I love credit cards so much!

What about the Sheraton and Westin on maui? Those are what I am considering.
Sorry I can use google, LOL!

So those are currently cat 6 for SPG at 60k-75k per night. Since they aren’t using Cat 8 until after Feb 2019 at worst these properties will be 60k per night (NEW Cat 7) at time of conversion. I’d assume they won’t go down to NEW Cat 6 but it they did that would be an awesome win.

Thanks - I've thought about mattress running, but generally when i crunch numbers, the MS route is cheaper. But perhaps with the right promotion, it will work. Will keep an eye out.

One thing I'm not clear on is when the elite night posts from the 3K credit card spend. I'm thinking I should complete all spend by 10/31 just to ensure the night posts by year end.

I'm not sure either when the elite night posts since it's not my card. But I would think it'd be within a few days of the CC points posting to the account that push it over. We haven't put that much spend on the card yet this year to know. (even though it's Metal it couldn't compete with hubby getting two new cards a few months ago :) )
Since it's not my card I didn't religiously follow it, and hubby is a haphazard points accumulator (as in if it vaguely looks right it probably is, what more do I need to know), so I don't think he'd be helpful but I'll ask anyway. I was just happy to find out every once in a while how many points we had in the Marriott account... so I could spend them :p

Popping in on my lunch break to share that I saw the targeted CIP sign-up offer for 120K UR points in the wild today. It was a mailer sent to my friend's business (I'm filling in there temporarily) stuffed under a stack of catalogs and Bed Bath and Beyond coupons. I went all goggle-eyed and she shrugged and said "Oh yeah. I got that card last year. I just cash in the rewards to pay off the credit card bill."

Has anyone had Chase remove an AU from a Sapphire product and then successfully applied for a Sapphire card for that same AU later? Just concerned that I may run into issues since I added DH as an AU on my CSP. He shows it as "closed" on his credit report, and I want to double dip CSR/CSP for him.

I kept getting an offer on my Amex cards for $200 back after a $1000 at Autonation. So, made me think they may allow some of the purchase on a CC.

Schomp Honda in Littleton allows none. However, we've bought every vehicle we've had dating back to 2002. So, we bought from them again last year. I just love their CS and fairness.
I went to Groove Toyota when I was car shopping a few years ago, and was completely ignored. Even after I approached someone, to get the internet sales person I had been communicating with about being there around that time that day, he basically said Hi and shuffled me off, didn't even send another sales person with me. We were there at least an hour and that was the only interaction I had with anyone... I was definitely being judged on my age.

In an ideal world, buying my first car after college, would have come after the hand me down from my parents was on it's last leg and I would have watched for something a few years old with low miles, biding my time. Instead due to family issues, I was desperately in need of a vehicle ASAP and pretty much willing to sign my life away on anything with less than a 10% interest rate - I had a guy at another dealership tell me that because I had never had a car loan, I couldn't do better than that... as I sat there with my Transunion score of 720 that he'd pulled, and next to DH who'd gotten 1.9% for his car the previous year with a 680s score... I'd decided if I was going to end up with a stupid new car, then I was buying the color I wanted with a sun roof, and Groove was one of the only dealers in the area with that car... Needless to say, that's not where I ended up getting mine.

I am a newbie to churning, but want to dip my foot into the business card world before the CIC offer expires, but I still have a few questions.

My "business" this last year only had $120 in cash revenue, but I had a nonmonetary exchange valued at $3800 (the company leasing my space upgraded my solar system to offset the majority of their payment). Can I count both as revenue? And if I can only use the cash, do you think $120 is too little in revenue to be approved?

If using my SS#, does Chase look at my available credit (currently at 38% of income) for a business card? That will be lowered once i cancel my SW Plus, but I haven't done so yet (I've only had the card 10 months). If so, do you think 38% is too high for approval?

With Barclay, when you apply for a card with a good bonus, you don't know if you're going to get approved for the card you actually wanted, or if Barclay will decide you're not worthy of that card and approve you for an inferior card (i.e. no bonus) that you had no interest in.

YIKES! Good to know!

There aren’t rumors that the SPG point bonuses are coming back. When do you need to make the reservations?

I def saw one of the blogs mention a possible improved offer right after the last offer went away. Can't remember where I saw that, but I am hoping the rumor was right, because I'd like to get the personal for DH.

Also, kids could throw off the savings plan. lol

Thats an understatement.

I told DH that he gets to ask that as we car shop

If you are a Costco member, (or if you aren't get a membership), use their auto buying program. It was such a wonderful experience and we got a great deal with zero hassle.

And when does bonus for CIP usually post? I met the spend April 27 my statement should be closing within a day or two. I don't see the points pending in the "Earning on Next Statement" section.

They showed up on "next earnings" for my DHs CIP pretty quickly...just a couple days. This was just last week or the week before.

Nooooooo...

My husband used to do that with his Discover cashback.

I'd count the $3800 on my app, personally. Don't know if that is the right answer or not.

Yes they will look at the current credit extended to you. When are you cancelling the SW plus? You may get approved with the 38% but if you want to ensure auto approval you could decrease some of your credit limits first.

Back before I activated DW as Player 2, I added her as an AU to my CSR. Shortly thereafter, I called in to have her removed as an AU and applied her for her own CSR a few days later. No problem; she was auto approved. The AU CSR did show up under closed accounts on her credit report, but that didn’t seem to matter. I did eventually get Chase to remove the AU from her reports, but not before she got her own CSR.

Perfect! For some reason I just got irrationally terrified that DH wouldn't be able to get the CSR and that all of my plans would be ruined LOL. I removed him as an AU 4 months ago, but for some reason I was just really concerned they'd say something about it and deny him.

Any chance you could get him a CF and he'd do the rotating categories? DH has several cards in his name that I've applied for, but he just keeps the CF and my CSP in his wallet and uses those for everything. I put a label on his CF whenever the quarter changes so he remembers to use it then, and then just puts everything else on the CSP. Although you're not doing too bad with 1.5% back!

He really doesn't spend a lot on the usual categories that are usually offered. If they had home improvement or auto parts stores, I'm sure he could max those out easily. I may try to talk him into applying for a CF that I can use (without being an authorized user), I could max out the grocery store and 4th quarter Christmas related category easily. I hadn't really thought of this before, thanks for the suggestion.

I was planning on cancelling it next month anyway, so I'll just call today and cancel it.

DH is an AU on this SW card. Does anyone know if cancelling it will remove his */24 spot, or would I have to have the AU removed and his history swept before closing it (he's only at 1/24, so it's not a big deal either way)

OK, so I am looking at this Westin Maui, Christmas break...

It tells me 20,714/nt. (Does that account for 5th night free already?) Assuming that incl the 5th night free the total SPG points needed is 144,998...or 434,994 marriott points.

A night/flight package with 120k air miles and 7nt stay is:
Cat 7 330k marriott points
Cat 6 300k marriott points

Am I looking at this correctly? Because it is cheaper to do the nights/flights than just the hotel...and I still get airline miles. I must be doing something wrong.

Even if DH’s AU CSR shows up under closed accounts, Chase may still count it against 5/24. If DH is under 5/24 even if you count the AU CSR, then it doesn’t matter going into a 5/24 Rule application or double dip. But you’ll still want to get rid of the AU CSR from DH’s reports so it doesn’t count.

You’ve removed DH as an AU. Now, from DH’s account, send a SM to Chase to explain that he’s been removed as an AU from your CSR account ending in numbers xxxx, but he sees it is still on his credit reports, say that he is not and has never been responsible for the charges on that card, and request Chase remove reference to that account from his credit reports with all the bureaus to which Chase reports.

I think you'd need to remove him as AU first.

When will you get your anniversary points from SW? You may want to let those post before cancelling.

My anniversary isn't until 6/25, so I'd miss the CIC deal that seems like it will be ending 5/20
