It depends on your goal. points will get you more travel rewards. Our plan is decrease our travel expenses so we can travel more.

Our travel goal: Disney Mediterranean cruise in May 2019. We will need flights and hotel for 4 people. 7 day cruise plus 1 week in Spain. We also do Disney once a year and visit DH's family in California.
This is what we have (2player):
Freedom: 30k earn about 5k UR/month
SW x2 companion pass until 12/31/2019. 120k points
DH CSP: 50k points
Me MPE:70k points
DH Applied for CIP: 80k
This is my plan:
Me: CIP
DH: MPE
Me: CSR
DH: SW x2
After that hotel cards and at some point we will need to add SW business card for me to earn more miles for 2018, since we are down to 50k.

Don't forget to apply for your CIP through your DH's referral link so he can get another 20k UR!

Ok spent the last month reviewing all the pages. Looking for a new card/s. Got the sw to get the companion pass so over the last two years I've opened two chase cards.

What card/s would you recommend
- travel -flights, hotels, rental car
-cash back

Thinking the csr or csp. Then doing the chase ink business but not sure which one.

Thanks for any input.

What you can get will depend on how many total cards (bank, store, authorized user) you have opened over the last 2 years, not just how many Chase cards. Some folks misunderstand the 5/24 rule and assume it is only Chase cards. Just want to make sure you are well informed :goodvibes SO, if you are truly at 2/24 then you have potentially 3 more open spots with Chase cards that fall under 5/24. My recommendation would be go for the CSR assuming you can use the $300 travel credit during the spend. The AF is then a $150 with the travel credit but you get more value for the same spend. Both CSR and CSP require $4,000 the first 3 months. Assuming all of it is done on 1x purchases on the CSP except for $300 in travel you will get $587.50 in value. 54,600 x 1.25 = $682.50 - $95 AF. The same $4,000 and using the travel credit on the CSR will give you 54,900 x 1.5 = $823.50 - $150 AF = $673.50.

I'm not signing up either. Not only do I not believe that it will do any good, but by signing up, you agree to Equifax's terms including mandatory arbitration:

Equifax came out and said now you can opt out... in some ridiculous way by like sending them mail? I'm sure it won't get it lost *eyeroll* http://www.businessinsider.com/equi...se-waive-right-to-class-action-lawsuit-2017-9

CIP first as it's the hardest to get then CSR/CSP.

I think the perception definitely is the CIP is hard to get because it's a "business" card and a lot of people don't think they qualify. I was pretty surprised my wife was approved, basically, on some eBay sales she made last year; and I was approved based on some consultancy work I did a few years ago that I planned to resume. We both have excellent credit ~800, good household income, and a long history (e.g. accounts, credit cards) with Chase. I wonder if having the CSR/CSP with Chase gives any weight for having an existing relationship with Chase when applying for the CIP?

Hmm, personally I was thinking about credit limits and 0/30 since they have a history with Chase already. Due to the theory if Chase feels they've extended enough CL you will be denied CIP because they've extended their max amount of credit. (But pre-emptivly dropping CLs has bitten some people in the rear because Chase won't put them back.) @3 DD love princesses make sure you understand 0/30 and 2/30. You have to have gotten 0 Chase credit cards in the 30 days for a business card, but personal cards have more wiggle room allowing for 2 Chase credit cards in 30 days. (I think it's approvals, maybe someone else can chime in: is it approvals or applications no matter what happened with them?)

Most people will push the CSR/CSP and CIP as the first few cards... which is generally recommended since there is restrictions, but its not always the best solution. It depends on your situation. It really all depends on your situation. For example, the deciding factor should be your travel location. Since you have the CP for SW, im assuming you are near a southwest hub. This is great for domestic travels... as someone who never really travels domestically, international is the way for me. I fly back to Taiwan very often so a chase card may not be the best solution for me, so i went with a citi bank card. So check your future plans, shop around for whatever airline, whatever hotel, and then look into your options.

this whole equifax is just bad news... the hack happened almost 2 months ago. and equifax waited so long to report it. 1 red flag. The site that equifax registered can be done through any web domain registration. the address registered to both equifax.com and that new site dont match each other too. why wouldnt they match? weird. 2 red flags. Someone posted that if you put your name as test, your SS as 123456, then it shows a result. what the heck? 3 red flags. The Arbitration clause for the signup is also weird like previously stated. Many people believe this wont hold in court though, but thanks for trying. 4 red flags.

its just sounds all bad news... :\

Thanks all who have given suggestions.

I have two businesses so the Chase ink preferred is better than the cash correct? You earn ur and can transfer those to sw as a 1:1 ratio?

The csr is sounding like a better deal. What can you use the travel credit towards?

Already have our flights booked for 2018 but can easily cancel them and use a credit to purchase them.

Any rental car deals with use of cc rewards?

You can see the earnings rates on both, the sign-up bonus on CIP is better, but it comes with a $95 annual fee that is not waived the first year. Hey, you want both? Apply for the one you want most first, wait a month and apply for the other. Bag both bonuses and because they're business cards they won't count towards 5/24! (Travel credit will auto apply to any travel expenses, hotels, airfare, ubers, rental cars.) Personally, I've found great rates for my National Car Rental via Chase's UR portal so we've redeemed a small amount of points at the 1.5x rate for a couple car rentals this year. (Rates were better than their code on the National website so I would have booked the portal even without the points and just paid cash. We don't rent much though so I don't know how good the rates are in general.)

Thanks. So if I do the cip for the year what are my choices to pc with no annual fee?

Also ur can be transferred from what cards? Just trying to make sure I make the most of the cards I get

Where do I find the links? My DD is finally taking a step forward and will be applying for a SW card. I don't see where I have a referral to give.

You can product change the Chase Ink Preferred to a Chase Ink Cash, which has no annual fee.

UR points can be transferred between Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Sapphire, Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Ink Preferred, Chase Ink Cash. UR points are worth 25% more when redeemed for travel through the Chase UR portal on the CSP and CIP; and 50% moron the CSR.

I was posting about the Chase Ink Preferred referral bonus, where a CIP cardholder can earn 20,000 UR points for each new cardholder who gets the CIP through their referral link: https://www.chase.com/referabusiness/preferred.

The SW cards earn you 10,000 points referral bonuses for each new cardholder who apply through your link: https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/refer-a-friend. However, I believe the current 60,000 points signup bonuses on the SW Plus and Premier cards are better than what a new cardholder would get by applying through a referral link.

Oh good, I was not aware of this.

I have tried to refer SW cards before by providing the email address for my sister but she never received the offers (tried twice) so I thought maybe there was another process or something. Thanks

There is. Once you enter your last name, zip, and last 4 digits of the card for which you are trying to refer, there should be a box where you can add emails of the people you'd like to invite. There should also be a tab next to the email option that's the "Twitter" option, or something like that. Clicking that should auto-generate a tweet containing a referral link that you can copy, paste, and send wherever or two whomever you'd like.

ETA: Delete the text around the link as well as the #ad at the end.

When I did it, it took a week or more for DH to get an email with the link. But it seems to me there is another way to get a link. Hopefully someone else will chime in. Or my memory will kick in.

ETA I see Lain has it. More coffee for me.

When I sent the refer a friend to my mother and friend they got the 40,000 point application. They then sent Secure Message to Chase and both got the 60,000 point with the $2,000 spend and got it. I got 10,000 points for each of the referrals.

I am trying to transfer the CIP rewards to my CSR account. When I try to add my personal accounts to my business account page I am getting a message to call customer service. Am I going to need to link these accounts to do this and is there a reason I might not want to link them? I remember reading someone needing to unlink for chase pay but that may no longer be an issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was able to transfer DH's CIP points to my CSR yesterday without any problems. Plus I transferred all of his CSR points to my CSR without any issues. The poor man now has no points of his own.

So has anyone else had issues transferring points recently? Logged into my CIP account this morning to transfer my 89000 points to my CSR pooling account to book our next Disney trip. Tried doing the transfer 3 times, but I keep getting the message "an unexpected error has occurred." That's it, nothing else. Just curious if anyone else has seen this problem. Do you guys know if an SM to Chase can transfer my points for me?

It's kind of a known issue that seems to happen to a lot of people. Happened to me. I tried to transfer my CIP points to my CSR, but got the same error. I keep my personal and business accounts separate. I had no problem transferring my CIP points to my wife's CSR, then transferring from my wife's CSR to my CSR. You should be able to SM Chase to help you move the points, too.

Thanks for the response. I've been a little out of the loop recently. I know I had seen posts about Chase possibly taking away the ability to transfer points, so I got nervous when I couldn't transfer mine.

Thanks Lain, I was just able to transfer from my CIP to husband's CSR and then to my CSR. Took moments with this info:love:
