I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

For us it is. We use all of our airline credits from all cards to fund UTB. The credits are issued with no problem. The UTB funds are good for 5 years. We fund both the P1 and P2 credits to only one UTB account. The tracker shows you what amount of the funds will be expiring and when. See pic below.

We have used them to purchase flights on United to fly to Disneyland, Colorado and Hawaii. We mostly use them to purchase flights to NYC a few times a year to go catch Broadway shows. They are good for flights on United metal only and not partner airlines. I have a mind to let them pile up some more and use the funds for a trip to New Zealand down the line but I tend to use them up pretty quickly. But between 4 Aspires, 2 Ritz cards, and a few Amex Plats they do add up.

are the aspire and ritz card credit that hard to use? I always wanted a ritz card but it seems like a lot of work, especially with the redemptions on marriot, maybe I pull the trigger on that after the aspire when hyatt eventually goes to dynamic award pricing.

So, since I got (presumably) denied for a new CSP, and I want to transfer points to my Hyatt account that's in my name, am I losing value now that the URs are attached to just a freedom instead of a CSP? I can't remember under what circumstances the URs are worth 25% more.

Sorry that's not very clear... I'm just sad still!

Chase, you are worth more when you transfer them to CSP to pay yourself back and chase travel 1.25x vs. 1. However, as far as partner transfers go, I don't think there is any bonus, but if there is, someone will tell me on this thread. The same thing applies to CSR, for now, a 1.5x bonus.

I don't think you can transfer with a Freedom. You'd need to upgrade to a CSP to transfer. Or if you have a CIP you can move URs there and transfer. URs are worth 25% more if you book through the portal on the CSP.

I thought you could with unlimited didn't catch the freedom part. I am mixing up similar names to products.

@ten6mom Do you have another Chase card that allows you to actually transfer other than your CSP? As far as I am aware not all Chase UR cards allow transfers to Travel partners. CSP, CSR, and I think CIP and maybe another biz card, (haven't checked).

Freedoms, CIU, CIC do not transfer, but they do combine and you can book travel or cash out or pay yourself back or buy giftcards all according to promos available. With these, it's 1:1 unless there is a specific promo.

When I'm using UR's I do tests to see if there is any advantage. If not, I'll go with my own cash or other points as I now have control and usually the best offers. If I were to need cash and didn't have a transfer card with a better offer, I'd cash out UR's. As it goes, I've never cashed out or paid back as my ultimate best use is using my CSP as a transfer card. Or for the 1.25 as a chase 'book travel' card.

Stressing that 'Book travel' does not give 1.25 with the Freedoms, CIU, CIC. It's 1:1.

What’s the process to combine URs between my husband & me? I want to transfer to him because he has the CSR. Does he call in on his number or do I start it?

OH! Shoot I totally missed all that too (about a Freedom not transferring).

I do actually still have a CIP (although I was planning to cancel that when my year was up... I guess I'll be hanging onto it a bit longer).

My husband has a CSP that I could transfer my URs to, but I am not sure I could turn around and transfer URs to MY Hyatt (or any other) account.

*sigh* This denial is bigger/worse than I originally thought. Darny darn-darn.

You call and have his card number ready. They may need to speak to him, too (happened to me once). After it's set up the first time, you won't need to call anymore

No not at all. I do $50 funding each quarter with each Aspire. On the Ritz, I do $100 3x over a few days since the airline credit is $300. On the Ritz, you do have to call in and get a manual credit explaining it was for airline incidentals. The Rittz is unavailable to new applicants so you would need to upgrade an existing Chase consumer card that you have held for a year or more. Hope this helps.

yeah i know i have to open a Marriott card high limit then switch it I just don't even use Marriott Platinum as is.

Whew! Finally an approval from Chase on the CSP! I downgraded, then re-applied a few days later, but got the dreaded letter about suspected fraud. After uploading the requested documents (twice because apparently it wasn't clear enough the first time) I called to speak with an agent today who verified the documents and approved over the phone with a 12K limit. Glad I can stop stressing over this one!

Have you had issues with getting the airline credit on the Ritz card? What do you normally tell them it was for if you're just banking credit?

I'm looking at a flight on Air France from IAD to CDG with a connection in AMS. The connection is 1 hr 20. Is that enough time? I haven't ever flown internationally. I have Global Entry but my friend who I am traveling with does not.

I may cry. Since I got my points refunded, I've been trying to get my cruise booking transfered from Princess to Chase. Spoke with Chase travel last night and they were going to request the form. They called me tonight and said I needed to request the form from Princess. I called Princess and was told the form would be emailed and I should receive it in 10 minutes or so. The form never arrived. I called back and was told only the TA could request the form. HUCA and was told I needed to send them an email to request the form. I really think this whole fiasco is an omen!

And for my 50th birthday cruise, I'm now thinking of switching to Celebrity. I prefer Princess' itinerary, but even with my credit a balcony stateroom on Princess is > $7K for 10 nights vs. < $3,500 on Celebrity.

Global Entry is only used when you return to the U.S. You will not use it at AMS or CDG. In AMS, you will be a transiting passenger passing through that country from one flight to another. Therefore, you will not go through any customs in AMS. I can't speak to whether 1 hour 20 mins is enough for that layover because I have never had to switch planes there. Hopefully someone will have experience they can share.

basic ink cards - do they have a minimum CL? I have a large upcoming spend, and b/c I just got new CSP last week I don't dare app for another ink right now, but I can leverage some of it onto a current CiC I have with another 8 months 0% interest.... I'm thinking I can ask to move some CL from my other ink over to that CiC and at least use the benefit I have there? Any limit so how little/ much CL I can have on each one?
AAAAANNNDD.... can I move CL from a biz to a personal cc? or is that a no-no?

Chase will not move CL from a personal cc to a business cc. I moved CL between inks leaving one with a $1,000 CL…No idea if it can go lower than that.
