I love credit cards so much!

Still plugging along working on getting tickets and hotel for Universal in October. Cabana Bay is showing again on UR and has gone down just a bit. Yay!

My research is suggesting that one can redeem MR for Universal tickets but I am having a really hard time seeing what kind of redemption is available or how that works. Does anyone know how many MR it would take to get a Universal ticket? Or if it is even still possible? I don't have an MR card, so I can't see and I just can't find solid evidence if it is still possible or whether it is an OK or terrible redemption rate.

Same with Citi TY points. There is some evidence suggesting it but I can't find anything solid.

Anyone know anything about these?

For Amex there is an option under gift cards, then Theme Parks to redeem for Universal Orlando tickets. Here are the options:

Universal Orlando® 2-Park 1-Day Park to park Child - 22,750 points

Universal Orlando® 2-Park 1-Day Park to Park Adult - 25,125 points

Universal Orlando® 2-Park 2-Day Park to Park Child - 31,875 points

Universal Orlando® 2-Park 2-Day Park to Park Adult - 33,125 points

Universal Orlando® 3-Park 2-Day Park to Park Child - 39,750 points

Universal Orlando® 3-Park 2-Day Park to Park Adult - 41,250 points

Universal Orlando® 3-Park 3-Day Park to Park Child - 41,875 points

Universal Orlando® 3-Park 3-Day Park to Park Adult - 43,125 points

What credit cards are the best to open now. I already have SW

What are your travel goals? What other cards do you currently have? How many cards have you opened in the last 24 months? How many cards do you want to open every year? Are you looking for one or two cards? Most of us here sign up for new cards hit the spend requirement to get the bonus and move onto a new card? Are you comfortable with that?

Finally finished our SPG biz too. At $5070 ( had the old offer). Took cable and phone bills to post at end of April plus a couple months of car payments thru plastiq.
Chomping at the bit for next card but gun shy. DH was denied CIC when he applied 3/30. I think I fixed the issues but still chicken to go for CIP
I want the CIP for DH next. I won't lie, I was secretly hoping against hope they would put the 100k offer online, because I know there's no way he'd go in to talk to someone. I need to make my spending plan on how we will meet the $5k...

It's a good morning for me!! I just called Chase to ask them if they could expedite my CIP. While I had the agent on the phone, I told her that I had seen the increased offer for small business week but didn't have a Chase branch within five hours of my home or even within my state to apply in branch. She put me on hold for a couple minutes and came back and said they would match the 100k offer for me!!! She said once I meet the MSR to call Chase back and ask the agent to check the note on my account from today and that they would apply my additional points then! I'm so excited!! That means once those points apply, DH's referral points hit, and I meet the MSR on this, I will now have 305k UR points!!!

Thank you all so much for your help with this!! If anyone else is applying for CIP this week, it may be worth it to call and ask. It could just be that I had the perfect storm since I do not have any accessible Chase branches near me, but I'm glad they're giving me the bonus!

Congratulations! I applied for DH CIP yesterday and got an approval message this morning also. That was the longest 31 days of my card chasing life (had to reapply because I messed up the first one).

Open a PNC checking and savings account for 4k of it?

Congratulations! Sounds like you need to call 1-800-945-2028, request your card expedited, and ohhh, take a cue from @DisneyMandC and ask to be matched to the current Small Business Week 100k offer...

I am going to Orlando with DS19, DD17 and her friend also 17 in October as they have a few days off school. Have SW Points so flights are free. Going to Seaworld for a day (DD and I have tickets from March when there and bought DS and DD's friend tickets for $50 on the Daily Deals). Then going on a 3 day cruise from Pt Canaveral and then back to Disney for 1 night for the Halloween Party.

When on the cruise our only stop is in Nassau. Been looking at ways to enjoy a nice beach/pool day using points. I have Marriott Points that can be used at Atlantis (35,000 points) then about $70 in fees and still not sure if that covers 2 people or all 4. Then I found Baha Mar which is Hyatt and can get a room there for 20,000 points ( I don't have Hyatt points but do have UR Points). From what I read I don't think there would be any additional fees if paying by points.

Has anyone done either of these before and any preferences from either Atlantis or Baha Mar. I posted on Cruise Critic but no responses yet. I know Baha Mar just opened a year ago and not sure everything is open but it looks fabulous..

for SW cards (upcoming year) I *think* the general wisdom is to wait for the new premier, and pair that with one of the personal offers(?) or a personal+biz to hit CP? Just verifying

The new Premier card is expected to have the same limiting language (one personal bonus per 24 months across all cards). A Biz and Personal is likely the only possibility moving forward.

That is what people are suggesting, but we won't know for sure until the new card actually comes out.

That will depend entirely on your travel goals and style. It will also depend on how many credit cards you have opened in the last 24 months and which ones. Do you have a specific destination in mind? Fortunately, many here are well versed in a variety of areas and travel styles so someone will be able to help. With a little more information we can point you in the right direction.

Question: I pulled up the AMEX ED at 15,000MR for 1K spend in 3 months. Also pulled up the Blue Cash ED with $200 cash back after $1k spend in 3 months.

Understanding that you can only get a bonus once per card, which is better? Or should I keep trying for a better incognito offer for the ED?

EDIT: I have DiscoverIT (first year) and Cap1 Quicksilver; only cards I have. 3 years post BK discharge. Is ED easier to get that Blue Cash?

TIA

I went to Atlantis years ago when I was a teen. I remember it being a lot of fun. My parents thought it was overrated. I’m going back with my boyfriend at the end of this month. I’ll post my thoughts when we get back. I haven’t been to Baha Mar but I did look into that too, but decided on Atlantis because of the water park.

My first thought here is why focus on AMEX when you are under 5/24 and could look at Chase? Will Chase not approve you due to the BK?

I attempted a few times in the past, even recon, nada. Perhaps I went for the "premium" ones too quickly. Do you suggest any "less fancy" (lol) Chase cards? My Experian is the worst of all three reports.

Hmmm...Freedom is usually a starter rewards card that people do with Chase to get established. I just did a google search and it seems Chase is not BK friendly. Some reports say they were successful in recon.

Seems like AMEX might be your better bet. The cards you mention there are both the same offers we have thru DISchurners. You may be able to get a better offer incognito on either of those though.

Argggg! I can't pull up any Amex ED offer other than 10k!!!! they hate me...I'm sure it's personal:rotfl:
