I love credit cards so much!

Definitely no risk. We got a refund the first couple years that we upgraded but the last few years we have more than covered the executive membership so now we are at a moot point... :)
DO you have to ask them for the refund? I need to check on this..

As I wrap up my spg biz min spend, I’m considering my next card. Currently 2/24, will be down to 0/24 come August. My recent cards are 8/2016 csr and cfu, 7/2017 cip, 3/2018 spg biz.

Thinking ink cash is a good next step.

Educate me on getting a second chase business card- do I use the same “business” or do I need a new one?

My sister has been using a debit card for all of her purchases and recently starting asking my opinion about a CC to get. I suggested the CIP since her biggest expense is daycare and they don't take CC, so I told her about Plastiq. She finally came around to the "business" card idea, but then got the 30 day notice when she applied last night. Now she's freaking out! That's not necessarily a bad thing, right? I gave her the number to check the status, but it's still saying 30 days.

its gonna be hard to get a new SSN! ;)
you can also register with the IRS for an EIN number, then using that during your application. Company name will still be your name. I dont think you will have a problem using your SSN though. At least, thats what i recall.

its the weekend/holiday. It probably needs a human eye to look over. might have to wait till tues morning for some changes. 30 days usually means the auto approval didnt like something so it needs help.
give her some tea and tell her to relax...

Thanks! Her mailing address is a PO Box, so she put both the PO Box and the physical address in different parts of the app, so I'm hoping that's all that it is. I can't imagine why else she wouldn't have been auto approved.

I get the 30 day message on every Chase card I apply for :) Don't panic until it says 7-10 days.

Sorry catching up and I know someone asked me about the CIP charges
They questioned a few random charges on a statement. Luckily the card was used for a true business. Grocery store, gas, electric bill, and directtv. The rep was nice and approved the charges. Since then I haven’t put anything on that card that’s not for business to be on the safe side.

so strange, you sure it isnt like a fraud alert and them asking so?

The CIC is a great card! And it still is offering a 50k UR signup bonus! If you've been following along, we like the CIC because it earns us 5x UR at office supply stores, where you can purchase third-party gift cards, including Amazon, Disney, and gas, and Visa gift cards when on sale; and 5x UR on internet/cable/phone for our tv, internet, and cell phone bills, Netflix, Hulu, and on eGift card apps like Gyft and Swych through PayPal checkout.

With 10 months since your first Chase biz card application (the CIP in 7/17), and that being your last Chase card, you're more than safe to apply for the CIC. Since this is only your second Chase biz card and a different biz product, you can use the same "business" -- apply using your name, as a sole proprietorship, using your first and last name only as the business name, your SSN as the Tax ID number.

I recently got the CIC as my third Chase biz card, all as a sole proprietor using my name as the business name and my SSN as the Tax ID number. My first biz card was for some consultancy work I do occasionally, but my second and third biz cards were for my eBay "retail" business. Like @Albort mentioned, a lot of churners will go out and sign up for an EIN for a "new" biz so that they can get a second CIP after they already got a first under their SSN (gets around getting denied for same biz holding the same product); and assuming you can get 2-3 biz cards under your SSN, they'll get more EINs to bring their Chase biz card count up to 4 or 5.

The majority of Chase business card apps are not "insta-approved" and get the we'll let you know our decision in 30 days message. Like most business card applicants, the best your sister can do at this point is check the automated line for a status change: "2 weeks" is looking good, "approved" is obviously good, "7-10 days" is likely denial.

The key to Chase business card apps is not to overthink it; keep it simple. If she only has a "business," I hope she applied as a sole proprietor using her first and last name as the business name and her SSN as the Tax ID number. We've had a lot of cases where someone will apply as a sole proprietor "business" and then use a fictitious business name (not use their legal name) -- Chase will have a hard time verifying that such a business exists if it's not registered as a dba somewhere and will reject the application unless you can provide verifying documentation. By applying with your own name and address, the only documents you typically need for verification are a driver's license and utility bill with your address on it if it ever came to that.

Good luck! Hopeful for good news, but we're here to help if it goes the other way.

Also sounds like fraud alert type questions to me.

To add, my DH was denied the first time. I cleaned up some errors on his credit report, waited 31 days, and reapplied. Success! So even if denied, it stings but don’t give up just try again.

With Chase it can sit there for days & then go 7-10. You just don’t know. Been where you are, not fun! Dangers of churning with those you know personally.

Sounds exactly like a typical fraud alert interaction with a Chase rep. They did the same thing on a CFU I called on about fraud charges.

I’m paid in full too but thought that didn’t matter. I was planning on upgrading in August. And I believe it doesn’t matter if you pay with gift cards but would also love to know if someone knows for sure.
Can someone here put together the steps they took to book/payfor/transfer a cruise booking? I mean thru Costco or using UR (or both together?) or am I confusing the two methods? I'm trying to get a picture of how everyone is saving on the cruise things, and are these all Disney cruises,or any cruise?

With no trips planned this holiday weekend, we've been playing tourist in the city. Yesterday, we spent an afternoon at Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. Since @SBWB48 is headed this way next month and is staying in the area, she might want to check out the Musée Mécanique at Fisherman's Wharf, like Princess Mia took her grandmother in The Princess Diaries. The museum's current location is not the same as in the film -- it had to move several years ago -- but it still has a lot of the old arcade games you'd have seen on screen. It's free to visit, but bring small bills to get change for the games. And also swing by the docks next to Pier 39 to watch the sea lions for a bit. They're fun to watch and some might remind you a little of Fluke, Rudder, and Gerald from Finding Dory.

ETA: And Mister Jiu's, which I mentioned in my earlier suggestions of things to do in SF, got some fresh love recently with a 3.5 star review from the Chronicle.

Yep, she applied as a sole proprietor using first and last name. She was sitting right next to me and I walked her through it. DH and I have always gotten instant approvals except for my SPG Biz which took about 10 minutes before I was approved. So this made me a bit nervous. Glad to hear it's normal and hopefully it gets approved!
