Now my family knows we travel hack but don't really pay close attention to what I am or am not doing. So when she sent the video, it was kind of surreal to reply that not only are we flying on that plane in suites class, the actual seats mentioned in the video, 1F and 2F are our seats!

have read a bunch of ppl who reviewed SQ new suites... it doesnt seem too good. I think most people say that the bed is super hard, you cant eat with your SO if u wanted to.
Still, its a freaking room in the sky and just saying you fly it is a huge braggin rights.

The CIP is perfect for you. If you go in branch your DH can ask to speak to a Business Relationship Manager. He would get 100,000 UR for $5,000 in spend. That can be redeemed for $1,000 cash or is worth $1,250 when booking travel through the chase portal. I’d recommend your DH getting this and then having him refer you. I’m sure you help with his business.

This card earns 3URs for travel, shipping, internet, cable, phone and advertising. It earns 1UR for every other purchase.

The freedom earns 5URs for rotating categories.

The freedom unlimited is 1.5 UR on everything.

There is also the Sapphire Line you may want to check out.

If you don’t want to go in branch for the CIP consider using a link on our Reddit DiSChurners group. Message Albort or SouthFayetteFan with your Reddit name. You can post your links there for the cards you have as well.
Thanks I do not mind going in branch but prefer online if I get the same points.

When you say book through chase portal how does this work? Is it say like Amex portal. You have to book hotel and stuff through them as the middle man? Like say AAA.

How easy is it to get approved for these cards.

It is open to everyone. I have also seen DPs of people getting the bonus without being in a target state but I haven’t tried that.
Does it work with anything besides actual direct deposit. It takes weeks for my employer to change mine.

The online offer is 80k points, in branch 100k.
The UR portal is like Expedia. Plus they have a Cruise department you can call in to book WDW tickets, rooms, packages. You can also transfer to airlines or book air directly through UR portal. Transfer partners include United, Southwest, Hyatt and Marriott.

Approval is prett easy as long as you’ve opened less than 5 cards in the past 24 months (5/24)
My DH just got approved with a business revenue of $2500

t.
What is the approval rate on this card? I have a brach less than 5 minutes from my home so going in is no issue. How many points do I earn per dollar spent?
Do I need anything extra to apply for a business card?

What can these points be used for? How can I redeem?
Points can be redeemed for cash, travel or transferred to travel partners.
You can transfer Ultimate Rewards points to 9 airline programs (British Airways, Flying Blue, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Southwest, United, Virgin Atlantic and the more recent additions of Aer Lingus and Iberia) and four hotel programs (Hyatt, IHG, Marriott and Ritz-Carlton).

Do you have a Buisness EIN? If not you apply as a sole proprietorship and just use your name as the business name and social security number as tax identification number. If you have an EIN and registered business that can work too but isn’t necessary. You can get two CIP’s if you have an EIN one under your social one under the EIN.

The branch has the 100k offer. Online is 80k. You need a Business Relationship Manager and not all branches have one so maybe call and set up an appointment and see if they have the offer.

The portal is kind of like a middle man. You go and search for the travel you want to book on your app or website and it will deduct the points. If you want a vacation package for Disney or a cruise you can call in and they will book directly through Disney for you.

Most people don’t get an instant approval for the CIP. It tends to go pending and then after sometime will change to approval or denial. I got approved for the CIP when I put $5 as my business revenue. I’m sure your banking relationship with Chase will also help chances of approval. Also, make sure you don’t have more than five applications in the last 24 months and none in the last 30 days or that’s an automatic denial.

One good thing about my current employer... I can easily change my direct deposit and it will go through within a pay period. I can also direct just a certain amount to each account. I've been thinking of looking for a new job, would it be inappropriate to ask how quickly a new employer how quickly they can change my direct deposit? :rotfl:

Also, DH doesn't understand why I keep buying things online instead of running to the store. Because there are portal points, duh! You need socks! Let's buy them online! He's like, why can't we just go get them? Because I just bought gym shorts online and because I took a moment to do it online, I saved 50 cents on the OOP cost and earned $1.71 with TopCashBack and 22 UR points! And he just looks like o_O

I just told DH I need CitiBusiness AA card. We are waiting for the CIP to arrive. I need to stick with Biz cards to get back under 5/24. He’s all
I do try to do online shopping but it’s hard to get DS new clothes without trying on. And he outgrows them like crazy.

And was she duly impressed?

She was. She was like, "What??!! You better take video and post pics on FB!" I said I was planning on it.

Fortunately, my expectations are realistic. I don't expect the "bed" to be as comfortable as a Disney Cruise line bed. Those DCL beds come from the land of unicorns and are made of fluffy dreams, magical wishes and pixie dust because there are no such beds in the real world. I anticipate the bed will be similar to any other lie flat seat only a bit roomier. I can fall asleep anywhere pretty easily. I assumed by the layout and positioning of the recliner chairs and slot where the table comes out that we would not be able to eat right next to each other unless we brought the food onto the bed. So, no surprise there. I'm ok with that. Looking forward to Book the Cook on the plane and order lobster thermidor!

Yeah - I’m subtracting $5.60 since your points didn’t “save” you that money.

92-5.6=$86.40/5,644=1.53cpp
106-5.6=$100.40/6,660=1.50cpp

They are all different returns due to a tax component. Basically, it causes your cpp to be higher on cheaper flights. I use 1.48 as that’s the return to on a $130 flight which is pretty average. :)

Ok, thanks. I do subtract out the fees in my spreadsheet but they are grouped together as one (3 points flights +1 free flight). With the companion pass all my SW redemptions look like they are over 2 cpp.

Wow, now I’m looking forward to our cruise even more. Only 388 days to go :rolleyes1
I currently think the heavenly beds at Swolphin are the best.

I think Swolphin, Shades of Green and Art of Animation are the only on property Disney hotels I have not stayed at yet. Perhaps after the merger that will change.

We usually do a 3 day once or twice a year if we don't have a longer cruise booked with our friends. On these 3 day DCL cruises that are just the 2 of us we get really excited and look forward to one thing above all else and that is going to sleep on the ship, followed by sleeping in. Conversations prior to the cruise usually include the phrases, "I'm so looking forward to the best sleep ever" and "I can't wait to sleep in on the ship."

My DH and I agree...it is the best sleep ever! I don't know if it is the beds or the motion of the ship but we both fall asleep fast and sleep well.

Has anyone booked DCL through the UR portal?

So if I am booking a $9000 cruise, is it 600,000 points with a CSR (in my world I call that $6k so a $3k savings!?!)?

I just took everything out of my travel wallet and put it back in my normal wallet. I have all this cash in there! Where the heck did that come from? :crazy2: I mean there's the $20 FIL chased me down with, and the $35 I won in the slots... but I've got another $100 there! I don't use cash :snooty:

But really, I do creative accounting in YNAB to hide DH's presents when I buy them, because I still want to earn points!

ETA: The worst part with cash is, if I want to earn points, I have to actually go into the bank in person, the horror!!

I sold some stuff on Facebook Marketplace so I had to stop off at the bank today and deposit all the cash. But I actually like my local Chase branch. They are always so nice.

I haven't booked a DLC, but I have booked Royal Caribbean. You need to call in for cruise bookings. The awesome thing is that it is just like any travel agent, so they were able to match my RC Diamond member suite discount for our upcoming Oct. cruise. We got a junior suite for $2k total, so just 133k UR points.

And I would definitely call your hypo a $3k savings.

I track the Companion Pass savings in a separate category so I can track total "CP savings". I could save that money whether I booked on points or cash so it's a separate category (because I like to over-analyze, lol!)
