Well, I just re-read the notice, and it says they want "Proof of social security card for authorizing officer", and "Proof of federal tax id for business ". For the latter, it shows that the acceptable documents are either IRS EIN/TIN confirmation letter, or Tax account transcript from the IRS. So I'm not even sure if an "address verification" type bill will help at this point. That IS listed as an acceptable document for the Business Address, but it doesn't seem like that's what they're looking for.
Did you apply as Sole Prop? Those are documents that an LLC would have. Maybe just provide the address verification and see what happens from there.

Doing some hotel research for Japan 2023.
I've got a couple of places bookmarked for Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Hoping to be able to stay at a Disney Resort but that will be decided at a later time.
I need help with a place in Hiroshima, we are staying 4 nights in Kyoto followed by 2 nights in Hiroshima, maybe 3 as we plan to take a rest day between Hiroshima and Disney (probably be cheaper to stay in Hiroshima vs Disney area).
What part of town should we stay? Any hotel recommendations? Probably looking at 2 rooms.

It would depend on how many nights you are doing at Disney and if you are booking on points. If you could use a 5th night free then that would be better than 3 nights in Hiroshima. If paying cash it would probably still depend on where you are staying.

I've got 4 nights at the hilton at tdlr and thought about the 5th night but it just doesn't work with my plans.

We are only staying 3 nights in the Disney area. I would love to do 5, but we just don't have the time. I feel like if we did more nights there we would feel like we HAD to go to Disney, and we are really doing to need a rest day.

PSA- Motley Fool just charged me a renewal of $199 for the freebie Amex Plat offer from last year. I thought I had immediately removed the auto renew when I signed up. I've sent an email to cancel, the cancel option on the website is not super clear as to how they refund the fee although they are super clear that you lose access immediately.

I stayed at the palace one in Disney Springs back in December. The hotel was ok, the shuttle service to the parks was great. But our room smelled super musty.
Yep this is exactly the stuff I was reading online! Thanks for the confirmation. I just pulled the trigger on one of the Home2Suites by the airport. I figured since we are getting in so late and likely won't get any diamond benefits to offset the service charge we won't use, we'll just stay close to the airport, use the free shuttle, get the free breakfast and then UBER directly to our DVC. I'll make sure to report back on the hotel. It was nice and cheap via points (30k) so that's good.

Not sure how set you are on it being a Hilton. But if you have Hyatt or URs, the Hyatt Regency MCO is in terminal (12k points standard rate). I haven't stayed there yet, but that's my plan when we have a late arriving flight.
I've actually stayed at the Hyatt a couple times and it's great, but yes, we're trying to use Hilton points. I don't have points or status with Hyatt. I checked the cash rates and they were pretty steep for my night. I ended up pulling the trigger on one near the airport (see above).

Thanks for the help!

Amex personal plat is up for renewal on 2/16, held for 3 years. Seriously considering canceling, as I truly only value the airline credit and Saks (can you believe it?), so I value it at $250, tops. Everything else is spending just to make my AF back. I'm trying to figure out what I would accept for a retention vs close/PC.

How much will the annual fee be?
If push comes to shove, what no fee MR card can I PC it to?

As I review my Amex portfolio, every other MR earning card is on the chopping block come renewal, so might be worth it to keep it open, if it doesn't cost me.

The AF will be $695. There isn't a no fee card you can PC to. Green is $150, Gold is $250. Don't forget to not PC to a card you haven't had before.

Best retention I've seen recently is 55k for $4000 spend. 40k for $3000 seems more common. I'd take the 55k, but on the fence for 40k.

Today’s win: our school’s Parents Association provides lunches to teachers on teacher conference days, and I’m on that committee. Today, we had Chick-fil-A cater. I “graciously volunteered” to put the charge on my credit card (the AMEX Plat through the Resy offer with 15x on restaurants). Net result: 13,315 MRs and 10,589 Chick-fil-A points! (For context, 600 points gets you a free CFA sandwich.). I LOVE CREDIT CARDS.
I "graciously volunteer" to put lunch orders on my card at work all the time, and my coworkers act shocked that I'd want to. 8-)

Do you have a BBP, or is that on the chopping block? I've gotten a ton of value out of it with various offers, and there's no fee. It takes a slot, but I think it's worth it even if it's just to hold MRs.

Anyone else supposed to get slammed with snow this weekend?
We are in CT and expected to get 14-24 inches. Going to start around 8pm. I go into to work at midnight. Fully preparing to get stuck at the hospital at least until Sunday. Hoping I’m wrong.

Just met the small MSR on my Chase flex stocking up on groceries for DH and the kids to be snowed in at home and junk food and coffee for the crew I get snowed in with at the hospital. ❄️❄️❄️⛄⛄⛄⛄

Not snow but it’s gonna be cold here in Florida 🥶

Thanks guys. I will probably snag a BBP this year before I begin cancelling cards.

As I thought about it more, I value the card at:
200 airline credit
100 saks
120 cell insurance ($10/mo)
__________
$420 value

I chatted with Amex for a retention offer. They started with a $150 statement credit. Uh, no. Then offered the 40k/$3k/3mos offer. I accepted that, since I value MR at 1.5cpp, that puts me at $600 worth of MR plus $420 in credits I actually value. With lounge access going away next January, I would definitely let the card go next March.

In January 2023, I'll cash in on the $200 airline credit and $50 saks credit, plus 3 months of cell insurance, so I'll gain another $280 in value before cancelling.
AF= 695- $600-420-280= +605 ahead. I'll stomach through another year. At least that's the churning math I'm telling myself.

What confuses me is the category on the right "upgrade premium suite" which then adds $238 = 9K points for a larger suite. But they let you book that on its own without having a suite already booked, that can lead someone to think they have a room booked rather than just an upgrade. I at first thought that was the rate for the larger suite, which didn't make sense given the rate of the 20K +$390 smaller suite. Anyway... thanks

FM found the same deal you did! Looks like a nice place. :)

Yep. Right in the middle of the 24+ inches zone just outside Boston. Gonna be a fun day tomorrow.......was supposed to be going to see Jesus Christ Superstar in Providence tomorrow (rescheduled performance from 2020 due to Covid), but that ain't happening. Surprised I haven't had notification that they are canceling the performance.

Stay safe.
