I love credit cards so much!

Got an email this morning from United MileagePlus:

Transfer your award miles and we'll waive the processing fee.

Don't let anyone miss out on your next chance to bring everyone together. For a limited time, we're waiving the processing fee for transferring miles. Help them get there and bask in the joy of making incredible memories.

This could be a good deal for households that want to consolidate their MileagePlus miles because usually the fee almost wipes out the value of the points.

Do you know when this ends? We only have a few (about 1500 between DH and I) but I would like to do this. Would wait until we accumulate more points though....

I don't want anyone to gasp at what I'm about to say :-). I'm trying to help my daughter out. She has a credit card with about a $7,000 balance and yes, she's paying significant interest on that every month. I'm hoping she could do a balance transfer to another card with 0% interest for XXX number of months. On Credit Karma her credit score is reported as fair (but high fair; close to good). She pays her bills every month, but she's in her early 20's and this is really her only credit card so I assume that plays into the credit score. Anyhoo, can anyone recommend what kind of credit card you think she would have good odds of being approved for that would give her that introductory balance transfer offer?

Idk how easy it is to get approved but Chase Slate has 0% for transfers if done within 60 days of account opening and 0% for 15 months.

I was a little too trigger happy.

I just logged into DW's account to try it, and the promo waives only the $30 processing fee, not the $7.50/500 miles fee.

ETA: At 1.5¢ per mile to transfer, that's about as much as a mile is actually worth.

My DH is the over organized packer. He hates the way I pack. I don’t fold things correctly, I don’t cram enough stuff in his size 13 shoes, etc. I pack DSs stuff, pull out all the clothes I need and put them in a pile. DH packs his clothes and mine (we usually use 1 suitcase) I mostly pack all the toiletries with DH asking every 5 minutes did you pack this, did you pack that etc. But he gets to carry/roll the big suitcase.

My dh is the packer too. I'm not allowed :) I just set it all out and he fits it together like a puzzle. I have to admit that he's actually really good. For a family of six, we travel with very few pieces of luggage. He's the same with a moving van. It's shocking how much he can fit in one.

Sorry for all you ladies who have dh's who aren't too keen on Disney vacations. My dh loves going and he loves everything Disney but the increased crowds the last few years are getting to him more and more. I think he might be at a point where he'd welcome a non-Disney vacation but we both know we would be disappointed. We really only get one big vacation a year so it's hard to give up Disney knowing it would be two years before we could get back.

That's awesome. Mine was 200 for $500 deposit, haven't seen a targeted one higher yet so I broke down and did it since they take CC funding up to 1k. I hoping that means sometime in the next few months they'll target us for the higher offer, because that's just my luck a better offer usually comes later, and I'll figure out how to get hubby to do it :)
The $400 checking bonus for Citizens bank is listed on doctor of credit. I just opened it this morning through the link on that website.

I have a notebook full of info, plus spreadsheets on my iPad. But DH would still be lost.
On a serious note, write everything down clearly. For 50 years, my dad did everything. Paid all bills, kept track of all accounts, utilities, etc. When he passed away 5 years ago, my mom was lost. She had never paid a bill in her life. He had a notebook full of accounts and passwords but things crossed out, added, updated. Not super organized. Months later I was still going thru the info. Even after 6 months, I found active bank accounts we hadn’t known about. I’m sure I still missed some.

I definitely have to do this...but my daughter will probably be the one to organize him...we are talking about a guy you will swear we don’t have something in the closet when he’s staring right at it.

They have started just an optional Friday morning practices and the real practices start at the beginning of August. There is a new thing this year...last weekend of July, all squirt teams in the SYTHL are req’d to attend a leveling tournament. They want to make sure really good teams aren’t playing down and less skilled teams aren’t trying to play up, etc. So the coach said after that, they have a coaches meeting in august (all teams in the SYTHL I think) and then we will know more about the tournament schedule. They did say we won’t play tournaments at Christmas or Thanksgiving, as they value family time more at this age. I was more worried about the weekend of 12/15. I know our first games are Labor Day weekend. No tourney info yet though. Season ends in late March I think. We are first year squirts. Last year, as mites we were limited travel, so this is all new to me.

ETA: not knowing anything is making it super hard to plan vacations most of the year. Fall break, weekend before thanksgiving, weekend before Christmas, Presidents’ Day, spring break, etc are all during the season. :headache:

That’s a great idea looking at the teams prior to the season...I use to hate it when you’d be on either end of a lopsided game. It is frustrating not being able to plan...we never went away during hockey season and told both sets of parents we probably wouldn’t see them on the weekends either unless they would like to attend a game.

generally, what time do Chase referral bonuses post? Referred DH last week, hoping to see the points pending today - nothing yet.

Guess who just got her first ever pin code for a Disney Paly stay and Dine offer????

Me! After 30 years of Disney visits!

I'm tempted to call and at least check out the price. Its good until 9/30/18.

Oh I forgot about these! I frequently got them. Would love to see if I get one before my November trip if it would be anymore off my current bill. Wonder how that would work with my current trip booked through Chase.

I just set it all out and he fits it together like a puzzle. I have to admit that he's actually really good.

DH is in charge of packing the cars, which he jokingly likes to tell me is because "men have better spatial reasoning and are better at packing things in cars." Which he knows will send me into a feminist rant the likes of which Ruth Bader Ginsburg has never seen

This is another reason I keep wanting to go back to Disney every year. Even though we all might hit a couple bumps in the roads during a Disney trip every now and then, by and large I know that I'm going to be in for a great vacation. There's going to be consistently good food and customer service, plenty for us to do, and the accommodations will be comfortable and, if they're not, somebody is definitely going to solve that problem for you.

Hi guys, I want to add a night to our Disney trip in October to go to the Halloween Party and I am going to tr to use my URs.
Can I book 1 night hotel only at Disney with chase? Does the hotel/room need to be available on Expedia? I only see the hotel that I want directly from Disney.
Also can chase book party tickets or just regular tickets?

Exactly! With us having 4 kids spread over 10/11 years, it can be hard to meet everyone where they are at in one vacation destination...My girls may be into Europe but not my boys...We'd all appreciate the beauty of the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone but after a day, I think a few would be bored...Sitting on a beach is entertaining for a day...Been to other theme parks and always leave wishing they were as good as Disney...We can't do anywhere that requires a lot of walking unless you can easily push wheels...NYC is an option but girls more into it than boys (same for DC)...So, Disney consistently is our pick. Always a good time even when there are a few hiccups :D

I called Cruise and Tours yesterday and booked a one night stay. Just have them go to the Disney website and tell them what you want. I haven’t personally gotten party tickets, but since they bought my regular tickets direct through Disney I would think they can buy any type of ticket Disney sells.

Glad to know they can book what Disney has available! Thank you!:dogdance:

Applied for Citi AA Biz and Citi is reviewing my application. Lol there has to be something about my name/info that I NEVER get auto approved for anything.

We've done GC twice now...so our plan is a quick 5 night trip to se Page AZ area. I've been wanting to get there for a while now... Love this area of the country..red rocks are my thing! just trying to decide which airport works best for SWA...I guess either Vegas or PHX are about 4 hours drive....
Flagstaff is a 25 min flight from PHX. Such a tiny airport I found it did save time, unless you want to make the drive. Page is 2 hrs from FLG
