I've been bored tonight and was playing around on award hacker. Like a lot of you I'd like to take my family to Hawaii in the next year or two, so I was just looking to see what kind of points we'd need for this trip. This is the first time that I've been on award hacker and I picked a couple of dates randomly this summer just to have dates to play with. It came back as I could fly from Atlanta to Honolulu for 25K Korean Airmiles. Now I know that I can use Delta Miles to fly Korean or I can transfer UR points to Korean. It looks like UR points transfer 1:1 to Korean so it would be 25K UR points RT per ticket. However when I pull up the same dates on Delta its 92K Skymiles. It seems too good to be true, that it would be a no brainer to use the UR points. What am I missing?

I have read about this before. Here is the link. It is complicated and makes my brain want to pop, but you may be more patient with it than I am.

Good luck with the double dip! I have always applied on weekends/evenings but some here suggest you apply during business hours so if you need to call in for approval, you have people there to answer the phones. Since tomorrow is a holiday, it might be best to wait until Tuesday. Again, I've never ran into this issue, but I do understand the logic.

As far as DISchurners, you can click the link of anyone. The drama that was being discussed was on a reddit forum and was not here at all. There are a handful of people who post both here and on that reddit forum so they were just sharing what was going on over there. This thread is drama free :)
Thanks. I was going to apply tonight but the evening ran away from me... I may wait until Tuesday. I just need the cards to arrive for a big expense June 10. The Marriott card took 9-10 days to arrive.

No rules or drama with the DISchurners support links :) Pick one from your own criteria, but it would probably make sense to look for someone who's helped you out either here and/or other threads. I just click, make sure the page says something about my friend and then fill out the application.

There was drama on the larger, public sub-reddit for churning. And a few weeks back there was joking and pretend shunning of some folks here who admitted to forgetting to use a support link in their excitement to apply. But all in good fun and all light hearted, no one was really shunned :D

I don't know if I could be brave enough to double dip the Sapphire cards on a holiday, not knowing if the reconsideration line staff is fully available. But there's been a few reports that the approvals for both cards have to happen on the same day, not necessarily the applications. So if for some reason you don't get the first approved right away, wait on the second application until it is and then make sure you get that one approved on the same day. I don't have the nerves to do that :) Good luck!
Yes, I was planning on supporting links from people who were helpful here, just wanted to make sure I didn't break any rules.

Definitely spunds like I should wait until Tuesday!

Question about using dischurners referral links. Do I just click and apply? Is there a certain rule about whose I click on? Sounds like there was drama recently and it went way over my head!

Thanks!

hahahaha, that was on Reddit. We are friendly here. No one will attack you. No rules on who to click. Some people choose a random link, others choose a link for someone who has helped them alot.

Good luck with the DD! It is scary how fast some MSRs get knocked out at my house too.

The CSR is sent UPS overnight, I got mine in 2 days and I think many have reported here the same. I didn't even ask for it, I guess since you pay so much for the card they figure you deserve something :)
The CSP is sent normal mail and I got it about one week after application, I applied on a Monday and I think I got it the following Monday. If you need both you could call to see about getting it expedited.

We just got our new Marriott card in the mail yesterday and put a HUGE dent in the MS within 6 hours, LOL! I have 2 birthdays and some house projects coming up and I was waiting for the card to arrive to make the purchases. DH applied for this one while I was figuring out what cards I wanted (totally our personalities - he jumped and I researched and debated).

Now that we are on our way to meeting that MS, I am going to double dip CS cards tomorrow.

I think you may have to wait till Tuesday because tomorrow is a holiday. I don’t know if you’d be able to call Chase

Good to know re: CSR, thanks!

Yeah, I could have met the entire MS yesterday, but saving one expense to meet MS in a CS card. We have an expensive month, which is actually what got me thinking about updating our cards to make the most of it!

Thanks for asking this - but NO worries...there is ZERO drama here, lol. All of that drama happened on the main churning group on Reddit (which a few of us are active on as well).

I'm sure you've had some great interactions with folks on the thread here...if somebody was helpful to you I'd look to see if you can support them. If multiple people were helpful, maybe pick from them at random. Whomever receives a click from you will certainly be grateful.

EDIT: I see numerous others already answered this, haha. I'm late to the party tonight :)

I would suggest waiting until Tuesday am...just in case you need to call :)

Which is so unlike you lol!
I had a busy week last week at work (odd for me) and the r/churning drama actually took a little toll on me with this hobby. I don't like when churning causes stress...so in a way I'm just distancing myself somewhat from my job and hobby (both of which are banking related) for the long weekend to recharge the batteries.

I'm sorry. R/churning just seems stressful. I sure hope this forum is fun and rejuvenating rather than stressful. Hopefully this nice, long weekend is good for you (and your batteries :D ).

heh, ive stepped back quite a bit there, i still read through questions thread and discussion thread here and now... honestly, ive joined a few private groups and i think those places are a lot more chill the /r/churning...
meanwhile, i applied for a loan just for 12,500 samsung pay points... :\ the dumb things u do...

The cruise is only $2k and we don't buy that much there. But if they refund, then there is really no risk I guess. Will check it out.

Definitely no risk. We got a refund the first couple years that we upgraded but the last few years we have more than covered the executive membership so now we are at a moot point... :)

only drama here is all the jealously of everyone taking amazing trips! @calypso726 im especially looking at you! ;)

Ok if you’re gonna go all “Green Jelly” on me, then I’m going to leave you with some black and white and shades of red. Hi! All the way from the Panda research and breeding center in Chengdu, China!
