I love credit cards so much!

I believe all SW flights into MCO are in the different wing and will need to go through security twice. I don't know think you can access it after landing though if that is what you are asking, because you will not have a boarding pass to get through security. Also, Just to get into our local PP lounge, you need to show a boarding pass, not sure if it is the same for all of them.
Hoping to def stop by when we land to check it out in apr. hopefully they will let us use the boarding pass from the flight we just come off

The AF for my Chase SW card just posted. How long before the annual points show up in my RR account? I want to cancel that card after I get the points....unless they offer to waive my fee and credit it back to my account.

I think mine took about a week to a week and a half, maybe even 2, for the points to post after the AF. I know it felt like forever because I wanted to cancel and not pay the AF and I was checking daily for the points.

I am getting ready to apply for the CIP. Clicked from a referral link on reddit. When I look at all the card info, it does not say anything about the AF being waived the first year but I thought that was the case?

Anything I need to know before submitting my application?

It's not waived in year 1.

Good luck!

So the chase pay at B.B. ends today. If I were to return something how does that affect the bonus points?

Just got a 10% off any one item so probably going to return part of my purchase and buy it again with the coupon. Just not sure I’ll make it today.

As @havaneselover already said, the $95 AF is not waived the first year. After one year, you can ask Chase to product change your card down to the no fee Chase Ink Cash, which is still a great card because it gives you 5x UR points at office supply stores (think gift cards).

Some DPs from past promos and the Freedom's 5x bonus categories seem to suggest that if you make a return, Chase will claw back only 1x UR of the value from the transaction, leaving you with 9x UR for the Chase Pay promo (or 4x UR in the case of 5x bonus categories). With how wonky Chase's IT has been with properly awarding UR points, I wouldn't chance it.

Assuming you're still in the return & exchange period, what you could do is either (1) ask for a price adjustment using the coupon; or if the price adjustment will take you under the $300 limit that maximizes the deal then (2) don't ask for a return/refund -- ask to exchange your item for a Best Buy gift card. The second option will not put any charge back to your Chase card so you don't have to worry about any returns or claw backs. You get equal dollar value on the Best Buy gift card, which you can use with your coupon to repurchase your item. Whatever is left, you can use towards a future purchase, or *fingers crossed* still use for a third-party gift card.

(2) Sounds good Lain. What is BB's usual procedure when you return an item without a receipt? Do they issue a store credit? Or a Gift card? I would be a little afraid that they would do a charge back and sale if you straight up ask for a gift card.

Best Buy requires a receipt for returns, and even for exchanges or store credit. A manager could possibly override to allow for a return or exchange without receipt, but I wouldn't count on it. Do you have an email or pickup receipt -- something they can look up the order or transaction number from?

When I've used the Amex Offers for Best Buy on items that I later had to return past the offer expiration date, I always ask Best Buy to just exchange the item for a "gift card" because I didn't want to deal with Amex potentially clawing back the statement credit. I don't think there's much practical difference between a "gift card" and "store credit." "Store credit" gift cards look a little different than the Best Buy "gift cards" on the racks, but they should work exactly the same, and can be used online or in store for the same kinds of items.

So my Swagbucks are pending. Thinking if I just return it and repurchase it today then at least I can get chase to credit the bonus since I made another purchase within the timeframe. I’ll just have to make sure I go today. Hopefully my Swagbucks will still credit.

It has taken a while but you know you definitely have your spouse trained when before making a large online purchase he asks “should I use your card that you are still working on the spend on?” AND once back from Disney he was putting his cards back in his wallet and asked for labels! He just might be getting into this finally. I guess the rooms paid for at Disney was a concrete reminder that this credit card game can really pay off! :stitch:

I was able to do this in December. I flew United, transferred to the other terminal and was able to go to the lounge while "I was waiting for someone to land". They scanned my already used boarding pass and card and had no problem.

I really wish this could be accessed without going through security twice. We almost missed a flight because we thought we could transfer terminals the first time we went to the lounge.

OK flight gurus....

For SW I can book everyone separately and one ways if I like...which I do...without any repercussions.

I am looking at United flights and there appear to only be 2 seats left at a certain price. Any issue with booking myself and DD at that price and doing a separate ressie for DH and 2DSs on another ressie?

Oh another thought too...flight lands at 12:15am and Hertz is open til 12:30am. If we are delayed are we screwed? DH is president's circle, so usually we go straight to that area and pick a car. Im guess we can't even do that if they are closed?

This new hobby may cause me more stress. In Nov 2017, I booked a hotel for a trip in Sept 2018. It does say that the hotel will charge one night as a refundable deposit. But the hotel didn't do that until this Friday. Disappointed this wasn't on a card that I will be working on spend or get extra points for travel. I need to let that go as those plans were made before I started on this points adventure.

Still waiting on my gift of college to deposit in the 529. Friday was 10 business days. It is crazy in today's electronic age that it takes this long. I transferred money from savings to the 529 and it took less than 48 hours.

I just maxed out the 5% category on my Freedom. I would not have tried Apple Pay if not for the bonus points. Even was able to use it when I got my hair cut last week. I love it. So much easier/quicker than using the card.

I was waiting until March to apply for CIP but the wait is killing me! I think I am going to go for the CIP next week. I was rereading what you get extra points for (travel/phone/internet..). Are there extra points on purchases at office stores? I didn't see that. I may need to stock up on gift cards so want to know if it is better to buy at an office store or not.
