Found some Prisoner wine at Costco today. I've been wanting to try it since it was an Amex offer and I think it was @aamc (I really think I've misspelled this name so trying again @amcc . ) hope I got it right! recommended it.

They had a huge bottle and then the 'guy' told me there was a regular sized one, so we will try it over Xmas. Also saw some Taittinger and was tempted by that also, but left it be in favor of some much cheaper products!

On both DH and my biz plat accounts, the autopay did not debit when due 3 days ago. Both accounts are 3 days past due. When chatting Amex rep said it was some error on their end.

Glad I caught it. I’d check your accounts.

ETA: The autopay banner continued to show in the app. But when looking at the statement, it said “This account has been removed from autopay. Please use the below coupon to make payments”

Is there cause for concern if this is happening on both our accounts? Anyone else have something similar happen?

This happened to me last month on my Delta Biz Plat. All late fees and interest were reversed but I am keeping a closer eye on auto pay for a while.

This came up in r/churning this week. It sounds like all you can do is try to talk to a rep and hope to get a nice one who will credit your account.

That was really kind of you to search it for me- truly, thank you so much. Well, I tried chat and they wouldn't budge. I explained my only alternative is to return the items and rebuy them, which is such a terrible use of resources, especially during this pandemic. Wouldn't budge on granting a manual credit.
It was my mistake and I'll accept it as that. As they say, the coupon book giveth and the coupon book taketh away However, come renewal time, I will err on the side of canceling. Jumping through all the Amex coupon book hoops is getting old.

Just wanted to share a silver lining of a really crummy situation. On the first of December I decided (after some consultation with you all) to go for the American Express Platinum Resy offer. I knew I had some small business spend coming up (orthodontist bill) and we like to eat out (including a Disney vacation) so I figured over the course of six months I would hit around 10k of the up to 25k spend for 15x at dining and small biz, plus the chance to triple dip benefits. The day after the application I received my shiny new card. Fast forward two days later, my Dad who I was traveling often to help, took a turn for the worse and then on 12/6/21 passed away.

Now for the silver lining, I now had the opportunity to pay for funeral expenses (at a small biz) which will get me a heck of a lot closer to that 25k max for the 15x, and I am going to be paying his final medical expenses with the hope that some of those will code as small business as well.

I mentioned to my sister that I was getting a benefit for all of this spend and she was kind of mad until I told her there was a $695 annual fee for the credit card and I think that took away her jealousy since she wasn't even willing to do the CSP 100k offer, $95 AF (waived for in branch app) when I told her about that a few months back, lol.

Now to decide how Dad would want me to spend all these American Express points!!

I am very sorry for your loss. You have a really amazing attitude to be looking at the silver lining, especially right now. And how fortituous that you had a card in place and will be able to get a benefit out of such a tragic situation.

And I agree with @Judique, be very mindful of how you spend those points and book something special, perhaps a special excursion on your travels, where you spend a few moments sharing your favorite memories of him. Sending big hugs your way.

I am almost glad it is Dec and those wireless credits are ending on my AMEX cards. Used DH Bonvoy Biz on Monday and still no credit Uggh. Off to use my $75 off $75 Verizon to see if it tracks.

Harry and David fail as well. My Rakuten ticket didn't track so I didn't get that back. I did get my AMEX offer to track. My pears arrived about 10 days late. Really annoying since they shipped from a warehouse 30 mins from my home. I could have just picked them up! Anyway they arrived in horrible shape. Emailed H&D customer service and did get a credit for those.

FNC success.

Just sharing that one of my daughters turned 21 this week. For her gift, we gave her a nice birthday celebration at the Mediterrean restaurant at our local Kimpton, drinks at the rooftop bar and a night's stay at the local Kimpton (using a FNC, of course). The Kimpton Journeyman in Milwaukee is in a historic section of "downtown" and very walkable to restaurants, the public market, etc. She got early check in at about 12, late checkout at 1pm and by using the social password "Just chillin" got a gift bag with beauty/body products and 2 drink coupons (probs worth $30 in drinks). Kimpton also has their social hour with free beer (?) and wine (for sure) in their lobby. For the $89 annual fee on the Chase IHG premier card, I think that was a great use of a free night certificate.

For our party of 11, I charged about $500 to her room between dinner and drinks, so I should earn 25x= 12,500. We use our IHG points at the Kimpton Seafire in the Caymans, where rooms go for about $1500 per night. If I put my churning goggles on just right, that makes those points worth about $268, almost a 50% return. At least that's what I am telling myself after dropping $500.

H & D pears aren't what they used to be. Last year they were small, hard, nasty looking and not sweet. I received it as a gift so I didn't do anything about it. I used to order for us just because we like pears but that was the second round of bad pears.

I'm now ordering gifts from milkbarstore.com. Ironically there is an AMEX deal that I didn't see until AFTER I ordered! I did get 10% off though but could have stacked it.

Apple Cider Doughnut Cake is being delivered today to our son's in laws in NY. Son and DIL are flying from TX this afternoon so it will be waiting for them to share tonight! $61 delivered, however it is SO good!

My box of Harry and David arrived and my pears are perfect! Just not enough pears. The other stuff was fine, I just would have been happy with a full box of pears instead of the moose munch and other stuff. Oh my, I sound like I'm complaining! No. This was a nice gift to me and since I've given directions not to buy me 'stuff' just consumables and Disney gift cards, that's what I got. So far.

Sorry yours weren't great. My last $15 tracked already and I wish I could use the $75 but I don't have Verizon. I'm going to miss the credit.

P2 pulled the trigger and applied. Sigh. Got the pending review auto reply... So, we shall see. Will have P2 call in a few days to make an inquiry or just wait for a denial or approval. Waiting sucks.

Well, P2 FINALLY got approved! He applied on 12/6/2021.

He got the email requesting additional information (proof of ID and FL business address) the next day (12/7/21). Sent requested documents the same day.

Didn't hear back. The automatic message on the phone line went pending a few days later. He tried calling a few times. Didn't have the patience to wait, so hung up while on hold. Stayed pending for over a week.

Finally got through to someone earlier this week after a long hold time, got transferred 3 times and had to give the same info each time, got texted a verification code twice by different representatives. Later rep kept putting him on hold while she "checked" on something. Sounded like roosters crowing in the background! Was so noisy on her end. When she finally got back to him, she kept saying "hello, hello? since no one is answering, I'm going to disconnect the phone now." Got P2 (DH) so MAD. He kept replying to her and she couldn't hear him. He said she literally only gave it 10 seconds before she hung up, not even time to unmute if he had used that function. I told him that she probably had to go feed the chickens! Lol. He was NOT a happy P2. He had enough and was not calling back that day.

Got a NEW email from Chase asking P2 to re-send the info on 12/15/2021. Something about not sending handwritten or expired documents which none were. Resent all the same documents again on the same day.

P2 calls again today. No wait! After asking all the same questions and verifying some information over the phone and a few times on hold, he was approved for the CIC with a $3K CL!! We can work with that. He asked for it to be sent to him expedited to his business address here in FL (instead of our home address in NY), so we should get it by next Tuesday!

It was painful but successful. It was worth a call in even though his was a sole proprietorship application. It would have stayed in limbo for a least a few weeks if not the full month. It need eyes on the actual application to push it through. I just wanted to know approved or denied, so that I could move on.

Interestingly I stumbled into this promotion. I get weekly emails from Simply Miles and usually click through to check the deals. DH and I both have accounts and we both had 1000 miles for $45 at CVS. I thought that was great. Went to CVS and bought gift cards for the kids’ teachers split between our 2 accounts. After all the hubbub about the 5x I checked my account and saw I had the offer. Cool! With any luck DH and I get 5000 miles each for $90 total spend. Pretty small time compared to what some people did, but considering I was clueless about the extra 5x I’ll take it.

are you talking about $15 off? those credit in such a strange way...every month I think it's not gonna work and then it does..... I have to remember to switch my autopay next week.... my entire bill is $19 so this was fun having an almost free phone....
