Yep. Right in the middle of the 24+ inches zone just outside Boston. Gonna be a fun day tomorrow.......was supposed to be going to see Jesus Christ Superstar in Providence tomorrow (rescheduled performance from 2020 due to Covid), but that ain't happening. Surprised I haven't had notification that they are canceling the performance.

Stay safe.
Good lord thats a lot of snow... One time we got 22 inches here over a couple of days and I think thats the only time I've ever seen that much snow. A couple of years ago we got 14 inches and I swear the kids were out of school for a week. We don't know how to deal with that much snow here. Its dumb bc Mo gets snow, and somehow we are never prepared for it. So far this year tho we've only had 1 snow that accummulated and it was like 3 inches. We are supposed to get 6 next week but that will change.

Europe people - I need your opinions. Going on a European Cruise May 2023. There will be 10 of us. 6 Adults and 4 Kids (all in their 20's). We finally narrowed it down to 2 Itineraries. Would love any input on them . Have never been to Europe but they both look great. Wanted to do a longer cruise but a few of the people don't have as much vacation time. So, we picked cruises that embark and depart in 2 separate locations, hoping to get in a day or 2 early and stay an extra day or 2 on the end. Not sure of all the ins and outs of transportation/hotels etc. Here are the two:

Depart - Rome, Italy
Amalfi Coast, Italy
Sicily, Italy
Sea Day
Santorini, Greece
Ephesus, Turkey
Mykonos, Greece
Arrive - Athens, Greece

Depart - Venice, Italy
Koper, Slovenia
Sea Day
Sicily, Italy
Rome, Italy
Florence/Pisa, Italy
Nice, France
Arrive - Barcelona, Spain

So, basically Italy for both but then either Greece or France/Spain. Wish they had a cruise that had all 3 places but those are the longer cruises.

Anyone else supposed to get slammed with snow this weekend?
We are in CT and expected to get 14-24 inches. Going to start around 8pm. I go into to work at midnight. Fully preparing to get stuck at the hospital at least until Sunday. Hoping I’m wrong.

Just met the small MSR on my Chase flex stocking up on groceries for DH and the kids to be snowed in at home and junk food and coffee for the crew I get snowed in with at the hospital. ❄❄❄⛄⛄⛄⛄
Unfortunately we are getting a lot of snow here on LI too…ugh

That's super exciting. You'll have an amazing time wherever you pick. My recommendation is based on traveling in May. I would pick option 2- Italy/France/Spain. Option one has some fantastic beach/sea/water destinations like the Amalfi Coast, Santorini and Mykonos, but the temps will be in the 70s, so not quite hot enough (in my opinion) to really enjoy beach/water activities.

For option 2, I like that those of you with more vacation time can spend some time in Italy on the front end and Spain on the back end, whereas with option 1, I think you get plenty of time in Greece.

I think May is a great time to travel- you hit these destinations before the heat of the summer and before the tourists have exhausted the seasonal workers.

If you do end up instead opting for Greece- lmk, I have a few recommendations.

Pity party....the BF just called to tell me that we likely have to cancel Mexico :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: His dad will likely be having open heart surgery when our trip is planned. We're both super bummed. Right now we're holding off on doing anything as he has appts next month that will either confirm we have to cancel, or maybe we get lucky. I fully understand the emotions the BF is going through, my dad had a lovely "short" 14 hour open heart surgery 8 years ago. Our plan is to hold off cancelling and then look at rescheduling if we have to. I told him this just might mean I'm flying non-rev (I have a Delta ticket currently w/ miles) and I have to hope the resort in Playa Del Carmen has openings. But I told him we might also have to look at other places Spirit flies (I was pushing for USVIs, LOL).
He's one to freak out over me using his benefits, but other wives have said I should be to get seats. So I guess we'll see.

My sister is in NJ and heading to Atlantic City still for her "get away" weekend. She might just get stuck, LOL.

Well I hope all goes well for BFs dad. Open heart surgery is always a worrying time even though they have gotten pretty good at it these days.

Can i join you in your pity party though? We just found out that DD's State swim championships have been moved to the last weekend in February - we are supposed to be in Key West .>:(>:(

Championships have always been the 3rd week of Feb and we specifically planned our vacation around that, but someone screwed up and didn't book a venue and now they can't get one for that weekend so they have moved it a week later. After so many canceled trips over the last couple years I was so determined that we would go to Key West whatever, but now it seems another trip is out.

Not Happy. :furious:

We are in southeastern MA and are looking at 18-24+ inches of snow. I am so not looking forward to cleaning off my dog when she comes inside. I went to the market yesterday to just grab some other groceries (not bread, milk, and eggs lol) and there were no bananas to be found. Empty shelves of bananas in a lot of grocery stores around my area. So strange.

I'm in MA and they're saying 18-22 inches for our area. I just hope we don't lose power because it's also supposed to be windy. ❄

Churning fail... went to pay my property taxes with an Amex MSR I am working on and my city doesn't take Amex. Womp womp. All my MSRs, retention offers, potential FNCs are with Amex, so I'll have to pivot.

On to get a Chase MSR. I just became 4/24. Plan to apply for CIU. Reduced my personal CLs just today- was told they are effective immediately. Should I wait any time period to app?

This is for a biz card, but I did see some DPs or them reviewing overall Chase credit limits.

Yeah we are going to go freeze at Magic Kingdom tomorrow and on Sunday going to Legoland....Santa brought Legoland passes for the family and I am very excited to go for the first time.
We’re heading to Disney to stay at the poly on Sunday. I think we’ll miss most of the cold weather luckily because we won’t get there until after ds’s nap. We stay there until Wednesday and it looks like it’s gonna warm up.

Let me know how legoland is! We’ve never been but have been thinking about taking ds especially after peppa pig opens.

You can use Plastiq with a 2.85% fee. How does that compare with your city's fee (if there are any?).

My city doesn't take partial payments for property taxes. I have to consider that with Chase biz cards since they've been giving low CL.

Thanks for the insight. Not sure we would hit up any beaches anyway (although they look gorgeous) but since we have so little time - spend more time exploring and doing tours. Actually the dates of the 2nd one are a bit better too. They do over Memorial Day - so that is one less vacation day needed to take off!!

Chase does consider the total credit extended to you for both business and personal (regardless of which type you are applying for). Generally, they start to get stingy around 50% of your disclosed income, but some have reached much higher percentages (70-80%). I generally set my CL on all sock drawer or lightly used cards to $1,000, unless I'm setting up for a future product change (e.g. need $10,000 on my Freedom to go back to CSR). Once you lower the limits the system should recognize them immediately for auto approval purposes.

I don't think that you can go wrong with either. I'd have a difficult time deciding and would likely base my decision on price, cabin configuration for the group and any available OBOs. Venice and Rome are both easy cities to navigate (I'd give a nod to Venice over Rome, but that's just me). Barcelona is amazing -- would love to go back. I've never been to Greece so can't comment on Athens. Let us know what you decide! Also wanted to add that you can fly into Venice and take the train to Rome (super easy) if you decide on option number 1.

First first off, thanks to anyone for taking the time to read and offer advice!

1) First off, we are going to want you to list ALL credit cards you were approved for in the last 24 months.
This would include all personal credit cards, store credit cards, business credit cards (but not things such as auto loans, mortgages or debit cards). If you have a spouse (aka Player 2) please also list their cards separately if they are participating in this as well.

Me:
03/12 - Southwest Premier - joint account
07/14 - Chase Sapphire Preferred -
09/17 - Southwest Plus
08/19 - Disney
02/21 - United Explorer
Spouse:
08/19 - Disney
03/21 - Chase Sapphire Preferred

2) Secondly we'll want to know a little bit about you. Specifically - what you spend, and what you want to earn!

  • What amount of spend would you put on a card monthly (i.e. groceries, gas, insurance, cable, cell phone, other expenses)? About $2500 - everything that can be paid for with a credit card goes on a card - usually CSP.
  • Do you currently payoff your CCs in full every month or do you carry any balances/pay any interest? Paid in full
  • What airport(s) do you typically fly out of? Midway & Ohare (prefer Midway)
  • Do you have a preference of Frequent Flyer program? Southwest is primary airline, building United points for Europe - open to any
  • Does SOUTHWEST Airline service your airport? Both
  • Do you have a Hotel Rewards program preference? Silver status with Hilton - open to any
  • Do you currently have travel points or miles in any program? (if so, which programs and how much) UR- 223k, United- 76k, Southwest 200 (just booked a trip), Hilton -8k
  • What at your specific goals for churning credit cards? Pay for flights to Disney, Europe and beyond
  • When do you plan to take these trips? Disney 11/22, Europe 6/23
  • Who does your travel party consist of? DH(me) DW DS5 DS8

My goal is to maximize UR bonuses, and maybe pad the United and Southwest point pool as well. Paying for Disney in November and Europe in 2023 is first priority at the moment, having plenty of points left over for future trips is second priority. We have the one joint SW Premier card, are authorized users for each on all the others.

I think it may be time to start canceling some older cards like the CSP and Southwest cards and reapplying. What happens to my UR points if I cancel the CSP?

Well, my Disney account just got hacked. Just got an email with a code that said it expired in 15 minutes. So I texted both kids to see if the code was for them. It was not. My daughter than tries to get in and is locked out. I tried and was locked out too. I then chatted with Disney and she said the email had been changed and gave me the email address. Definitely not one of ours. So, I change my account to one of my other emails and then go in and change my password and then change my password for my email account. What a headache...

What was even creepier was that the email that was sent to me with the code just disappeared. Not in my current, trash or deleted emails. So, the hacker got in when I got the code and took it and changed my info. Glad I got to the email right away on that...
