5X UR'swhat is advantage of using those vgc or mcgc vs just using your credit card for utility bills?
Exactly. I use the VGC's for utilities, haircuts, doctor co-pays or bills where I can as I don't have a card that has a bonus category for these. If I'm working on a MSR then I'll debate on where to put these spends on that card or use a VGC. Most cases, the VGC wins out.CIC is 5% back at office supply. If you have that card, it makes sense to buy the VGC when they're fee free or any other GCs for places that you spend regularly. It allows you to capture the 5% in cases where direct spend on your card would have been a lower percentage.
Fee free VGC's at Staples this week, which is good for me as I forgot to get any MCGC's that they had last week. I use these for my utility bills.
On a separate note, is the likelihood of approval on a CIU any better during the week vs the weekend? Anyone have any experience with this? I am going to have DH apply via my support but I didn't know if it would be better to apply tomorrow vs today. I don't see any reason for him not to get an automatic approval but I also don't want to make it harder than it has to be for them to give an automatic approval.
so sorry.....My last post reminded me, I've been meaning to post but didn't want the sad news with the holiday weekend. Also, reactions are preferred, I know how we all feel about our pets and while it's appreciated, no need to comment sorry etc.
Tues before Thanksgiving after I brought the boys back in from 1st potty Dude lost the ability to stand/walk on his back legs. I was able to get him into his vet that morning (which emergency vet couldn't do) and they did xrays. The hope was since he still had feeling that it was disc disease and we'd give him steriods. Wed at almost vet close the dr calls and that's what it was but they also found a tumor on his spleen. Nothing we could do about anything until Fri so left to think it over. Plan that evening was to ignore the c and try the steriods so he could hopefully walk again.
Overnight he started getting sick every couple of hours. When we finally got up he didn't really want to eat, no matter what we tried. By evening he was so frustrated and still not wanting to eat or drink and still getting sick. I knew at that point that even if it was stress that was causing it, he had to eat to take meda and not get sick so the meds stayed in his system. It wasn't what any of us wanted but I had to think of him.
We took Tux with us so he was there with my mom and I. He had one last snuggle up to him and understood what happened. This was important to me because I wanted him to understand and be able to grieve. It's also been a huge relief/help to not have him looking for Dude. He does cry more when I'm gone and shook in the car when we went somewhere which he normally doesn't. He is driving us nuts wanting to play all the time though.
I'm glad to have Tux so the house isn't quiet and empty. I never wanted 2 dogs, he was Dude's dog and I told him I'd take good care of him. He turns 1 next week.
Hi, hoping for a little help on a question that has probably been asked over and over. I am trying to follow along again without bugging you guys too much. Thank you to all of you kind people that are willing to help. Thanks to this board I'm checking chase offers weekly and using shopdisney to buy gift cards.
Yes. And if you go through a shopping portAl, sometimes they track too.Hi, hoping for a little help on a question that has probably been asked over and over. I am trying to follow along again without bugging you guys too much. Thank you to all of you kind people that are willing to help.
I have a Chase United Explorer and should soon have a Disney Chase. I have noticed ShopDisney offers on both the Explorer card and my usual Wells Fargo Visa. Am I able to purchase Disney GC with the 15% back offer?

I can't say it's a better or worse chance of approval but when I've applied on a weekend and didn't get instant approval, it was always Monday before it was approved.Fee free VGC's at Staples this week, which is good for me as I forgot to get any MCGC's that they had last week. 15% is on the United card. Thank you for the information. I will take advantage of this offer!Yes! And wow! You got 15%? Mine are all 10%! Even 5% on one card which I ignore.
Does it matter if it's an e-gift card or a physical card? They should just track. Mine do. And yes Kohl’s does. But not Disney cards.
Has anyone done New Zealand on points? My 50th is coming up in a few years and I would like to do an epic NZ road trip across North and South Island. I'm not seeing many Marriotts or Hyatts, is there any hotel program that I'm not thinking of that's big in NZ?

Sorry I know this is old stuff but we haven't been looking for Disney GCs for several years.
Thanks so much!It doesn't. I've done both and the chase offer always posts.
on another note, trying to figure how to best use UR (300K) and Cap one (150k) points. I'm leery of booking air thru portals and typically use miles from airline and for hotel I use hilton points and will start IHG
thanks, I've heard horror stories re using chase when theres changes so good to knowI have the Cap 1 Venture X and used their portal to book airfare for a trip this past June (it triggered the $300 travel credit for booking direct thru them). We had no issues with the flight and we probably changed it 3 times due to Delta changing the itineraries so drastically. We changed direct thru Delta with no issues. That's just my experience obviously.
