I love credit cards so much!

This is us too. We cannot do two min spends at the same time, and it really even takes us close to the full 3 mos to get our spend done as we do no MS'ing at all. I feel like it is taking us forever to churn cards.

The SPG is our next card too. WHat do mean that it takes Amex a couple of months to report? I am eyeing the Ink+ also.

Ink+ is closed for signup. Ink Cash is just as good, but no transferring.

All options considered I'd say the easiest course is earning enough UR points with the new cc applications to transfer to BA and fly AA or AS. If you have your points in place a year out from travel then you may be able to find enough award space on saver miles with AA.

Ive never redeem but you would recommend BA over KE?

Is it likely my husband would be approved if he applied for a SW business, a SW personal AND an Ink Cash over the course of a few months? He owns his own business, and is 1/24 for CC. Excellent credit.

Also, how long do credit card offers usually stay good for? I'm afraid the SW business card will drop from 60k.

And sorry for all of the questions!

Chase has a 2/30 rule, 2 card only within 30 days. im not sure if the Ink Cash would affect much since if your applying with ur business, it might be different.
Chase lately has been pretty good at spilling the beans when it comes to bonus devaluation. i wouldnt worry too much.

Ack!! When did that happen!?! Hmm, so the Ink Cash...You mean you cannot transfer the points to another UR account? Only cashback?

Has anyone ever cancelled/changed a reservation they made through the UR portal with points? Is it easy? I have made several hotel reservations, I think I am good with those. I am ready to do my car, and for some reason I am hesitant to hit submit. In my experience, car rates can fluctuate a lot, and in the past, I have rebooked several times through the company website very easily. I am not sure how easy it would be to rebook through the UR portal if needed. Any insight? I am looking at $657 (or 43853 points) for a 12 day minivan if I hit submit today. Also I know that the CSR has some kind of relationship with National and Avis, I believe, has that benefited anyone?

$657 seems kind of expensive to me. I rented an SUV for a month for my honeymoon and it cost $800. Where are you going with the car? Have you looked at non-airport locations (sometimes much cheaper)? Also, if you have a Costco membership, check out the rates through them, they are always the best that I can find.

As to the cancellation, I haven't cancelled, but I did ask regarding a cruise reservation and I was told that the points will be credited right back to your account if you cancel a reservation that has no pre-pay restrictions. Not sure how long that would take though.

Yes. It was painless.

I've been hesitant to do car rentals with UR points too. I did one with National which I didn't have to cancel. I did put my Emerald club number in but when I got there, I was told I didn't have Emerald aisle due to booking through the portal.
I usually get better rates through costco and pay with my Capital one card to "erase" the charge.

same here... u also lose out on any of the credit card insurances too. like CSR's primary auto coverage.

If I pay through the CSR portal with points I don't get the CSR primary auto coverage?

As long as the points you used to pay with are coming out of your CSP or CSR account then you still get the primary insurance. You also have to decline the rental insurance from the rental car company.

haha, i thought u dont get coverage. a phone call to chase would probably solve this problem...

According to MMS and TPG that's the deal. They are usually on point. No pun intended. But of course a phone call to Chase wouldn't be amiss.

Well, shoot. I had my DH apply for the SW Business card. It gave the "could take 30 days" message. Does that mean denied?!

I applied 2 weeks ago and got a rejection letter yesterday citing too many cards opened in 24 months. I only applied for 3/24 but was listed as a user on two my husband opened.
Hope you have better luck!

In my case it did not. I applied for the personal and business the same day and they. They approved the business (after a 30 day review notice), but denied the personal. I followed the advise here and on reddit and called recon (after I received the letter) and was approved in a few minutes for the personal also. Good luck!

This gives me hope! He is 1/24 with excellent credit and is the president of a corporation. Seemed like a no brained, but I did warn him that he may have to call to verify info. He wasn't thrilled, but not too bothered so I am confident it will work out.

THE next step is for him to apply for the SW personal card and then he qualifies for the companion pass thru 2018! I hope he doesn't have a problem with that one!

I decided to apply for the Chase Marriott card and put the app in on Thursday. I didn't get an instant approval. When I called the status line, it said 7-10 days, which I remembered some had said was a bad sign. So I put in a secure message regarding the application and got a response on Saturday morning to call the fraud department, but it wasn't open until this morning so I had to wait. I just got off the call. They simply asked my name, asked who I had added as an authorized user to the account and send me a code to my cell phone to read back to them. Then he said, congratulations you have been approved with a stupid high credit limit.

I plan to use the Marriott points by transferring to SPG and booking at the Gritti Palace in Venice for our October 2018 trip. I have a few work trips coming up that should help me reach my $5k spend pretty easily. I am also looking forward to holding onto this card for the free night each year after the card anniversary. This should prove very useful in the future.

Yes, a hotel a few times. Mostly it was ok, but one time took like 2 weeks of calling to get it right, lots of back and forth,I don't know why it wasn't showing canceled, and I had to wait like 3 weeks to see my points back finally. But other times it was ok. You just have to call,vs. doing things online. and be SURE you take screenshots with 'fully refundable' on your page, not all things are

still earns UR points, cant transfer to partners without a Premie. no af

But you can transfer points from the Ink Cash to a personal premium card like the CSP or CSR. You don't have to have a premium business card, correct?

Yep! And you can confirm this by logging into your Chase account, go to Ultimate Rewards, in the upper right click the points and your accounts will show as well as "combine points" on the bottom. They transfer instantly! We just transferred points from our no-fee Ink to our CSR and got the 1.5x redemption rate for a travel booking! (We had no idea this would even be an option when we opened CSR, and we like this option so much it may be enough to get us to keep one of our CSRs due to the spending we put on our Ink.)
