I love credit cards so much!

OK, I'd like your thoughts. My take based on reading is that I should wait until 4/2018 to apply for the CIC or CIP with my stats:

1/17 CSR
8/17 Delta Gold Personal
1/18 CF
1/18 Disney Visa

So I am 4/24 overall and 3/24, 2/12, 2/6, and 2/3 for chase until April. I am nervous about the business cards, but this thread has made me think it is worth it.

FWIW I will probably get a Delta Business card and then another Discover after this. I think I am going to try to stay at 5/24 until the CSR falls off to try to double dip in early 2019. I am close to getting my husband to do the double dip, but it is a little bit tough to get him to try this out with two cards in a day!

I'd back off chase I think til May at least. I am a scaredy cat, so I maybe would wait til summer, but that is probably overkill.

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for some input in which card I should get. I am currently 2/24 with Capital One Quick Silver Aug 2017 and Chase Slate Dec 2017 ( got both before really understanding this churning game):sad2: I also have an old (8+ years) BA cash rewards card.

So I am thinking to try and go for the double dip CSP and CSR. I should have no problem in meeting the MRS since I have a daycare bill of over 2K a month + all my organic spending.

My goal is to fly to Brazil for free or almost free since we now need to pay for 4 RT tickets! My home airport is BOS

I did some researching and it does not seem that UR transfer to AA. Is that correct?

You guys are awesome!
Welcome!!
2/24 is still a great place to start from :) I would start with the Chase Biz cards. Don't have a business? Yes, yes you do. Most of us have "businesses", often people didn't realize it before. Do you rent out property? Have you sold something on ebay? Craigslist? Etsy? Do you do some consulting or something? Dig deep and you might find a biz you didn't know you had! Once you've found one it's time to get a business credit card. Since URs are your goal right now start with the CIP, 4K spend for 80K UR then go for your double dip. I would love to say CIP then CIC then CSR/CSP but 4 Chase cards in one year could be pushing it too much, personally I just don't know on that. CIP then CSR/CSP will leave you at 4/24 so you'll still be able to grab some Amex biz cards maybe before hitting up Chase for more cards in year 2 of your churning! And if you have a player 2 there are referrals available for CIP (20K), CSR (10K) and CSP (10K), they do nothing different than use your link for the application!

AA.... AA miles are most easily accumulated by Citi AA cards and Barclaycard's AA card but they will impact your x/24 status. Citi also has a Biz AA card so you could hit that without impacting your x/24 status for Chase cards. Barclaycard has a AA Biz card but there is very little data on it so I cannot recommend that, idk what it might do to your x/24 status, I think that one has conflicting reports. What's your AA plan? Is it to used AA miles to book the fare and are you looking at AA saver awards? If so I'd seriously consider another route! AA generally has horrible saver award availability. Finding availability on domestic flights for one person has been quite challenging for me, can't imagine doing it for 4 internationally!

I going to add that we were going for the SW CP for my DH. We finished the SW business card mrs and applied for a SW plus and got denied! He is under the 5/24 and 0/30 so I need to wait and see why he got denied.
Has anybody under the 5/24 and 0/30 ever got denied for the SW plus?
I am wondering if somehow I messed up his application. And his score is over 820

He's made the most money off puppy training pads that were being discontinued at Petsmart. We probably bought 30-40 boxes of these training pads for $14.99 each and sold them for between $55-$70 on eBay and Amazon.
Wow, wish I’d seen that deal. Not to resell but my sister does dog rescue/fostering. Right now she has 5 six week old pups.

oh my goodness! how neat! I saw those sheets at my target and we have a casper mattress but I didn't buy them. I love cariloha sheets. I didn't realized casper ones were so popular! see...don't know a good deal when I see it! Puppy pads would never have crossed my mind. What a neat idea!

We actually have a Casper mattress too! I almost kept a set of the sheets for ourselves. Yeah, I don’t even know how he figured out the puppy pad thing. We definitely got some odd looks at Petsmart buying 6 boxes of 150 pads at a time, but oh well lol.

That is interesting. How long had it been since the biz app?

Ok. This increased CIC offer is kind of messing with my overall strategy as well. Would love your advice on where to go next with DH and in what time frame.

DH's current situation:
9/2016 - AU on my CSR, although he was removed yesterday via SM (not sure if this makes him 1/24 or 0/24)
2/2018 - CSP (2/24 or 1/24, 1/12, 1/6, 1/3) [And I know I should have had him do the CSP/CSR double dip, but I wasn't sure he would get approved at all as a SAHD so I decided to start slow; definite SMH when he got instant approval that I didn't try for the double dip then. But it is definitely my plan to have him double dip once we either downgrade or cancel his CSP and he becomes eligible for another sapphire bonus down the road.]
3/2018 - CIP (2/24 or 1/24, 2/12, 2/6, 2/3)

I was planning to either wait a few months and refer him with my CF or wait until October and have him double dip SW cards (assuming bonuses are high enough) to get the CP good for 2019/2020 (and then start toggling with me on SW CPs). But UR are definitely king for me (trying to swing at least business class seats for 4 of us to Africa in 2019 and likely Japan in 2020), so that increased CIC bonus is calling to me. (SouthFayetteFan, I also saw your analysis on the CF, but that assumes maxing out the bonus, and DH's CF would make 2 CFs for us, because I have one. Plus, I'd like to start utilizing the bonus categories on the CIC before 2/2019, when I can downgrade his CIP.) The question is how soon do folks think it would be safe for him to apply (either for the CIC or the CF)? I know he needs to be 0/30 to apply for another Chase biz card, so the earliest he could apply for the CIC would be toward the end of April. But that would put him at 2/24 or 1/24, 3/12, 3/6 and 3/3. Is that 3/3 risky? If so, how long should I wait before having him apply? And then what does that do for a potential double dip of the SW cards later in the year (although I'm willing to sacrifice the CP for lots of UR)?

aaahhhh, yes! OK! My CF is actually a different card that I PC'd down to a CF, so no bonus there. So I should be good to go. Thanks! Love that the min spend is so low!
Having multiple CF will be esp great while the Apple Pay p2p is working!
I'd wait a few weeks (or a month) after you PC To CFU before you apply for CF just as an FYI - so their system doesn't tag you as having a CF still somehow. :) I love how there's some excitement around this math I brought to light but anybody looking at this just keep in mind you are using 5/24 slots for Freedom cards which may or may not be your best strategy. If you've evaluated that though it's a nice return.

OH! Please disregard my post then!! I don't fly SW & know nothing about the SW cards. Others will be able to better guide you as I know how important and difficult it is to get that CP!

Your stats are right (3/24 2/12 2/6 2/3). I'd say April is probably safe for another Chase card but May would be even better.

I feel like you should recon this app before you apply for anything new. Recon isn't really that scary - worst thing is they say no. You just call and act dumbfounded that they declined such a credit worthy person :) (respectfully of course)

Quick correction: My analysis didn't assume maxing out the category. It assumed that all $500 towards the MSR would be in the bonus category :) (It was adding 2,500 URs NOT 7,500 URs which is what you'd get if you maxed it out).

Tough call for us. My DD loves A Bug's Life but she LOVES SUPER HEROES too!
Aww, I was bit "aw, bugs land but one second later that became MARVEL LAND!!!" I'm much happier about it than the TOT to GOTG (took some time for me to come around there) and I still have not come around on the whole Aladdin to Frozen thing. I need my genie back! :genie:

Quick Clarification:
So we've done some "Chase shutdown" analysis today. That is different from "5/24" analysis in one way:
  • 5/24 analysis will be only cards reporting to your personal credit report (so basically this excludes most biz cards).
  • Chase Shutdown analysis you would include all cards reporting to your personal credit report PLUS any Chase business cards since Chase absolutely knows you got them :) And that's when we look at things as */24, */12, */6, */3

Hope that clarification helps if anybody was confused.
