I love credit cards so much!

How hard is it to pull up that 20k MR offer? I prefer the 3k spend so maybe I should be ok with that. I really never wanted to see another 5k Amex MSR again lol.

DoC's got a link to check if you're targeted: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amer...lus-20000-point-offer-2x-purchases-50000-cap/

I keep debating about having hubby check now or wait until we're ready for a card. I'm afraid if he checks now and he is targeted I'll want to apply for it now :p But 5k is a little :scared: for us at the moment.

@DaveL, @speedyfishy @miztressuz should I be concerned? Two weeks ago I made the reservation with Disney. Yesterday I called Chase Cruise and Tours. Had to explain about 3 times that I wanted to transfer existing Disney reservation to Disney to pay with UR's. TA (not Melissa or Leon) said they could transfer the reservation to them but had to put me on an "extended hold" no less than 3 times to check. Then she said about the form. I said let me give you my email. She said "no I will just fill it out do I have permission to sign your name?" Then she said she would contact Disney and get back with me in a day or two. My experience sounds a little different than what you all experienced...

Am I crazy... or is there no MSR bonus?

That's up in the air. Not even a good rumor going on for it that I found (not that I looked terribly hard lately). They're playing that one close to the vest. DoC hasn't updated his guess since he posted it in April.

I NEVER get targeted credit card mailers (apparently the cc companies are in cahoots with Disney and don't like me although I love them). Yesterday when I got home there was a mailer from Amex on bank accounts. I was excited...I haven't ventured into the bank account bonus realm but thought if it was a good deal maybe I should. And the bonus? Nothing. Just deposit money into Amex account. Does Amex really think that they are that fabulous that their bank accounts don't even need a bonus?

They may have the form electronic now and that could be why they're asking for permission to sign the name since it's an electronic signature. My experience with Chase is a NCL cruise where I filled out a paper form and emailed it to NCL for them to do the transfer, per NCL's requirements. The last time I transferred a Disney package to a TA (not Chase!) it was a paper form that I signed and emailed back to the TA who submitted it to Disney. I think the folks here have said that Chase submitted the transfer on their behalf as well, so that fits with how I remember it.

But if you haven't started the transfer process yet and you're not comfortable with the agent you could HUCA.

I know, right? Last time I got an email or mailer for an AmEx bank account it wasn't even a competitive interest rate or anything! I found no redeeming quality to the account or the "offer". I'm not entirely sure they're really trying.

Maybe you have to opt-in?

I definitely did not have a form emailed to me and I don’t remember even her asking for my permission to fill out a form, but maybe she did. It took about 2 1/2 weeks for them to call me back saying they had the reservation. I was getting worried so I called them a few times to make sure they didn’t forget about me. I got an email from Disneyland saying I’m confirmed now and paid in full so I guess it worked out.

This here is the form, I had to fill out the top left and middle and send it back, I presume she filled out the top right and sent it to Disney. It took about a week for Disney to process it, Go to MDE and look at your reservation, the "Make a Payment" option will vanish the instant Disney processes it. Was funny because I noticed that and then an hour later Melissa emailed me.

I was targeted, and then I wasn’t. Haven’t been able to pull it since. Story of my relationship with Amex.

Ouch, ok I won't try until we're ready then. I'd be too ticked if we couldn't get when we went back to apply later.

Thanks for the link. It seems like I have opted in before but I will try again. Ironic part is that my husband gets offers all the time, but since May of last year he has had an active fraud alert that I just renew every 90 days. No matter what bureau I do the initial fraud alert with they say it means he won't receive any mailers. And yet he does...

Not targeted either. I think I have tried to pull that up before and never gotten it. I really am not sure I want to be targeted. Sounds awful but that 5k spend seems daunting right now.

8/26 - Marriott Business Premier Plus releases (with upgrade options/bonus offers for existing Marriott Biz cardholders?)
i get the feeling that Marriott Biz cards would probably keep their Marriott biz cards since a cross from chase --> Amex would be a lot of trouble.

Am I crazy... or is there no MSR bonus?
its rumored to have 100k bonus points atm.

I totally get you about those $5k Amex MSRs. I was upset for about a hot minute when I couldn’t pull up the 20k MR offer again, but then reminded myself the higher offer carried a higher MSR. It’s not so bad because you’re spending an extra $2k for 10k more MR at a base earn of 2x MR/$1. I get that’s like 7x MR/$1, but I don’t have immediate plans for my MRs. And that’s $2k that I could probably be earning 3x or 5x UR on Chase’s cards, on top of valuing URs more and actually using them on my CSR where 5x is worth 7.5x. Not to mention Amex isn’t accepted everywhere and I have to watch out for anything that might upset the RATs.

Did I read somewhere that we will be able to transfer MR's to marriott 1:1 after 8/1? Or did I dream that lol??

100K sounds tempting. What am I thinking? We just got 2 cards! :rotfl:
