I put labels on DH's cards too, and he still asks me which one to use.

Whenever we get ready to go anywhere, my DH will get a panicked look on his face "which card do we take?" At least he asks, I suppose.

I am trying to transfer the CIP rewards to my CSR account. When I try to add my personal accounts to my business account page I am getting a message to call customer service. Am I going to need to link these accounts to do this and is there a reason I might not want to link them? I remember reading someone needing to unlink for chase pay but that may no longer be an issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was able to transfer DH's CIP points to my CSR yesterday without any problems. Plus I transferred all of his CSR points to my CSR without any issues. The poor man now has no points of his own.

Wow, you're lucky (or I'm unlucky). I SM'd 3x then called and was told they'd look into it. Still no points. Ugh.

Hope it gets resolved for you. I thought they were supposed to have a 24 hour turn-around. I think the thing that helped was the PDF of the transaction so they could actually see the date of the transaction and that Chase Pay was used.

The label comment makes me laugh except that DH actually put a label on his Freedom card that says, "Restaurants, Movie Theatres 5x." He kept forgetting to use that card when he went out to eat. I assume he will be changing his label every quarter now.

I'm looking at the small bonuses right now too. We're using Uber for our wedding transportation, and covering people's rides. It's set to charge to my CSR so 3x points. Our lunch after is also on my CSR and bills as a restaurant, so day of charges (ie ) are 3x points. We just made the last payment on our Disney event with DF's CSR to meet the minimum spend, and it coded as travel.

DH's CSP card arrived yesterday. When he applied, he asked me if it would be a fancy card like my CSR and I told him that I didn't think it was metal or anything. Well, I was wrong. It is metal and looks very fancy indeed, honestly more so than the CSR card. That made DH strangely happy.

DH is eyeing the new iPhone 8, so that right there will help quite a bit towards the minimum spend. Plus with all of the baby items that we still need to buy, we will probably already be half way towards the minimum. The rest of the 2k can easily come from organic spending over the next 2-3 months.

My CSP from 2 years ago was metal, long before CSR so I don't understand the big deal about how CSR looks

Thanks for the link. I just set up two IFTTT applets using my "couponing" twitter account. One applet should tweet the hashtags everyday at 8:15am for 50 points (It just posted a few minutes ago, so I know it is working) and the other will retweet Marriott's posts so that I can get any of the bonus points they offer for retweeting certain posts. Hopefully this will work. I will probably open a Marriott account and set up an a dummy twitter account for DH too, since that could be another few free nights each year.

I wonder how long this will last, but might as well take advantage while I can.

Honestly I labeled mine & DHs because I forget & DH is clueless. He follows directions for the most part but I have to tell him "yeah use the fancy one". Lol. I should start calling it his mancard.

I was really close to leaving for DLR but realized I wouldn't be able to get back home for work next week (assuming there is work to go to next week) if airports and roads are shut down. Plus DH can't leave since he is considered mandatory emergency personnel at the police department.

So IFTTT means "if this, then that." It is a way to automate certain online tasks, including making tweets. The link that @GlamMistress gave provides a link to the Reddit post that generally explains how to set up IFTTT "applets" that can automate the process of earning Marriott points through Twitter.

You need to have an IFTTT account and link it to your Twitter account. You then set up IFTTT applets that will automate the process. I set up 2 applets, using the instructions in the Reddit post. One will tweet from my twitter account every day at 8:15am and include the Marriott hashtags. This should get me 50 Marriott rewards points each day. The other applet is set up to retweet all of the Marriott Rewards twitter posts. Some of those posts offer bonus points for retweeting. For example, there was a post on September 1 that if you retweeted, you got an extra 150 points.

Since I just set these up, it will take some time before I start to see if my account is being credited with the bonus points. I will definitely update once I start to see the points (or not). If you need help setting this up and find the Reddit post confusing, I could probably write up a more simple, step-by-step explanation to help people out.

Alright, while I was setting things up for DH, I wrote up a little tutorial for linking your Marriott account with Twitter and using IFTTT to get some free points.

STEP 1: If you do not yet have one, create a Marriott Rewards account by going to http://www.marriott.com and selecting “Join Now” in the top right corner of the site. Make note of your rewards number from the Profile page.

STEP 2: If you do not yet have one, create a Twitter account by going to https://twitter.com/signup, entering your information and hitting “Sign Up.” Continue through the registration process and confirm your account through the email confirmation process.

STEP 3: Go to https://mrpoints.chirpify.com/rewardspoints/register and hit the “Connect Twitter” square. Then hit the “Authorize app” button. This should take you to a form to complete which asks for your name, email address and Marriott Rewards Account Number. Make sure to use same email address that your Marriott Rewards account is linked. You can also hit the “Follow Marriott Rewards on Twitter” button for an extra 125 bonus points.

STEP 4: If you do not yet have one, create an IFTTT account by going to https://ifttt.com/join and choosing your sign up method. Once signed in, click on the “My Applets” tab at the top of the page.

STEP 5: Click on the “New Applet” button on the upper right side of the site. Click on the large, blue “+ this” portion of the screen. Hit the “Date & Time” square with the large clock, choose your time zone and hit “Connect.” Next, choose the “Every day at” square and choose the time you want your tweet to be sent out, then hit “create trigger.” Next, click on the large, blue “+ that” portion of the screen. Click on the Twitter square and connect your twitter account to your IFTTT account. Next, choose the “Post a tweet” square. In the Tweet text field, put “Thanks Marriott! #MembersGetIt #RewardsPoints #FindYourRoute #MRpoints” then hit the “Create action” button. Then hit the “Finish” button.

STEP 6: Go to https://ifttt.com/applets/SMvaxczG and click the “Turn on” button. Under “New tweet from search” in the “Search for” box, type in “from:MarriottRewards exclude:replies.” Then hit the “Save” button.

You should now be all set up to receive some free Marriott Rewards points.

Ouch... you could find a decent used car for that price. We bought a 2006 Scion XB with 40K miles for $5K, just last year.
