@AmyAnne - you were asking a couple weeks back about LLBean discounts - they have 10% off this weekend.

Plus if you have any Discover cashback available - you can redeem for LLbean ecerts at 15% off. (Used to be 20% but I guess they reduced it).
Thanks!

Cue the tiny violin: It's a real pain adding passports and contact info for SEVEN peeps, especially when you have multiple flights with different confirmation numbers. Life is rough.

Flying Blue lets you add a travel document such a passport, but when logged in, you can only select your travel documents, not those of travel companions. Also, FB doesn't let you book multi-city, so if you have open jaws or stopovers, they are all booked separately.

I have a weird question. I'm thinking of getting DH some southwest cards for a CP. Assume he gets it. Can I book his flight on points from my account (I've got a lot of points) and then use his CP to add myself as a companion?

Also...can I transfer my Thank You points off Citi to my husband's frequent flyer account or do the names have to match?

This is a little off-topic but I'm hoping for some advice on how to find the best rate on a new car loan. I've been on the list for a new Palisade since Feb and it's finally supposed to be here in a few weeks. I've been trying to look for the best rate for car loans but it seems hard to find, and a lot of banks don't publish their rates. My salesman said they normally work with credit unions and he would get back with me on who has the best rates, but so far he hasn't sent anything. Any advice on shopping for car loans? Thank you!

It's a little different right now because I bought my car 2 years ago but if you're a credit union member, check them first. They frequently publish rates. Then check with any banks you already do business with after logging into their website. I have frequent offers from both Chase and CapOne for auto loans. Lastly check with the dealership (finance department) and see if they have offers. Dealership I purchased from had low rate offers which I negotiated to 0% and it ended up being through Chase.

I'm no expert, but when I bought my car about a year and a half ago, I called several of the banks that I had previous relationships with to ask what their car loan rates were. The best ended up being through Navy Federal Credit Union, so I applied for a loan through them and came with it in hand to the dealership. I gave the dealership a chance to beat the rate and they were able to do it (by a larger difference than I was expecting, actually!) Plus, since I was coming with a loan offer in hand, I was still able to take advantage of cash back offer on my car!

Same advice other have given. I checked published rates online with different banks, USAA had the best rate, I asked the loan people at the dealership if they could beat that rate and said no. Came back the next days with a loan approval/wire transfer form from usaa and walked out with a car.

ETA: made sure my USAA loan was for the agreed sales price, not a “not to exceed” in order to avoid them trying to sell me additional insurance during the final process.

I feel like buy a car in MI is a whole different world, LOL. I think most dealers here don't have 0% offers anymore. I think there MAY be a few left, but that's for 36 mos. I bought my daughter's Trax in 2021, when the offer was 0% for 84 mos!!!

My BF just bought a truck this month. We started buy scouring all the dealerships to see who was offering the best offer (he had already gotten rates from some CU). We found one advertising 2.5% through GM financing. When he got there they couldn't honor that. So to make up for it they gave him more on his trade and threw in free oil changes and a maintenance plan.

But again, we live in MI, the land of the auto companies and EVERYONE has a new car and a discount with 1 or all of the auto industry, LOL. My sister is trying to get a new SUV in NJ and NO ONE there will honor the GM pricing. Whereas here my BF just used it from my uncle to get his truck here. I told her, there's no way dealerships here couldn't honor it, LOL.

Second fail of the day, the Ink support links finally updated to the new offer 90K for $6K MSR. Anyway to cancel the current application (since they didn't do a hard pull)?
I wish I could cancel my application from this morning.
If you applied under the 75K offer you can SM to ask them to match to the current 90K. I did that for both myself and DH and they added the 15k to our accounts the next day. We had already met the MSR which I’ve read elsewhere they will say you need to do before they’ll add the match.

For those that do MO with the Staples fee free visa/MC gift cards- do you just purchase multiple MO for $200 minus the MO fee? Or do you purchase larger dollar MO and pay with several cards? I mostly do Serve loads with my VGC because I have at least 3 FD and 7 DG all within a 10 mile radius of my house, but even with that many places to split it up between I feel like I’d like another option in case things would suddenly change at either FD or DG.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like I need to do some research and make some phone calls!

I purchase two $499.54 Money orders. The money orders are $0.46. Then I swipe five cards.
