I love credit cards so much!

So, Award Wallet now tracks the $300 CSR credit? Interesting... I added FILs account to my Award Wallet and saw it. Refreshing me and DH's accounts doesn't add it, maybe once ours reset they will be added.

There is an Undercover Tourist DL sweepstakes and I thought I would share. If you use my link, I get more entries in the contest. I was thinking that this would be a nice way to pay for our DL trip in October. :D

HERE IS MY LINK

ETA: I know, wishful thinking . . . URs are my backup plan. :rotfl2:

So the 80k UR bonus from my CIP finally showed up as pending in my account. I guess I have to wait until the next statement cycle before I have access to them. Good thing I should have enough UR points to book our SW flights at the end of the month.

We have a little less than $500 left on DH's CIC and IHG cards respectively. And still have $5k on my SPG Biz and $3k on my new CIC. I would probably be worried about having $9k MSR to meet, but with the basement finish, I know that we will easily meet the spend on everything very soon.

Anyone that knows Amex, should I link my NEW biz card to my current account or make a new profile. Is Amex like chase and recommends keeping the accounts separate? Any reason to separate into 2 account.

Does the 5/24 only apply to Chase cards? So you could essentially open say an American express card? A I getting that right? If not then if you can only open 5 cards every 24 months...... how do you do that? and then do you just close the ones who are over 24 months?

Chase is looking at your credit report to determine the 5/24 count. If you open anything that shows up on your credit report, it counts towards the 5/24 status with Chase. Amex and Chase don't report business cards to your personal CR so it's how many people get around only opening 5 new cards in 2 years. I think Doctor of Credit did a very fair write up on how the rule works if you want to read all through that:
Chase 5/24 Rule Explained In Detail – Everything You Need To Know
(several folks did it here too but DoC's was easier to find :D)

But that's pretty much why most people recommend going for Chase cards first because, 1. they have that inflexible rule that pretty set in stone and 2. UR points are so flexible, and easy to earn, that you don't want to lock yourself out of them when getting started.

It's a rolling look back so you don't have to close cards. In fact, closing a card doesn't take it off your report so even closed cards should affect your status since they're looking at 'open' dates.

My SO’s $200 PNC bonus posted. Our direct deposit was a Chase transfer and I did 10 .50 amazon reloads. The requirements were met May 2nd.
Chase account? Like a chase checking? I need to do a few more bank bonuses. Gotta get on it but can’t have direct deposit requirements bc too hard to change at work.

We need a light weight travel car seat for our plane trips with DD this fall and next year. DH set his heart on a specific car seat with a specific design that is only sold at Walmart, but it has been out of stock for a few months. I have been checking back every few days and today it was finally back in stock!

Used PP to check out, so we just capped out our CF bonus for the quarter too!

Do you think DD will like it?

5/24 can be tough to understand at first.

The “5” includes ALL new card accounts (approved) appearing on your personal credit report (whether open or now closed) from any issuer. You need to be “under 5” to get approved for most Chase cards. Since some business cards do not report to your personal credit report, they will not count against your 5 :)

The 5/24 only applies to Chase meaning other card issuers don’t care if you have more than 5 applications in 24 months. All personal cards will count towards 5/24. So if you start out and get an Amex personal card you will be at 1/24.

We recommend getting the Chase cards first until you hit 5/24 then move onto other cards.

You also can’t hit chase too fast will multiple applications or they will shut you down so we recommend applying for Amex Biz cards in between Chase apps. Biz cards don’t count towards 5/24.
Just a small critique here - don’t use “applications” as I see people get confused thinking a declined app would count. I know what you meant though :) “approved new card accounts reporting on your personal credit report” lol

Thanks! I fixed it. I’m going to blame my mistake on it being the first day of my bar prep.

I haven't had good direct deposit options either. But I successfully got my Chase checking bonus today (yay!) and it's either one of two things that triggered it:

1. A $10 transfer from a credit union account

OR

2. A $9 deposit from TopCashBack.

I did them both last week since I was running out of time for my direct deposit to count for the bonus, so I'm not sure which one did the job.

I use the TCB portal frequently for online shopping (after checking cashbackmonitor of course) and it was nice to have the option of a direct deposit, plus I had the choice of doing a partial payout so I didn't have to use all my cash back funds (saving some for future direct deposits!). It took a few days for my Chase account to be verified, but overall it was pretty painless (except for the waiting).
