Ugh! Me too! I had to cancel a Hilton Homewood Suites Reservation and it wouldn't cancel online (despite being fully refundable), called in got passed to a supervisor, said they'd call back in a day, they didn't, I called again... Ugh, it was a pain but in the end they finally got it cancelled, said they had to call the hotel and talk to the manager to cancel it manually. I got my cash back in about 2 weeks but the points took another 5 days or so to credit.Yes, a hotel a few times. Mostly it was ok, but one time took like 2 weeks of calling to get it right, lots of back and forth,I don't know why it wasn't showing canceled, and I had to wait like 3 weeks to see my points back finally. But other times it was ok. You just have to call,vs. doing things online. and be SURE you take screenshots with 'fully refundable' on your page, not all things are
ETA: this particular booking still shows as a trip in my UR portal (and not as cancelled). But since it's pre-pay and I got my cash & points back already I'm not worried.
If Chase has to manually cancel your reservation do not plan on seeing those points back in your account for 2 weeks (3 to be on the safe side).Has anyone ever cancelled/changed a reservation they made through the UR portal with points? Is it easy? I have made several hotel reservations, I think I am good with those. I am ready to do my car, and for some reason I am hesitant to hit submit. In my experience, car rates can fluctuate a lot, and in the past, I have rebooked several times through the company website very easily. I am not sure how easy it would be to rebook through the UR portal if needed. Any insight? I am looking at $657 (or 43853 points) for a 12 day minivan if I hit submit today. Also I know that the CSR has some kind of relationship with National and Avis, I believe, has that benefited anyone?
