Hi everyone. I sm'd Chase yesterday asking to downgrade my CSP to the Freedom Unlimited and got a message back saying that option is unavailable at this time. Did I skip a step or does anyone know what may be going on? I just want to have an idea what my next move will be before I call.
You need to call to product change your card now. Chase is no longer doing a product change through SM.

I went to log into my AmEx account to pay my weekend spendings. Funny, the website came up in German or similar looking language. My login info is prefilled and saved so I just hit the login button and it went back to English. None of my neighbors are German and I am pretty deep into our gated community. Never had this happen before. Just a fluke or possibly someone trying to hack into my computer?

ETA: I have since closed the window and went back in and at the top my country preference is now set to United Kingdom. I wish I hadn't clicked so fast and paid attention to the first country that had the similar to German letters to see what country it was set to.

ETA again... log backed in and now it says Australia. Must be the website.

ETA: It keeps changing. Hong Kong is now appearing as my country.

No idea, but I would change the password.

Does it always take a long time for purchases to post on Chase business accounts/for pending purchases to randomly disappear? Used my new Marriott biz 4 times this week. Two of the charges are still showing as pending, and the other two have disappeared.

My CIP always does this. It is infuriating. I cannot ever reconcile the account in my budgeting software because charges show up, then disappear, but are counted in the total current balance, but I don't know which ones posted....ggrrrr

Ugh, great. Yeah I always wait for charges to post and then put them in YNAB. That's frustrating.

I need the increased SPG Biz offer to come out in the next month or so. I want to cancel my SPG personal (1st anniversary is in March) but don't want to do so until I have the business card.

I just realized I've been calculating my date wrong for my SPG Biz... I have until April 14th, for some reason I've been thinking March 14th. Oops...

I feel like if I push my MS through before the end of the month and get my points, maybe I'll book a room at the Dolphin for September before the category changes, just in case that's what we do...

I just really want to try and go back to Europe now on points :) Is there any reason not to aim for sometime between this September and next January/February, besides award flight availability for first/business class? I'd be happy to use UR on a good deal on economy flights even.

What concerns you about cancelling the personal before you have the business? In case you weren't aware once your points transfer to your SPG account they are safe :) Perhaps there's some other reason though I'm missing...

Only that I like being able to earn 1 spg point/$ when I’m not trying to hit a minimum spend because spg points are so valuable. Basically I don’t want to cancel personal then not get approved for business (I know that’s a low probability) and not have an spg Card.

How do I find a bonus offer for adding an AU to any of my cards? (chase or amex?)

They are getting more strict. Have you had the card for more than 1 year? If not you probably can't downgrade. At some point after Xmas Chase stopped allowing downgrades via SM and seem to have stopped allowing downgrades before the 1 year anniversary. There used to be a method where people could downgrade to a Sapphire and then to a Freedom (or Freedom Unlimited and then to a Freedom) I don't recall the specifics as it was a bit convoluted but I know some people here managed to do it- although I believe they were all before Xmas.

I did the CSP to no fee Sapphire about 7 mos into my CSP but yes, I made the change via SM'ing back in Nov or early Dec. You are right, it seems Chase quit allowing that sometime after Christmas.

Yes, the option to PC your CSP before your 1 year anniversary still exists, but as @gottalovepluto said, it's a more convoluted method. If under a year, you need to PC your CSP to the no-fee Chase Sapphire card (as @wendow did), and then PC the no-fee CS to a CFU.

I do notice that it does show up on the Ink app on iOS. Maybe you can check your pending purchases there.

Have you considered a retention offer? There has been a few people who got 10k SPG points, no strings attached but they did quite a bit though.

I may give that a shot. But I'm trying to accumulate Marriott points for London/Paris next summer so I need lots of points which is why I'm hoping for a 35k spg biz offer (even if it is for $12k in spending). I also will be buying 30,000 spg points.

heres a tip --> 1
7k after $1000 spendings seems like a very common deal --> 1, 2, 3
10k DP --> 1, 2

Not cc related but for those who don't follow the gift card thread (I check in once in awhile but have always ignored this since I don't have kids): growupyoung.com every time you upload a receipt containing $20 worth of Huggies, Pull-ups, Goodnites, Kleenex, Cottonelle, Scott or Viva products you get a $5 disney gift card up to a $50 gift card max. Idk details on it (looks like you can bank points so the receipts don't have to be $20 all in one, and this is just for the month of Feb from what I see on the "support" tab) but I do know that some of you have kiddos and even those that don't might use the other brands. $50 for $200 not too shabby. (Of course we just stocked up on Kleenex from Costco and prefer other brands of toilet paper and paper towels so I won't be using the program but maybe someone here can get use of it.)

Thank you. Do you know if I can pc to the no fee Sapphire by sm?
