I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Have any of you been to Greenwich? We’re looking at going there for a day during or London trip.

Been a long, long time since I was there, but the Cutty Sark ship was pretty cool and there is also the official marking of the Prime Meridian line at the Royal Observatory - kinda like standing on the equator, but you can have one foot in the eastern hemisphere and one in the west. The Observatory is set in a nice park and I seem to remember finding a playground there that my kids enjoyed.

I think we took a boat from Westminster over to Greenwich for a nice short ride down the Thames.

Did y'all see this....

For Venture X cardholders:

  • Beginning Feb. 1, 2026, Venture X primary cardholders and authorized users will no longer be able to bring in complimentary guests to Priority Pass lounges. They will need to pay $35 per guest.
  • Beginning Feb. 1, 2026, Venture X cardholders' guest access for Capital One lounges and Landings will change. Guests will cost $45, and children 17 and younger will cost $25. Children under 2 will still be free
Oh joy! I got the Venture X so that I could have lounge access cheaper and the BF. Now it looks like AU's won't have any access unless you want to pay $125.....first rule about fight club....don't talk about fight club
This is so unbelievably annoying. I feel like every card just keeps chipping away the perks. The 300 travel
credit was annoying enough to use now this. I have the regular Venture also and think I might just stick to
that and cancel the X. ( i mean really not even one free guest??)

Hate to say it, but all these cards seem to be shifting for you to spend 75k+ on their card for the perks, it's not designed for the churn and burn crowd or the multiple card crowd, like I feel most of us here are.

We’re planning to do the Cutty Sark and Maritime Museum for sure. I think the Observatory we will decide after the other two and see how we’re feeling. I think DS would like the Planetarium shows but I don’t want to buy tickets ahead of time and be restricted to a time.

We rarely rent cars and in the past have had a CSR we used. This time I booked the rental and PIF already, used a CSR but it’s now downgraded to a CF. What options for insurance do I have besides just agreeing to the rental agency insurance?

Renewed DDs GE, they expire on their birthdays later this year and one will be 18. I was able to renew both of them for free. I applied on May 19th and their cards arrived while we were on vacation, arrived before May 29th, less than 10 days.
So GE renewal for minors doesn't have any annoying requirement to re-interview like the passport application does? That's great!

I hadn't looked into it but wouldn't have been surprised...

Before the change, the interview I feel was weird was with my DD,
Agent Is this your dad?
DD uh huh
Agent what school do you go to?
DD(kid mumbled)
Then pictures and that was it.

They didn't even bother interviewing my girls. I had two agents helping the three of them, it was a matter of handing out correct passports, quick photo, fingerprints, and done. They didn't even look at my driver's license to verify address. The fact that you had to get an appointment at an airport just for that experience was the hardest part.

We spent the morning playing peekaboo with the mountains. The Matterhorn made an appearance finally but it’s an all Matter no Horn view from my room. The clouds are being so extra. It’s much better than I expected to be honest considering what the weather was supposed to look like before we left. Our hotel is the Matterhorn Lodge boutique hotel & Apartments. I had booked a chalet double room with Matterhorn view and balcony. This runs about 410 CHF per night which was the rate I paid. Somehow, they upgraded us to a Panorama Apartment with Matterhorn View and balcony. It’s huge, has a full kitchen separate living room and dining area. This room runs about 800 CHF per night. I don’t know why or how it happened but I am definitely grateful.

We walked to the Gornergrat Bahn station from our hotel a few minutes away. Took the train at 7 am to Rotenboden. From there we hiked down to Riffelsee Lake. Then afterwards, we hiked back to the train station and took the train the rest of the way to Gornergrat. After some photos and a quick lunch we headed back towards the hotel.

I think those are standard kid questions. My kid was asked his name, who he was with and was he going on vacation soon. This led to him saying we were going to Alaska soon and turns out the agent was from Ketchikan so we had a little convo about that.

I think DS was just asked for name and that was all. It was just the officer and I casually chatting but not about anything that would pertain to global entry lol.

I am sure you have answered this before, but what do you take your photos with?

I am frustrated with SWA. A couple weeks ago one of our flights dropped 500 points. It kept showing up as a 0 point difference when I tried to modify for the same flight. Every other flight that day for the same amount of points showed the -500 price. So I called SWA and she said no, it's no difference in points than I paid. I told her it was, but she said it was nothing for her to do on her end so I let it go since it wasn't a huge amount of points. Well now today on a completely different flight, it's dropped 1,000 points and it's the exact same scenario. I went through the trouble to cancel the CP flight in order to modify and it shows a 0 point difference, while all of the other flights of the same price do show -1,000. How can this be? I feel like if I call, they'll tell me the same as last time. I don't want to cancel and rebook and lose our check-in place in line or be missing out on a 1,000 point refund either.

While in Murren today, we visited Grimmelwald, went to Piz Gloria for lunch at the rotating restaurant and did the cliff thrill walk. The weather held so we also went paragliding. This. Was. Amazing.

Aside from Piz Gloria, we were too scared to do ANY of the rest of your list, lol. Honestly, the gondola from Murren to Stechelberg was frightening for us! We did walk up to the launch point for the paragliding and loved watching the take offs and "woos" from the brave people doing it!

We were so shocked/impressed that they've been running a gondola of some sort up to Piz Gloria since the 60s! We still need to watch the Bond Movie now that we've been there.

are you looking at a fare drop, then trying to rebook for muliple tickets? Bc it could be showing you possibly 1 flight left at that price drop but you're trying to rebook ,say,3?
