I was at DL and WDW and am so behind on this thread

Anyway, anybody know if there's a good way to track progress toward Hyatt qualifying nights earned through Chase spend? I mean the 2 nights toward tier status received for every $5K spend in a calendar year. Neither Chase nor Hyatt know... Do I have to add up my statements?

No. It’s only good before the assigned seats start.

Relatedly, I'm wondering if the upgraded boarding credits will continue to count the rest of this year. We get 4 with SW Priority but have only used 2, have plans for the others...

So the Hyatt personal $5k/2 nights isn't calendar year based - the Hyatt biz is.

There is no easy way sadly - just have to go back and see when you last received 2 nights and then work forward adding up the statements like you said - actually I just tend to track the payments - gets me close enough.

It's actually a rolling balance that doesn't restart every calendar year (unlike the FNC). I SM'd to ask how much I have to go to the next $5k spend. I think it was fairly accurate, but hard to tell. After that I started tracking on my spreadsheet and got the elite nights and FNC when I expected. Except this last time was earlier, but maybe it was due to refunds.

Okay, thanks. Since I got the card toward the end of last year, the qualifying elite nights and FNC will be pretty much the same progress for me this time. I'll try SM also since calling didn't help, the rep just told me to call Hyatt and that was painful because the Hyatt rep was so confused and just kept telling me that the only Chase benefit she could see was "you get Discoverist status" lol

Listed as one of the benefits through 12/31/25.

So, unless your plans include an early January flight that's in the weird gap of no assigned seating but after 12/31, you're fine.

i have 1 ink pen (just closed one) and united biz.
3k insurance bill due next month so wondering what to do

currently have 500k URs and 500k MRs and 500k HH points.
I use he hilton and URs, not so much the MRs

I have Surpass, am diamond and currently spending my $50 quarterly on junk!

we fly united, jjetblue (have cc) and frontier.

may do Virgin cruise in February 2026, DH has tons of virgin points.

will be closing amex plat when af hits, have bbp and plat biz.

have csr, old af just hit, keeping for another year

hate to waste my spend.

Congrats. I had to google Regensburg - looks like a nice city with some interesting architecture. As it is a stop on the Danube River cruises, they will be well versed in handling tourists so you shouldn't have any problem finding English speakers.

You have received some good tips above. If your main card is an Amex, make sure to have a Visa or MC as well. I still run into many places in Europe that either don't take Amex or don't want to. If you have a debit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees and reimburses ATM fees - this is the easiest way to get cash. Just hit the ATM at the airport on arrival.

You will need a US/Europe adapter for the electrical sockets. Note: They commonly use 220V in Europe as opposed to the 110V in the US. Your phone/ipad/laptop will make the power adjustment - but things like hairdryers won't work unless they are dual voltage.

Something I forgot to mention, but is important - if you are paying by credit card (or sometime using an ATM) it will offer you the option to pay in Euros or Dollars. You ALWAYS want to pay in local currency - Euros in this case. If you allow them to convert to USD for you the exchange rate will be horrible.

As for the adapter - you could go with either of your suggestions. I travel with one of these:

Allows me to charge all my devices including my laptop.

To select a free seat when booking the flight you would need a SW Priority or SW business performance card. If you are traveling with your P2 and they have a card on the same reservation you also get to select a seat. If traveling alone the perks don’t extend to you, have to be the primary cardholder not an AU.

Based on your preferences, I'd consider the 115k United Quest card or a Hilton Honors Business card so you can earn the SUB and 5x for non-category spend.

Hey all! Would anyone mind explaining to me like I’m 5 how a product change works with Chase? I have several Chase cards currently and want to ditch my Southwest cards. In their place I was thinking about possibly getting a World Of Hyatt or United card instead (depending on value of the SUBs when it’s time to ditch SW).
Will doing a product change still allow me to get SUBs? I believe the product change is better for your credit score than actually cancelling and getting a new one- am I correct?
You guys are always so helpful, so any advice is welcome.

ETA- I already have a Freedom, CSP, Marriott Bonvoy, and Disney Visa with Chase (plus 2 SW cards) and am well under the 5/24 rule.

With Chase, you can only PC within the same family. Freedom and Sapphires are in the same family and you can freely PC between them. Personal SW cards, you can only PC to another personal SW card. You don't get the SUB for a PC. To get a Hyatt or United card, you'd have to apply.

Funny CC story - DH just went to Best Buy to get a new pair of earbuds. The guy tried to convince him to open a new credit card because he would save $20 on the purchase. DH told him that his wife would kill him if he did that. If it was a good deal for us, she would have already done it lol!

I told him he was right, I would have killed him if he opened a new card for $20!
