If I cancel my Disney Premier, it won't have any effect on my Disney Dollars balance on my redemption card will it?

Can I have some AA advice please? I have 134k AA points but I know very little about flying with them on points. If I use award points to book a flight, and we change our minds about going, do I just lose the points? Is 12,500 points the best I can hope for for flights? I found flights that would work for 12.5k miles for everyone each way, so total of 100k for the four of us. That seems pretty good, I just am not sure we're actually going on this trip so I'm scared to actually book it. Any help or advice is appreciated!

I don't know what the current rules are but in the past if you needed to move the award miles booked on a saver award it cost the same as a standard flight change fee. And usually 12.5K are the base line saver awards for longer distance domestic flights.

We just got back from a week at Disney. I am so grateful to this board for helping me pay for some upgrades we wouldn’t have done otherwise.
Our budget was tight due to having 2 in daycare and a new house last year.

I was able to use Chase points to fully pay for our 5 nights at the Poly. It was cheaper to just book a great rate through a travel agent than using the CSR redemption back when you could still book Disney hotels so I did the unthinkable of just cashing out.

I had just enough points left to fully pay for Tickets to the Xmas party for myself and DD.

Stayed 2 nights at Dolphin paying just the resort fee and parking using older spg card bonus.

Bank bonus paid for Early Morning Magic.

Free Southwest flight from SW card.

Out of pocket I paid for tickets and food. I used all tips here and the gift card thread to purchase discounts gift cards.

We aren’t returning to Disney for a few years but I will be following along to build up some points along the way.
Thanks everyone for all your help on this board.

Looking to book RCCL Symphony of the Seas for Aug. We’ve always done Oceanview rooms. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with the Central Park or Boardwalk view rooms?

No as long as you’ve transfer the rewards to the card your fine
I’d double check the terms on this one. I would’ve said the opposite to be honest based on my understanding (I haven’t looked at this in a long time).

If for some reason they aren’t “safe” you can just use your rewards card to buy a Disney gift card at a Disney store...

@GPC0321, Upon further review, I actually don’t think they are specifically clear on this situation. Why not just downgrade to the no AF card?

Glad you asked that question as I have some rewards hanging around on a rewards card that I didn't spend this trip. I was getting ready to cancel. For me, I'll just wait a month and use them to pay my DVC dues along with my gift cards, then I will cancel.

I closed mine with dollars on my rewards card...but it was at least a year ago...

I'm actually trying to clear the decks a bit with Chase to free up some space for new cards when the time comes. The Disney card is just over a year old and has a sizable credit limit, so I figured I'd just close it.

I can't imagine they'd claw back my Disney Rewards Dollars from my redemption card, but if they do it's not that much money anyway. Hopefully they don't though.

PSA: Citi Has Officially Abandoned Secure Message.

This may make bonus “matching” on Citi cards more difficult, although several DPs in thread report matching via chat is possible but YMMV.

I’ve attempted to match via chat before and was unsuccessful.

:offtopic: Currently waiting in line to ride Escape from Gringotts for the third time! WWOHP truly is magical. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and they really did a spectacular job on this portion of the park. DH and I have been very impressed.

That being said, I am definitely not a Universal convert. The only other rides we’ve ridden are The Hulk, Rockit RC, MIB, and Shrek. We’ve been before, so we have done some of the other rides previously. Generally, we are not impressed with the park. We both commented that it seemed very commercial. We both enjoy Disney souvenirs and the creative things they come up with, but other than a select few Harry Potter merchandise items, we have not been impressed.

That being said, we will return in the future for WWOHP, but we will only do a 1 day PTP ticket when we do. I don’t regret doing 2 day this time, but I don’t see 2 days being necessary again for what we want to do.

You could have chase change it to the no fee card and reduce the credit limit to $1,000 to free up credit limit space.
I’ve kept my no fee Disney card to use at Disney for discounts etc..it doesn’t get used any other time

Had a great trip to SW FL. Ended up taking a voluntary bump from SWA tonight. My DH and I got a total of $1200 in luv vouchers for the bump, $209 luv counter for his ticket and $59 voucher for mine and they’ll fly us home tomorrow morning at 6am. I don’t have to be at work until noon and my DH works from home on Mondays. With my new CP next year, those vouchers will go a long way!
Ended up paying for a Towne Place suite...not worth using points for. Looks like I’ll only need 1 more night for Platinum.
