I love credit cards so much!

what is a VGT rate?
We've done the Verandah guaranteed (VGT) for all 3 of our Disney cruises. The first we ended with a family verandah and the other 2 I was able to upgrade to concierge level at the port for a steal! Of course, we are now spoiled and LOVE, LOVE concierge although there is no way I am paying the ridiculous price upfront.

Glad to know they can book what Disney has available! Thank you!:dogdance:

You’re welcome. Make sure they go to the special offers tab if there is a discount available for your dates. At first my rep got the non discounted rate, but I explained how to get to the special offers page and said what discount to book.

We did both travel soccer AND travel hockey last year. Both for the same kid. Our soccer coach was super family friendly if you needed to miss. I discussed hockey with him at the beginning of the season b/c for 2 months the practices overlapped. We aged up in hockey this year so it will be more time consuming and more serious, though I bet they won't freak if we miss one weekend.
Dang, I don’t know how you did it. Our soccer year is 10 months because they include fall, winter indoor and spring. DS also wants to continue park district soccer with the team he’s been on for years. So 3 practices and 2-3 games each week. Shoot me now.

Ok you have me there. I AM a planner. I’m a little lost when not planning something. But really I should be planning how to sell our house and get a bigger one, not our next vacation. I’ve not started planning 2020 vacations as my butt should really get in gear fixing up the house but really I’d rather plan our next Disney trip of course :earboy2:
I've been doing both at once. Paint, points, sand, points... :rotfl:

nothing wrong with keeping what you have and enjoying those points! this 'game' needs to be played carefully, and within your means,so if PC'ing would be too much MSR too soon, it's ok to enjoy what you already got for a while....

If I PC'd, would I need to meet MSR again if I achieve it with CSP prior?

If you PC, you don’t get another bonus. But you would get the benefits like $300 travel credit and Global Entry Credit.
The only way to get a bonus on both CSR and CSP is to apply for both on the same day (and then meet both MSRs) so essentially Chase doesn’t know you’re applyyfor 2 sapphires.

I'm fine with not getting the bonus (since I will get it hitting CSP MSR). I think I misunderstood PP's post before. I would intend to meet MSR (and get bonus) under CSP, then ask to PC to CSR and keep trucking along.

Exactly! With us having 4 kids spread over 10/11 years, it can be hard to meet everyone where they are at in one vacation destination...My girls may be into Europe but not my boys...We'd all appreciate the beauty of the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone but after a day, I think a few would be bored...Sitting on a beach is entertaining for a day...Been to other theme parks and always leave wishing they were as good as Disney...We can't do anywhere that requires a lot of walking unless you can easily push wheels...NYC is an option but girls more into it than boys (same for DC)...So, Disney consistently is our pick. Always a good time even when there are a few hiccups :D

Our kids are about the same, and when the oldest started high school, we took our first cruise. It was the perfect family vacation. For a while, we were doing at least one cruise a year -- mostly DCL but also a few others. We have been to many places that would have been really difficult to plan without the cruise -- northern Europe and Greece, for example. I wouldn't want to figure out two weeks' worth of hotels for six people, but I can book a few cabins and sign up for excursions!

same... im at like $208 right now...
and helped a friend buy stuff that cost me an extra $120.

Target deal pushed me up $160, so in total i spent $533 in the past 2 days... :\
but hey, more points! :P
I just hit $214, plus the $90 I spent on my baby shower gift :) Nothing crazy. Small pet item, a box of treats I was going to buy anyways for 2xs the price, Petco gift card, baby gift, packing cubes, and 2 portable batteries, one to keep and the other if I end up not wanting looks like I can get a couple bucks from it on eBay (I'm a glutton for punishment, obviously!). Also two more gift cards which I'm going to sell. Might get a couple of the other gift cards too. Even though it's not a big profit, it's enough and such little time that it about equals my normal job wage, so why not? Plus I'll do it all on job time too... I'm bad.

I'd just like to let it be known that I have spent less than $30 on Prime Day. $1.99 for a Kindle book my library doesn't have, and $27.99 for some Crest White Strips. Please congratulate me accordingly.

You know, this post sounds a little bit like tempting the Prime Day gods . . . Prime Day isn't over yet . . .

I actually thought I might not buy anything, but then late last night I bought a silverware set. Then I bought a few kindles to have on hand for gifts. Less than $50 altogether, though. Last year there were some deals on home services -- I'd love to get a few hours of a handyman to come fix some things my DH keeps putting off but so far I'm not seeing any deals.

Flagstaff is a 25 min flight from PHX. Such a tiny airport I found it did save time, unless you want to make the drive. Page is 2 hrs from FLG
I would definitely make the time to drive from PHX to Flagstaff. So much to see on the way! There's an Indian ruins right off of the highway (the name is escaping me), Sedona, Slide Rock on the road that parallels the highway, the Meteor Crater past Flagstaff is kind of neat to see.

Cruising is the one other thing I think would work really well for us. I was just pricing some cruises last night. My dh isn't 100% on board with a cruise but I think, if the price were right, he could be enticed. Unfortunately, that means it will never be DCL lol!

I have spent 0. I don’t even have a Prime account although I use my sister’s. I did arrive at her house to see 4 Amazon packages on her porch. I think BIL has been busy.

I spent $13.04 at Target.

Our first cruise was a three-night DCL cruise that we did as a split-stay with WDW, to check out whether we would like it or not. I really wasn't sure about the whole cruise thing because we are not beach people at all, but this was at the time DCL was starting to offer more destination-based itineraries. Everyone absolutely loved the cruise and we booked the Panama Canal cruise while we were still on board the first cruise. Up until last year (when my kids' schedules got too unpredictable), we always had an upcoming reservation that we had booked on board. If you can cruise at non-peak times, DCL is not outrageously more expensive than the other cruise lines, especially given how much they offer in terms of the kids' clubs.

We flew to FLG but stayed 3 days and did those things. The ruins we visited were Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater, north of Flagstaff. Meteor Crater is also north, we did that one afternoon with my cousin and his family as a quick trip. We drove through the mountains through Sedona which was quite picturesque
