I've been trying about every 5 mins for two hours....So frustrating!

This morning just killing time I went to look at ride wait times in the MDE app and it kept displaying a message that their system was having problems and many features were unavailable.

Staples and Lowe’s 10% off offers are back on AmEx. Staples is up to $50 and Lowe’s is up to $100.

Which cards? I'm 0/13 on ours for the Lowe's or Staples.

Does the SW Biz not contain RR number? Is there anywhere to verify that it's connected to the correct account? I know I put the correct number in, it's just something I verify when I get the card, but I don't see anything anywhere to connect the two.

Just looked at mine....no RR number on it either, but the points have always gone into my account monthly

They've always been well known for the fantastic labor day deals - I've never personally pulled figures so I have no way to tell if they've gotten worse. My comment was based on same travel dates last year vs. this year for late January. In 2018 they saved me 29.3% off the rack rates on my room portion and in 2019 that was only going to be 18.3%. It was a significant decline (so much so that the Disney room-only discount won out )

I've been doing a lot of split stays recently. I had two magical rates booked for March/April. My BC rate could not be matched by Disney (even if I tried to switch to YC), but the GF was much better! I am paying $18.04 more to go from a magical GV to AP SL CL. Did I need CL? No. However, I can justify the rate much easier considering I can drink 4 cans of soda to even that out based on Disney snack prices.

I have also noticed the rates are much higher for upcoming trips as well. I have a few other deposits and will watch for AP rates. I have no problem cancelling and rebooking under different promos (or even changing resorts within reason) to get the best deal.

Thank you for the info! I screen shotted everyone’s suggestions and will talk with Dh tonight. I’m glad there might be an option to help us save on those train costs!

You might already know this but one thing I recall from Japan and the trains is that there are two different companies that don't have much to do with each other. I never figured out the specifics because one of my sons who is good with languages was in charge of asking directions but I do recall that we never did figure out from the maps which train to take (or where to buy tickets or how to get to the right platform). Young Japanese people were super eager to help us, though, so it never was a problem.

Which Amex cards are y'all seeing the BB offer? I've checked my 8 cards (5 biz, 3 pers) and I don't have it. My dh has 6 cards so about to check those too but it's not looking good.

Even the LD rates from the magical agency have gotten higher over the last 3 years. About 4 years ago, we could get the Poly for $200/night including tax. In 2017, that same exact deal and room was $258/night including tax. We didn't check rates in 2018 so not sure what they looked like.

Same. We priced out a rate at BC for 2018 and it was $282 a night compared to a similar rate to what you had in 2017 for the Poly.

Question for those of you who have had an acct with PNC-

Is it pretty easy to transfer money from PNC back to your main acct? We don’t have branches around here so I’ll have my direct deposit sent to PNC and then online transfer the money back to Chase(my main bank)
I find capital one is very easy where as Citizens Bank sucks for transfers bc they change a fee to move money to another bank.

I know plenty have posted about Chase and Staples, but I also made a purchase of $150 in Disney gift cards split in half over my CSP and CSR. I haven't received an e-mail yet, but I see $6 pending on each card under offers. I also added the 10% before the 30% offer so live and learn. The 30% offer is still showing with no money back so I guess I will repeat the process to trigger the $19 on each card. Glad the $15 amount over the $60 did not waste the 30% off offer. Not the worst thing since I need plenty of Disney gift cards, but 30% stacked with 10% would have been nice.

Yes, I was hoping for the same thing but it didn't happen. So now I'm running over to Lowes to do the 30% offer and Staples is right across the street.

I love split stays when I'm traveling solo! I'm always driving so it's super easy. But with family along, sometimes it is not quite as much fun. We had a one day in November at Poly prior to moving to BWV and it worked fine, but there was a little tension when I wanted DD and kids to go straight to MK while I went and did the check in at BWV. Compromise was reached and we split the kids, but by the time I returned to MK, they were ready to leave although they did have a great time, dgd3 rode teacups for the first time. Meanwhile, DGD2 was asleep in the stroller with me. I'm still glad we did the one night as DD really liked the studio set up at Poly and we used to do most of our trips in Poly concierge back in the day so it was nice to relive it a bit. And this studio worked well, whereas we need a one bedroom at BWV for the same set of 4 people. A studio will work but we are at the point where we 'want' a one bedroom.

And the 4 cans of soda - its amazing what I've also justified in the past! 4 cans of soda for $18.04? You can get those 4 a lot cheaper elsewhere but you are at Disney, so that's our standard . My favorite is when I buy the mug and then use it maybe 3 times, but I like the mugs and just threw about a dozen into the box going to Goodwill.

Man this government shutdown has been annoying. I'm furloughed but not 100%, but I'm having to log on for an hour or two each day morning and afternoon just to make sure there's nothing that needs to be done. But I can't work all day - not that there's anything to do anyway.

In other news, my parents are considering joining us for our February WDW trip. I was looking for a good rate - passholder rates seem ok, Pop Century may be their best bet, but wow there's some expensive stuff out there.

Sorry about that. I think DH is good. He says he is good, but actually has not been to work since before Christmas using up use or lose time so hopefully nothing has changed. It gets tiring having this situation every year.

I gave up. I realized that 1) FD'ing has never made financial sense for our family and 2) if my dd gets into DCP, we will have AP's by August. I'm very much having a 'Monday' and I don't need the extra frustration of crashing MDE (just for you lol!).

Gotcha, well that stinks. I hadn't checked recently. Maybe because rack rates have gone up as well? Probably not proportionally though.
