The shock when you log into Chase to see your CSR balance like $500 higher than it should be... and then remember the AF just came due :( My budget knew it was coming and I'd ran the math and decided to keep it but the physical pain of seeing that charge on my CC surprised me, and not even UR points to buffer it... so I'm buffering the pain by running math on a WDW F&W trip again. After all, $300 of that fee is just pre-paid vacation money ...

I am losing my mind...uuugghhh...

I found flights to PSP for decent price and decent times. Great! I only priced economy, not basic economy since we have kids...United. Cost on united is $435 round trip.

I log on to CUR to try and book using CSR/UR points for 1.5x redemption. Well....not only does it not show all the flights (only shows delta for my return options)...but it jacks up the price to over $600 instead of $435. What in the world!? Negates booking thru the portal. Anyone have any luck calling in and the agent helping?
Call chase, they might be able to see the flights. Sometimes flights don't show up on the portal.

I have to keep reminding myself it really is only 150 because of the travel credit. It still was painful. Mine came the same
month my amex premier 195 was due also. $645 gone and nada went towards food/shelter lol.

This year i started putting away/hiding 50 a month separate from any other money for annual fees.

I have been a long time member of the Disboards, but have never posted. I guess you could say I have been lurking. I have learned so much from the boards and this thread has inspired my husband to get the companion pass for SWA. He is 1/24 and we own a condo that we rent out.

The plan was to apply for the Business and Plus card. He applied for the Business card this morning and received the 30 day notice. We are now conflicted on if he should apply for the Plus card now or wait to see if the Business card is approved. I did call the automated number and received the 30 day message vs. the 7-10 day message, so I am hoping that is a good sign.

Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated. We have several trips coming up and the companion pass would come in very handy.

If he is comfortable talking to them about his business he could call and see about getting it approved. Once that is done, app for the Plus.
Otherwise, just wait a few days for the biz app to be approved via status line and then app for the plus.

Eta: I think I read somewhere that HPs don’t combine for biz and personal so it doesn’t matter if they are all in one day.

Most business applications get the 30 day message. Wait 2 business days and call to check on the status. Unless he gets the 7-10 business day status I wouldn't call the recon line.

@ema773 the rule generally is to wait it out for business cards. The reason why is because u dont want the CSR rep to decline you as you may still be autoapproved. Waiting it out 30 days until u get a letter, find out the reason why you are declined, then you got nothing left to do but to recon. As for your personal card, id probably hold off since if you dont get approved for the biz card, u may need to make up the other 60k somehow(either by applying both SW cards) and what not.

If you do follow @disneymagicgirl advise, highly suggest going through these questions and make sure u have a good answer instead of getting caught off guard... --> Link <--

Good luck! hope you get it!

Agreed with @disneymagicgirl, if your DH is comfortable with calling in to Chase’s reconsideration line, which should be open today, he can likely get the SW business card approved today. Otherwise, you can keep checking the automated status line as it’s quite common to get the 30 days message and be approved a few days later.

There’s really not much benefit to getting both the SW business and a personal card approved on the same day. My understanding is Chase would make two hard pulls of your credit report — one for a business card, and another for a personal card — whether you applied for both on the same day or a few days apart. Business cards and personal cards are considered two different departments. So you don’t combine pulls by double dipping on the same day.

You did it right by applying for the business card first because business cards are subject to Chase’s 0/30 rule, which is you can’t have made any other application for credit with Chase in the last 30 days. Personal cards are on a 2/30 rule, which is you can only have two applications every 30 days or you’ll be denied automatically.

Good luck!

Woke up to much colder day than predicted and unexpected snow, and kind of wrote off the Chase pay best buy deal, because I feel like they'll keep offering these every so often... then saw that certain gift cards were BOGO 10% or 20% off, and I need two $50 Bed Bath and Beyond cards for wedding gifts... so we drug our butts out and got those for $95, $150 in restaurant cards that we'll use over the next month, and $650 in Disney cards. I figure we can't do much better than 5% off and 10x UR points on physical BB&B cards.

Good for you! I've already gotten 10x for one $300 disney gc (CSP) and was tempted to take advantage of today's BOGO with my 2 Freedoms but just couldn't make myself drive to the mall. I wish I could use the weather but it's sunny and in the 60s. I'm just that lazy...sad.

I could have stopped on my way home from work multiple times, but I know how you feel!

Phew. Set up a twitter account for my new Marriott account(already had one set up for DH's account). Trying to keep the separate emails and logins straight across all my social media and credit card accounts is getting complicated. :rotfl2:

I finally got around to setting up my husband today too. I should have done it much sooner, kicking myself on all the missed points from this season.
