What is the approval rate on this card? I have a brach less than 5 minutes from my home so going in is no issue. How many points do I earn per dollar spent?
Do I need anything extra to apply for a business card?

What can these points be used for? How can I redeem?

Thanks I do not mind going in branch but prefer online if I get the same points.

When you say book through chase portal how does this work? Is it say like Amex portal. You have to book hotel and stuff through them as the middle man? Like say AAA.

How easy is it to get approved for these cards.
Online approval is fairly easy and you don't have to talk to a person - I got approved for a cookie business that had ~$1,000 in revenue. That offer is 80,000 points for $5,000 spend.

In Branch, it's hard to give a read on how "easy" your experience will be. That offer can be 100,000 points for $5,000 spend. Most of us have not applied in branch, and it's really depending on the BRM (Business Relationship Manager) and their attitude. If your "business" doesn't do a lot of revenue, they may not be very interested in assisting, HOWEVER it seems that most just want to book a business credit card and get paid for that :) Of course 20,000 additional points is at stake and that's worth $200-$300...so it's your call on which route to go.

These points can be used for:
  1. Cash out at $0.01 each meaning the 80,000 signup bonus + 5,000 points for spend is worth $850
  2. Redeem for travel (hotels, flights, Disney packages, cruises, etc.) at $0.0125 each; 85k points = $1,062.50
  3. IF you get a Chase Sapphire Reserve Card (CSR) you can transfer your points to that card and redeem at $0.015; 85k points = $1,275
  4. Transfer to travel partners such as Southwest, United, British Airways, Marriott, Hyatt, etc.; value is harder to calculate there
Booking through the Ultimate Rewards (UR) portal is easy. You can also call in and do more complex bookings such as a Disney package with hotel, tickets and dining. They even have access to Disney discounts. Through the CIP card + another 2-3 cards you can actually pay for an entire Disney trip ($3,000-$3,500) with the points you'd earn!

IF you choose to apply online please consider joining our DISchurners group on Reddit and support a fellow DISer. IF you choose to apply in branch, good luck! We'll help coach you through it too either way!

Your application will probably go pending either way which is fairly normal. You can call 1-800-432-3117 (then hit #, 3, 1 or follow the prompts to check application status). This will give you an automated message on your status. If it says 30 days, 2 weeks (or approved :)) then you just keep waiting it out. Some applications get approved within 24 hours, others can be up to a week.

I haven't booked a DLC, but I have booked Royal Caribbean. You need to call in for cruise bookings. The awesome thing is that it is just like any travel agent, so they were able to match my RC Diamond member suite discount for our upcoming Oct. cruise. We got a junior suite for $2k total, so just 133k UR points.

And I would definitely call your hypo a $3k savings.

Wow, this is great!! Wonder if they can book those *GT restricted rates. Should be able to just like other agents.

This thread moves waaaay too fast for me! Somehow I got ~50 pages behind again. Needless to say I did not read all of them, but I think I’m caught up on the important info from the last week or so.

Today I finally put in my application for Global Entry. I wanted to do it before my CSR AF hit again since I don’t intend to keep the card, and now all of a sudden it’s May and my card anniversary is at the end of this month! I can’t decide if I want to PC or just cancel. I’m leaning toward cancelling because I think I’m hitting my limit of credit that Chase will give me. The last card I got from them (Marriott Biz) only has a $5K limit. So if I cancel the CSR that will open up some credit with them. I also already have CF & CFU, so not sure what I’d PC it to.

I also opened my first bank account for a bonus this week! Dipping my toes in there since so many of you seem to do it to supplement/aid in your churning. I went with Memory Bank since it seemed to be an easy one to do (no direct deposit or high balance to maintain). And I funded $500 with my Marriott Biz since I still have a little of that MSR left to do. I got the online banking set up yesterday, now I’m just waiting for the verification deposits from my CapOne360 account so I can set up ACH transfers to satisfy the bonus requirement.

So that’s where I am right now. I have about $500 MSR left on the Marriott Biz, $1K left on SPG Biz, then I can move on to the $3K for SPG Personal. I’m kind of disgusted that I could spend $6K on the SPG Biz in a little over a month, lol. I did pay rent with it, and both of my kids have birthdays (April 30th & May 9th) so used it to pay for both of their parties. Oh, and I spent a few hundred on concert tickets.

Question - I see the new Marriott card is out with the 100K sign up bonus. Is there any indication of how long that will stick around? Their website says “limited time” but I couldn’t find an expiration date for the offer stated anywhere.

If I were you, I would PC it to another Freedom. You never know when you'll want to max out multiple CF 5% categories. (I maxed out the $1,500 on 4 Freedom's using Apple Pay in Q1 for example). Regarding the credit limit - you could just reduce it down to $1,500 since you'd probably never spend more than that anyways.

I know what I am about to ask has nothing to do with CC, but here it goes Lol. Could anyone recommend some must eat at restaurants at WDW please. My family is going in Nov. and ADR is on Wednesday and we are still not sure where to eat. A family of 5. Thank you!!!!

We are a family of 6. Our favs are:

MK: Pecos Bills - love Mexican food and the ability to share here. The topping bar makes it so easy to each order kid's nachos and then load up the plates with guac, lettuce, tomatoes and onions. My dh usually gets his own but the rest of us share or get kid's meal. We also like the fajita platter.
CHH: Same as another poster. We eat upstairs :) My dh & I will share the tuna sandwich and clam chowder. Kids order from kid's menu, including my teens.

EP: We tend to snack around the place. We like the ham & apple sandwich at the Norway bakery, fish & chips at the England CS and Via Napoli. We snack here more than any other park.

DHS: Hmm, options are limited. We do ABC Commissary more than any other. It's hard to avoid the fried foods there. We get burgers & fries.

AK: Our favs here are Flame Tree BBQ (love the chicken salad) or Yak & Yeti counter service.

Our family shares meals, or adults order kid's meals when we can. DH & I are not either one 'big' eaters so we are content to eat light at meals and leave room for snacks. We love to snack. That's one of my fav parts of WDW!

This is me too, friend. I seriously do not know how in the world I meet these MSR's so easily. I've put about 5k on my spg biz in right at a month. Yet, all my other cards seem to have their almost normal amounts. I'm clearly doing something wrong. And it's scary! We have birthdays too...one end of March and one early May...and my dd17's upcoming graduation party. A few extras like dh & I going to FL for a few nights but seriously, how did I spend so much...!?!?

We are a family of 6 so we don't do too many table service meals. One of our favorites though is a late breakfast at Kona. Gluten free Macademia Pancakes, I look forward to that every trip. I am not a breakfast eater, but those pancakes are the best. My son and I tend to get a bit tired of the food quickly, most of choices consist of chicken tenders, pizza and burgers at the QS unfortunately. The burgers at Beaches & Cream are some of the better ones we've had. Cookes of Dublin at Disney Springs is another favorite of ours that everyone seems to like.

For our upcoming trip we only have 2 ADRs- I need to pick between Boma (which we love) and 1900 Park Fair (haven't done yet). Then we have our late breakfast at Kona.

I feel like the food was much better overall years ago or maybe my tastes have just grown up, I don't know.

Sadly, no more free guac at the toppings bar at Pecos Bill... it’s an add-on on the menu now.

Dinner at 1900 PF is probably our favorite character meal - we love the stepsisters!

Ack! really?? It was still there in Sept 2017! Oh well, all things come to an end with Disney, it seems. Guac is not a cheap item so I'm not surprised.

Yes, 1900PF is our fav breakfast and dinner character meal :) We love the characters for both meals!

Ok - brace yourselves...a strange thing is about to happen...I have a question!! LOL! Now that I have a CIP...I'm suddenly interested in Plastiq...

Here's my Question - that whole issue with Visa cards coding as cash advance on Plastiq...does that come into play when you pay a contractor? And if I was paying $10,000 bill on my CIP would I need to first pay them say $5 on an AMEX then pay the full bill on my Visa?

We're looking to get our retaining wall done and nobody accepts card, but now I'm thinking it's a way to essentially "purchase" some URs at a discount due to the 3x coding on CIP :)

EDIT: Guess I should clarify this too - does CIP earn 3x on ANY purchase that runs through Plastiq? (I sound like a newbie for once here, haha!)

This post cracks me up cause you do sound like a total newbie....and I gotta say, I love it... :)

Firstly, I've never, ever had a Visa card code as a cash advance through Plastiq but the general advice is to lower any cash advance limit as low as you can (do not consistently do this myself...). I've also never made a small payment on Amex or MC first though that also is typical advice given.

Secondly, Yes, CIP is *currently* earning 3x on ANY purchase made through plastiq using the CIP. Good stuff, huh??

Finished catching up from this morning I think, ~250 posts since I left
I am amazed at all the info on this page. I have been looking for a credit card that offers the best cash back. In the past 5 years i have opened only three credit cards.
-Disney Premier -Opened in early 2017 Received $200 bonus +S100 referral-Annual fee
-Alaska Visa signature- Opened in Early 2017- received 30K points + free ticket- Annual fee
-Hilton Amex-Opened in March 2018- Received 50K points plus 15K for referring husband- No Annual fee

DH Credit cards
Regular Disney CC -Opened early 2017-Received $200 bonus-No Fee
Hilton Amex Opened in March 2018- Received 65K points

DH only has those two credit cards in his name.

I have opened them because we go to Disney at least once a year. Alaska is our preferred airline and Hilton is one of our preferred hotels.

I do not mind opening cards to get bonuses I can use, but what i am really searching for is for a card that will give me the best cash back that I can use to put towards vacations. Any recommendations?

Easiest cashback I think is Discover IT or Chase Freedom. Both are no AF cards and have rotating 5% categories to boost your earning and are super easy to redeem as cash.
Discover does a cashback match during your first year of card ownership so by the end of the first year you effectively earn at least 2% on everything and 10% on the rotating categories which have a cap of $1500 in spending each quarter. Discover cashback can be redeemed directly as a statement credit, as gift cards at a discount, or I think they may have a bank deposit option too.
Chase Freedom is pretty straight forward, same 1% for everything, 5% in rotating categories per quarter capped at $1500 in spend as well. They also do some bonus promotions that sometimes stack with the quarterly category to boost earnings. What's nice about this card is it earns UR points which for now can be pooled with other Chase UR earning cards for more redemption options in the future should you decide to pick up other CC's for travel later. Meanwhile the UR points can be redeemed as a statement credit in any amount, or redeemed for gift cards but not usually discounted so I prefer the credit.
I have both these cards for these reasons because I find them easy to use and redeem AND it doesn't cost me anything so it's free money. You can cash out on any UR card, and the cards with AF's give bigger sign up bonuses, but have to decide if that is worth the higher spend and different earning structures. The other thing I like about discover is no foreign transaction fees if that's useful for you. I'm sure I'm forgetting something typing on my phone but hopefully that helps start your research.

For breakfast we like the food better at boma over 1900 park fare. But it’s wortg it for the characters

Nice to help give you some advice:-)
Set your cash advance to $100. That’s the lowest you can do. Then do your first payment over $100 if you are worried. It will tell you a warning if it’s cash advance but to to be safe I’d set to $100 cash advance and pay bill over $110. After you sign up and pay over $500 you will receive your free $500 free fee dollars.

Wow, this is great!! Wonder if they can book those *GT restricted rates. Should be able to just like other agents.
I'm definitely interested in hearing your experience with booking the cruise, as DCL is one of our favorite ways to vacation and it's not cheap! I would love to be able to book with URs. I'm wondering if Chase would be able to book on opening day or if we'd have to wait until it's open to the public. Also wondering how it would work with an OBB placeholder.

Exactly how do the ACH transfers work?

Funny you mentioned Plastiq, I was looking for your Plastiq referral link yesterday but I could’t find it for some reason. Now I realize why.

Are you talking about DVC bookings before the general public? I think those have to be made directly through Disney. But maybe you can book and then transfer the booking to Chase. Not sure if you can pay with URs on a transferred booking, but that would be great.
