So I’ve never actually used WiFi on a plane. To get the offer, do you actually have to be on the plane or does in the terminal work?
Yes, SW offers free wifi to access some free tv and their flight tracker...not much else is free...but you need to be on the plane to access it. I don't think they turn it on until it's safe to get devices out...?? Maybe...

What some have done is buy a $300 Visa GC at Staples (My Lowe's sells up to $200)... Then they buy Disney GCs somewhere based on what rewards they want. Do you do swagbucks or grocery store fuel points? Do you have a Sam's membership?

Buy a $300 Visa GC from Staples, fee is $8.95, get 10% back = OOP $278.05
  • Do Best Buy/Swagbucks deal 3 times = get $300 in Disney GC + $28.50 in Swagbucks credits (14.4%)
  • Kroger 4x Fuel Points = $300 in Disney GC + $1.20 off per gallon of gas, up to 35 gallons... for us we can use ~27 gallons so $32.40 savings in gas (16.4%)
  • Use somewhere like Sam's where they are slightly discounted already = $300 in Disney GC + $14.04 remains on the Visa GC (11.5%)
I'd also try using the RMN offers. My Staples have all credited... right now that is $5 back on $80 online, Sam's is $5 back on $60 online.
If I go the Swagbuck route, how easy is it to cash Swagbucks into Disney Gift cards? I haven't tried swagbucks yet.

Question on the SW Biz. I have an email offer for the 60k, expiring 10/27. Can I apply on 10/27 and still get the bonus if I don't get the instant approval, and it takes a few days? Hoping it's instant with my "business" but since I have never tried Chase, I am nervous. I don't want to miss the 60k, but I want to apply as late as possible so that my MSR won't get met until January.
That 10/27 date is probably just a marketing ploy to create urgency and get you to apply. 60k is the public offer on that card. But yes, IF it did expire that day and you applied and weren’t approved for a week you’d still get the bonus.

Soooo, do you think it's safe to just wait after that date to apply?

So my plan was to apply for the personal card first. Is this a terrible idea?
  • CIP 8/2018
  • Planning to do SW pers on an in flight offer on Nov 23
  • SW Biz in late January
I'm doing it this way to space out my Chase apps. If I do the Biz first I will wind up with 3 Chase cards in 3 months. If I do the personal first like I planned I will have 3 Chase cards within 5 months.

I am going to be trying for CP for my dh. Since we are on a SW flight nov 15, I will apply for *hopefully* the 50k plus offer. After the first of the year, try for the SW biz. So, similar plan for us. My dh hasn't had a Chase card since last May so he should be good (and he's 1/24).

The 60k offer on the business card has been around a while....

There is no competition, it’s a hospital. I mean there is, but they all suck. I’m kind of stuck because I have the exact hours in the exact position I prefer. I am only 5 hours per day, which many don’t want. It’s a teaching hospital, so I do some resident teaching. Most other teaching hospitals are farther from my house (too far) The one that is closer is our new owner, plus they just laid off some dietitians which I hope they don’t plan for us. Ugh.
:sad1:... :grouphug:

Quick question: does Chase Pay only work when you have cashiers scan the QR code? Because if that's the case the only place with 45 minutes of here that accepts it is Starbucks and Shell gas stations.

I can't weigh in on whether it is a terrible idea, but it's what I'm going to do to get the CP for DH too. Our last scheduled SW flight for this year is Nov. 24. I feel like if I have DH apply for the SW Biz now, it's risky to have him apply for the personal on Nov. 24. Plus, he already has 2 Chase biz cards. His CIP anniversary is in Feb., so if need be, I can have him cancel that one if that's what it takes to get him approved for the SW Biz. It just seems to work better for us to go in that order. And if for some reason we can't get him approved for the biz card and complete the CP, we will certainly find a use for 50k SW points.

depends on what kind of phone u have. you have a samsung phone with samsung pay enabled, it works almost everywhere. If its not, then yes, u are correct, only places that can scan the QR code. Chase Pay also allows u to pay using Chase Pay online as well... ie 5 guys.

Is the CIP 80K points for a $5k spend the best offer out there? It's what I'm seeing, but I also know that sometimes there are better deals out there that are harder to find.

Also, I'm not seeing any referrals for this one. I guess there aren't any?

I am looking to book flights using UR. Transferring to AA or UA costs more UR than using the portal. However, the Chase travel portal is only showing Basic Economy when I want to book "main cabin" economy. Is this something I will have to call Chase in order to book? Is there a fee to do so?

Yes, that's the best offer, and there are definitely referrals for the CIP (20k referral bonus). There are tons of CIP support links on our DISChurners Chase support links thread.

I think there is a 100k offer if you go in branch and speech to a business relationship manager. But since you have a “business” idk if I would want to speak to a banker about it. Also, it may have expired. And u used to be able to buy 120k offers off reddit but it seemed like one guy figured out how to generate those and sold them.

The 80k is the best offer right now...Earlier in the year you could get 100k applying at a chase branch
There are CIP referrals ....you can ask @SouthFayetteFan to add you to the dischurners if your not on there
