So what's the best way to get a "replacement" card from Amex? Can we just order one online like Chase and Discover? Or do I have to figure out how to add it to Google Pay or something?
It just occurred to me this weekend that I've been doing all the grocery shopping for the past couple months but hubby has the 3% BCE cardI've been trying to decide what's better, 2x MR or 2% Discover (from cashback match) and duh! 3% I think trumps that. So it'd be nice to have an extra card so we're not trying to remember to swap the one back and forth.
It's handled for the next couple months with Discover (and Chase) quarter but will need it in the future. And I'd like to do it now before I forget again as I really have a blind spot on this card. It was the random card not planned for in any way and I just can't seem to remember about it.... even as we just discussed last week why has he been using it at restaurants??
("Because it gets 3% ::looks at me like i'm stupid::"
"Uh no, that's at grocery stores only. You can get 2% at gas stations and dept stores and that's about it"
"Really?"
"Really"
::double checks me on his phone:: "Oh" )
It took me until the weekend when I was mapping out grocery purchases for the quarterly bonuses for it to randomly pop into my head that I should just be using his card normally.
For a long time, I actually found requesting a "replacement card" from Amex to be easier than Chase!
Log into your Amex account for the BCE, click on "Account Services" > "Order a Replacement Card for Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Cards" > Select "Damaged Card" (you don't want to select lost or stolen card -- that'll get you a new card number and who knows what other trouble).
