I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

What's considered a department store? Do they still have any of those? I guess Macy's may count now that I think of it. I saw it in the mall when I took the grands shoe shopping for school. Haven't been in one in years.

And for this quarter it was also a bust for me.
My Cash+ counts Macy’s and Kohl’s but not sure what Chase will consider for that category

Way behind on this thread, just got back from 2 weeks in Africa and many websites were not available in the countries I was in, when I checked once or twice. Decided to try for CSR Biz, was approved with a $10,000 CL after the phone call from the fraud dept to make sure it was really me applying. Used a support link from DH's CIP. I have 3 open Chase personal cards and 2 biz cards, one that I use semi-regularly. Will try to refer him to a new CIU soon, would like to get the points to his CSR to hopefully beat the late October deadline.

I have $12,000 CL on my CIC and $9000 on my CIP, so I will move quite a bit over so I don't have to make too many separate payments to hit the CSR Biz MSR.
When you called the fraud dept what did they ask? We got a letter from Chase after DH applied for CSR Biz suspecting fraud and said to call in. Did they just verify identity or did they discuss the app? DH won't mind the ID questions but won't want to have to talk about the application. I usually am the one that does that so hopefully they would let me talk to them after he verifies ID and gives authorization for me to talk on his behalf.

They called me, just asked if I had applied for the card, then approved it.

A previous CIU application in January, they asked a couple of ID questions, nothing about the business application that I recall. They did prolong that one and eventually deny it, but since then I was approved for a CIP in March with a similar experience - just a quick call from Chase to verify that I had actually applied.

Updating a previous post - I had made an interim payment on Sept 8 to my new CSR Biz but the available CL had not reflected it. Today, a week later, the available CL did go up. I think the closing date will be around Sept 20 and I am not planning to charge any more before then.

DP for those of you with young adult family members who want to get into this hobby. My family member who graduated college this year and started grad school was just approved for the CSR with a $10K limit. They do have a full time job but are not even salaried yet. No credit history other than an AU on one of my cards (which I'm not even sure I ever activated/used). However, they are an existing Chase client with checking and savings. I supported the application and warned them they were likely going to be declined since it was their first card. Needless to say, we were both pleasantly surprised.
@djmeredith Did you send a support link? If so, have you received the support money? I sent my daughter a support link for my Chase Freedom and she was instantly approved - and I haven't received any bonus cash -- which I thought would happen somewhat immediately after she was approved.

@georgina I had this happen two weeks ago. I applied for a Chase biz. They called within about 10 minutes, and they immediately approved me after I confirmed that it was me applying. No questions, just verifying it was me that applied.

Weird Chase DP: they declined expediting my new CIC via secure message.

It's pretty much my standard procedure at this point that, if Hubby or I get a new CIC, I go SM for an expedited card. They always send it and I often end up with two because the snail mail one is already incoming when they send the overnight card.

I apped, approved, and SMed on 9/11. Got a message today that they can't expedite my card because it was already snail mailed 9/12.

Not sure if this is a one-off with this customer service person or if it's going to be a new standard for CICs. Annoying because the fee free Visa starts next week and I need this card in hand ASAP. Should be here in time, but still...

interesting. I think I had that happen once a few years ago, so I called, and they did it.

To close this loop: I called this morning to move around credit. The phone rep moved that and expedited my card in all of 60 seconds. I'll have the card by Weds at the latest, so plenty of time to get my Staples fee free VGCs this week.

So, if SM refuses to expedite a CIC, definitely a HACU situation.

Yes, they used my support link. I have not yet received those support pts, but it has only been a few days.

We'll be staying at the Park Hyatt in Siem Reap for 4 nights, coming up fast in less than 2 months... I'm SO excited! This has been my most anticipated trip we've been planning for the past year (Cambodia combined with Singapore and Vietnam).
We only have Discoverist status with Hyatt. I know it's been offered in here before, and others have kindly helped us in the past (thank you!!)... but if anyone has a Guest of Honor award that will be going to waste again this year, we'd love to help use it! I believe that would get us free breakfast, free parking (we'll be renting a scooter! lol), and a suite upgrade if available. The hotel already looks very nice, so we're super pumped for this stay and to explore the surrounding area and Angkor Wat for a few days.
Would also love any recommendations on food/restaurants in the area for anyone who's been! TIA :)

Support points usually show up a couple of weeks after approval on Tuesdays.

The 2x on $5000+ is a nice surprise! I'll be putting property tax on the biz plat for the upgrade SUB, so that will cover most of the cc fee.

My biz gold was only 6 months old. Was refunded the prorated AF then charged the prorated biz plat AF. When the full year AF is charged in March I wonder if it'll be $695 or $895. When I took the upgrade, it showed $695 AF, so I would think they need to honor that for at least a full year, but who knows.

Right, this sounds like old school terminology. When I hear dept store I think of May Company

These are objectively awful options.
Now I know why I got a Chase email about my Freedom Flex over the weekend... offering an additional 0.5% cashback on the next $2500 spend (after spending $1000), and then an additional 1% on the next $2500 spend (after spending $4000!!). No, I will not be putting $6500 spend on this card to get an additional 1% back on Department stores.... SMH.

I'm excited to hear about your trip! I cannot believe you are renting a scooter! I just don't think I could ever. And not now that I'm middle aged! Also, disboards popped a link on the word scooter in your original post that implies you'll be renting a mobility assistance scooter, like one would rent at WDW!
