Just getting back into things here...804 messages left to look through.

I want to thank you for the kind words about my grandmother. I really appreciate it and the time you took to say some kind words. Services are tomorrow and Friday, so I will be back to a more regular schedule here on Saturday.

They've always been well known for the fantastic labor day deals - I've never personally pulled figures so I have no way to tell if they've gotten worse. My comment was based on same travel dates last year vs. this year for late January. In 2018 they saved me 29.3% off the rack rates on my room portion and in 2019 that was only going to be 18.3%. It was a significant decline (so much so that the Disney room-only discount won out :))

WOW - that is so strange. Especially since to sell Disney tickets they had to make changes to update to the new "date based" tickets. Chase URs and Disney makes no sense anymore!

I don't recall the details of your situation. Did they apply for cards on different days close together?
High functioning mentally disabled young man- overheard his Mom talking about the SWA cards etc. Apped for priority card twice in a row, same day(I think) without telling his Mom- got approved for both, now has both cards in hand with two different acct numbers- RR# on only one of the cards however.I've asked everywhere about this since I have no idea how he managed to do this...so apparently he'll qualify for a cp without any effort at all if he makes the spends?

Thank you. Yes that and the Ez pass possible screw up that actually worked out, my new year is starting well.
I missed this- ezpass screwup? I had one a couple of weeks ago too...what happened

Looking for thoughts...

I was planning on using UR points for ILs flights with SW, so we could take advantage of price changes/flexibility. The downside of this, is that I know my ILs will not track points or pay attention to when the points would expire... so basically, I'd hate to move the full amount over in URs today and then the price drops and they have a random amount of RR points which are basically useless as they won't use them, when those points could have gone towards other things on their trip. Now, DH should get his CP points this month... My thought was that I would just use those points towards ILs flights, monitor changes, then at the end reimburse DHs account for whatever the flights end up being.

Sooooo... I know to book each direction separately. But if I'm booking three people... I'll do DHs separate, but do ILs each get their own reservation too? Or do I put them together. Curious how others handle when they have multiple adults to book on SW.
I always do SW as one-way, one person per reservation. I don't think that's entirely necessary anymore with some of the enhancements they've made with the computer system...but old habits die hard and I just like having it that way, haha! It makes it VERY easy to monitor and re-book IMO.

At the end of the day are you using YOUR UR points or THEIR UR points for this? I can't tell from your comment if they have URs and you're just trying to manage their accounts OR if you are covering this from your stash.

Does the SW Biz not contain RR number? Is there anywhere to verify that it's connected to the correct account? I know I put the correct number in, it's just something I verify when I get the card, but I don't see anything anywhere to connect the two.
Just had to go look in the sock drawer, no RR number on the Biz cards. But my points posted to my account. So if you put in your number during the application they should go to your account. I suppose you could SM if you want to make sure.

usually book everyone separate, since I watch for pice drops and sometimes there is only 1 seat available at the lower price....But we don’t care if we board the plane together....
Would your in-laws be upset if their boarding passes weren’t back to back numbers...if so ,maybe book both on the same reservation
I forgot about the occasional one seat at a lower price. They wont care about the boarding numbers.

These will be their URs... "they" have a stash from when we had them get CSRs to pay off the car. I'm going to use DHs RR points from CP to book the flights, then reimburse his account from ILs UR stash. ILs UR stash is in DHs UR account currently. (Really I might leave the reimbursement as URs....)

Where do I find all these offers from Chase? I see deals, is this where I would find them?
I see gift card offers and shopping deals? Isn’t this the right place?

Question for those of you who have had an acct with PNC-

Is it pretty easy to transfer money from PNC back to your main acct? We don’t have branches around here so I’ll have my direct deposit sent to PNC and then online transfer the money back to Chase(my main bank)
I find capital one is very easy where as Citizens Bank sucks for transfers bc they change a fee to move money to another bank.
It's not too bad, no fees, but you have to answer those questions from your credit report every time you transfer. I suppose it's another layer of security, but I think it's kind of a pain. Especially when I got one wrong and had to call them just to transfer money. Just make sure to set up the account now, they will have to send those two deposits and you confirm those before you can transfer.

They are only in the app. When you click on the account scroll to the bottom and you'll see Chase Offers

Wow - strange scenario indeed. I hesitate to give advice on this one... lol.

...I just stared at my screen for like 15 minutes thinking...what would I do here...and then I'd start typing...and then say, no don't weigh in on this...and then start typing again. That one isn't an easy scenario. LOL!

I'll attempt to give some thoughts:
- He could probably keep both open, just meet MSR on one, then the other, see if he gets both points
- Chase could cancel one of the accounts eventually since he applied for both on the same day - the modified double dip is a strategy to apply on two DIFFERENT days so he is probably asking for one to get cancelled.
- He could proactively cancel one now to avoid hassles

Good luck with whatever he does there!

How do you plan to transfer In-Law's URs to your Husband's RR account (or husband's UR account)? Do they share an address or is that your plan to workaround it (i.e. change addresses)

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great last few weeks and a Happy New Year! I have been away from the Dis for about two weeks just to keep my sanity about having to finish planning our trip to Miami/Cruise/Disney while trying to finish up shopping/wrapping/baking/driving people to and fro/organizing/packing/unpacking/enjoying some holiday merriment...

Anyway, now I NEED to finish planning our trip. I booked Sheraton Vistana 2-Bdrm via UR two weeks ago at the free-cancellation rate, just in case *ahem-fingers-crossed* that Disney comes back online. I know. I'll just insert :duck::badpc: here. I need to book a rental from Port of Miami to Orlando, and a 1-night stay in Miami.

So here is my question:

I have the CSR, (1/17) and my annual fee will be coming up in about 10 days. DH also has the CSR so I am thinking about getting rid of mine. I would like to use my $300 travel credit before I ditch it. If I book my Miami hotel with it and use up the $300, then cancel the reservation and book the new hotel reservation on DH's CSR, will they claw back the $300 credit? I feel like I did this last year, not trying to game the system, but where I actually cancelled a hotel that the credit was used on because we changed our minds...I don't remember the credit being clawed back. Thoughts?

I have 30 days after my AF hits to cancel for a full refund?

Any good Miami hotels anyone has stayed at pre-cruise with two kids?

We live with ILs currently. When we got them to sign up for CSRs last year I moved all of their points immediately into DHs account. They dont use the cards, so it's been easy to remember that part of the stash belongs to ILs since it's just their MSR points. We told them we were asking them to get CSRs so we could earn extra points, but this was really the plan all along. They got a kick out of that when we told them this trip was why we asked them to do that :)

Oh my - then your plan sounds like a no-brainer to me!! You already have the points, LOL! Good move there young jedi!!

This is a sort of off topic post but may be useful to someone if you don't know already.

In November we drove to Disney. I forgot my Sun Pass and hadn't added my van to it anyway, but didn't expect to be using toll roads.

The day we left, I 4 was sort of backed up a bit so I headed for 417 and then used the sun pass lanes, fully intending to add the van to my account as soon as I got to my hotel that night. Turns out I forgot and didn't give it a thought until I noticed my ez pass replenishment that happened this morning. I had used a 40 cent toll road yesterday.

Anyway, Central Florida started accepting EZ pass Sep 1, 2018, so my tolls went on that. Their toll booth says 'E pass' which didn't register as using ez pass for me. I didn't figure it out until I got a replenishment notice and looked at my account today.

Perhaps this will help someone driving in Florida who doesn't yet know or maybe even with a rental car.

Thanks for the information. I did not know they were accepting it. I went looking and did find that it is only some central Florida roads (CFX but not FDOT). I have to pick someone up at the Tampa airport next trip so it probably won't work around there

I gave up. I realized that 1) FD'ing has never made financial sense for our family and 2) if my dd gets into DCP, we will have AP's by August. I'm very much having a 'Monday' and I don't need the extra frustration of crashing MDE :badpc: (just for you lol!).
It's easy to get sucked in to the hype of FD. I used to be one of them! I do see where it can work for some , but it just doesn't make sense for me at this time. I'm not going to lie, I did go check it out. Like @DisneyMandC said, the free dining thread must be going crazy with no warning this year! I was shocked AP rates came out too. I need sept/oct though and they go through June. I checked dates in May and saw yacht club for 315. Very tempted to go for Flower and Garden! I'm thinking I'm going to try and go for AP rates and use discounted GC's as my strategy. I'm also not opposed to renting DVC points again or snagging a Priceline deal. Why oh why can't Chase just play nice with Disney?!

tagging everyone I remember discussing the Marriott Platinum benefit with me, but I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, sorry! - @Alexle2007 @WVMomof3 @jhoannam

a user on r/churning called and reported back that it's a website glitch and we have until Jan 14 to select an option. Like everything take it with a grain of salt since it's a Marriott call center rep, but I think I will give it a couple days to straighten out before calling in. They also confirmed that the 5 elite night credits would retroactively go to 2018 :( There goes that plan. That's only useful if you needed it to hit 75 nights or another status level because they don't count toward Lifetime nights either.

Here's the comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/absgal/daily_discussion_thread_january_02_2019/ed3889f/

I had Staples and Lowes on all of my cards (5/5--PRG, BCP, BCE, SPG Biz, SPG Lux) plus both kids' BCE cards. I added it to my SPG Biz just in case. I also had Dell but I think that was only on my SPG Biz.

I'll probably only use the Staples one to buy Visa gift cards.
