I'll try and apply for the TSA for her later today. I can't do GE as I still don't have her passport, LOL. It's a christmas present...might as well double dip.

On my chase account this is what it says about grocery "Through June 30, 2021, in addition to eligible purchases made in the Travel category, purchases posted by June 30, 2021 in the Gas Station and Grocery Store categories will also count toward the $300 Annual Travel Credit." I guess the way to check is to spend a small amount and see.
Opps sorry I thought it went until 12/31/2021
Edit…to add my bosses travel credit just reset on 12/15…it shows gas and grocery until 12/31/2021 so who knows

are you talking about $15 off? those credit in such a strange way...every month I think it's not gonna work and then it does..... I have to remember to switch my autopay next week.... my entire bill is $19 so this was fun having an almost free phone....
Yes, $15 off on our Bonvoy Biz and $10 off on Hilton & Delta Biz cards. Have to keep track to make sure they credit. No real pattern to when they don’t!

DP for churning Barclay Aviator Red personal card.

Opened 1st card 9/19. Closed 1yr later when AF posted 9/20. Applied and instantly approved again today 12/18/21 for the same offer $0 AF 1st year. 60k miles after 1 purchase.

Thought this might help some people as Barclay’s bonus language is ambiguous.

Has anyone taken advantage of the new-ish benefits on SW cards to get up to $500 in credit back when you do a points transfer? I transferred points on December 16 (2 days ago). The charges

Knock on wood, I’ve never had issues buying GCs with Chase. I’ve always heard that AMEX is the one that gets squirrelly about it, when you’re using GCs to meet your MSR.

Not sure what the question was because it looks like your text got cut off. But I took advantage of the points transfer multiple times. Each time I I was transferring from a child's account TO the cardholder account. Probably did this about 5 times. Received credit for each transaction within a few days of posting.

I have to buy gift cards (about $1,000 total) for various kid Xmas gifts. Could go either Amazon or Walmart. I have plenty of spend to accomplish SW CP, so ideally will put it all on my SW visa. Any suggestions if there is a best way/place to buy these that also won't raise any weird manufactured spend problems with Chase? Also, do they relax their gift card issues during the holidays? I can't be the only person buying gift cards with my cc right now.

Chase won't care. I would just buy there where you will get something out of it, like if you get fuel points at the grocery or if that SW offers extra somewhere or you have an offer. If you have concern, don't buy them all in one transaction but again they won't care.

Thanks! Yeah, I started to ask about the points transfer credit, but then realized the charges are still pending and that that is likely why I haven’t gotten the credit yet. Thanks!

Did the SW points transfer credit benefit begin immediately for all cardholders? I thought my email said it would begin with my next anniversary date (1/4), but my benefits summary shows it available. I want to be sure I am already eligible for the credit before I charge the $50 to transfer.

Ugh! Just in time for our cruise on this ship tomorrow- https://www.cruisehive.com/royal-ca...b64O2zBpMui2lNHvHgQCxe0IxJcw5j27PCmETRnsv3Jnk

why did I think cruising was better than just going to Aruba or somewhere?
Ugh, I feel you on this!!! We thought cruising was better, but now 😭 We leave for a cruise in 3 weeks, and just got an email last night from carnival about tightened mask requirements. When we booked this cruise back in August, we were thinking the mask mandates may even be gone by the time the cruise rolled around. Now we’re just a few weeks away and it seems like things have suddenly taken a turn in the past week. I hope ours isn’t cancelled!

Ugh. Today has been a day.

We were supposed to fly to MSP this afternoon for the holidays. A few hours before our flight, Spirit (ugh!) cancelled. They said they didn’t have enough crew to staff the flight.

The only flight they were able to rebook us for tomorrow was 12+ hours of travel. And we’d get to MSP too late.

We had spent a lot of money on tickets for a show in MSP tomorrow, so we didn’t want to miss it. After navigating 48373 options and wanting to bash my head into the wall, we finally just bit the bullet and booked on Delta tonight for 49k SkyMiles each. Such a waste, but I’m glad we’re getting there. I just decided to view it as a “this is why I’m glad I have a lot of points” thing. I can’t imagine having to pay for those flights out of pocket.

Just feeling sorry for myself!

Side note: anyone had luck getting in to a Delta SkyClub Lounge without the physical card? I have mine, but my AU doesn’t. I called Amex and they said no dice, but I thought it may be worth the try?

Yes, our masks requirements changed overnight too. Really sucks!

One of my cards is the Southwest Rapid rewards plus, almost up for year 2 renewal. It is listing the new benefits which include EBCI. I used the EBCI benefit twice in early November and both credited. So I feel confident that the new benefits are effective immediately, especially if they are showing in your benefit summary.

Not sure if this could be what you are thinking, but I thought the newly rolled out CSP/CSR benefits weren't effective until the cardmember anniversary date. Could be wrong though...

We were due to be cruising on Carnival Horizon the week after Christmas, but were notified of a problem with the ship a few weeks back and given the opportunity to cancel or sail on a smaller ship. We decided to cancel and as disappointing as that was, I have subsequently felt very relieved not to have to cruise with these increased mask restrictions, and also not to have to have a rushed Christmas Day as we were due to fly to Florida that evening. To be fair, I have no problem wearing a mask - but hadn't counted on having to wear one all the time in indoor areas of the ship.

Sadly I fear we will see more of the ports placing restrictions on cruiseships again as Omicron takes hold in the US. I really hoped cruising would be back to something approaching normal by now. :(

Thanks for this info. It dawned on me after I posted that I might be confusing it with the CSP/CSR email.

We were supposed to be downtown Chicago tonight for a Christmas concert which was rescheduled due to the artist having Covid. Hyatt( The Thompson) allowed us to reschedule the award night to next weekend even though we were within 48 hours.
I bought the tickets resale and can’t make the rescheduled date. No refunds since it’s rescheduled vs cancelled. The insurance I bought would have covered us if we had Covid…but not the artist! 😫

Yes, I think you’re right about the ports. I have no idea what will happen in 3 weeks when we board. I feel like that’s a lifetime away in terms of everything that can change by then! We have no problems wearing masks either, but having to sip and cover is a bit much for us.. I wish we could have the option to cancel 😭

Had to change my flights for Sept 2022. Got an email from Delta that they changed my schedule. So instead of one layover, they rebooked to a flight leaving 1.5 hours earlier at 6:30am o_O, two layovers, each of them less than 50 mins. I was able to change but the one flight I wanted, wasn’t available in the change window. So I just booked that one and then cancelled the adjusted flight. Hopefully it sticks. I’m waiting for the SW Schedule to open. If those flights are better times, I’ll just move to SW.
