Had to change my flights for Sept 2022. Got an email from Delta that they changed my schedule. So instead of one layover, they rebooked to a flight leaving 1.5 hours earlier at 6:30am o_O, two layovers, each of them less than 50 mins. I was able to change but the one flight I wanted, wasn’t available in the change window. So I just booked that one and then cancelled the adjusted flight. Hopefully it sticks. I’m waiting for the SW Schedule to open. If those flights are better times, I’ll just move to SW.
Oh dear! No, no, no! We're flying Delta (mostly) now as SWA doesn't have enough non stops! If we had time, we'd just drive...1800 miles one way. :drive:

It's been a long time since I've been on here but it was the first place I thought to go with my random question:

Does using the 'shopping cart trick' for getting store branded credit cards count towards your 5/24?

I assume it does but was hoping for that sliver of a chance I'd be able to snag some store CC's for the discounts. I'm looking at you, VS--you know, since your Orlando outlet sucks now :crazy2:

Any personal credit card that reports to your credit report counts for 5/24. There's no trick to make a store card not appear which is why you never hear mention of them unless it's a card someone got before churning.

If the discounts you'll get from a card that probably doesn't have a sign up bonus are going to add up to be more value than any sub or points you'll get from another card sure. But I'd just wait for one of their good sales and figure out a way to get a deal on their gift card, even if it's just fuel points and a card that gives extra at the grocery store.

Yes it does. Because 5/24 counts new accounts not hard pulls. Same as getting a second+ AMEX. Comenity will report a VS account as soon as the first statement cuts, sometimes that's even before you get the card.

I'm scared.....when my ex and I bought this house 17 years ago, we noticed water in the basement, and weren't sure why (as it was winter). We found out that we had roots growing through our pipes. So a week after having our DD, we had to fork out $7k to have our yard dug up, and a new pipe installed from the house to the sewer (had to replace a chunk of our driveway too). My basement has always had water issues in one corner when it rains. I had noticed that the concrete has been "wet" stained but obv being in MI we haven't really had a ton of rain. It was crazy warm this week....

I went down to do laundry and I have a musty/wet smell. I had ran the washing machine and took a shower earlier today. When we discovered the issue prior it was when we had multiple water things running at the same time. Right now I'm doing laundry and dishes to see. The area where the drain is, is the only "finished" part of my basement. It has a raised floor. Luckily when we repaired it 17 years ago (broke w/ a newborn) we had just laid an area carpet down. So I just need to clean that area (my son has trashed) it and hopefully pull the carpet back, and fingers crossed, just unscrew the "patch". Knowing my ex, he probably did a terrible repair.

Part of me is freaking out. Last time this happened, it was christmas time as well. UGH. I have savings, but OBV I don't want drop drop the money. $7k 17 years ago, I'm sure is A LOT MORE now! Also we had to wait last time for "the spring" so they could dig up the yard. So am I left dealing with this till then? My kids honestly come over here all the time to shower/take a bath. Their dad is only .5 mile away, and my mom's house is only 7 min away. So I have other options but UGH!

The only silver lining I just had....what credit card(s) should I get to cover this mess! I'm thinking something w/ a 0% for awhile. Pay that down over time, while trying to hustle and find money (vs use my savings). NOT WHAT I NEED RIGHT NOW! I wanted to do a Spring Break in Disney, I wanted to try for Hawaii this summer (with my daughter's senior year coming) and then there is Ireland 2023 looming.

Part of me wishes I could walk from this house. My neighbor sold his house listed for 1 day (he also sold it about $70k too low, LOL). I know I have a lot that needs to be done, but I could still walk and have a nice chunk from selling. The problem is, I would turn around and have to drop more on a freaking condo since my kids are still in school. So it's not worth leaving my house. The BF lives 30 min away, so no hopes of moving in w/ him.

I'm hoping maybe I only need the pipes snaked.....but I'm not very optimistic :(

Boo! I don't like your answers but figured that was the way it worked. I held out hope that only having the last 4 of the SS wouldn't link it to my credit somehow. Wishful thinking. No underwear deals for me. And also I really want two $500 nightstands from Pottery Barn...

Does anyone know if you pay for wifi on SW flights with the personal SW card that gives you the $75 airline credit - do you get reimbursed for that? I read that Amex airline credits don't work because the wifi is billed by a third party (at least, I think that was the case for Delta, I'm not sure about SW).

Well, a new CSP will get you $600 and a CIU $750 with their respective spends so personally I can't think of a discount a store card can offer that would be worth it. Unless they're giving you the nightstands for free.

We are seriously considering not renewing our Disney APs next year. I love Disney and ds is 19 months so we’re just starting to share it with him but it’s gotten so expensive with less value. There are so many other local options that are cheaper and lots of fun. We haven’t decided for sure but I didn’t think this would happen.

I can understand why you feel this way. We were just down for the first time in 2 years last month and my hubby didn’t love it. We have another trip planned for March. We will see how that goes…

Looks like you have the Southwest Priority personal card. Per the terms, no the $75 credit excludes inflight purchases. But you would get 25% back for Wifi.

Yes, we bought APs this year for the first time. Seems like we usually do go twice in 1 year, so it was a break even kind of thing. But after going twice, we are Disneyed out for a while. Last week when we were talking about the good old gc days, it really reminded me that the prices used to be so much lower and we got great gc deals on top of that! We still love Disney, and it is cheaper than many other destinations, still. But I probably wouldn't get APs for all of us again.

It’s hard because we live so close and I love taking ds often but we’ve been thinking about what we could use that money on instead. I’m not sure what we’ll decide. We may do some resort stays without doing the parks. Ds loves MK though

On my chase account this is what it says about grocery "Through June 30, 2021, in addition to eligible purchases made in the Travel category, purchases posted by June 30, 2021 in the Gas Station and Grocery Store categories will also count toward the $300 Annual Travel Credit." I guess the way to check is to spend a small amount and see.

Yeah, the one time checking the fine print doesn't help you. Chase never updated the portal when they extended it.
It had been listed in their card benefits webpage but I guess since we're so close to the end of the year it's not showing now (or I keep finding the wrong page) but gas and groceries will work until 12/31/21. We just used up all $300 at grocery stores in November.

Did the SW points transfer credit benefit begin immediately for all cardholders? I thought my email said it would begin with my next anniversary date (1/4), but my benefits summary shows it available. I want to be sure I am already eligible for the credit before I charge the $50 to transfer.
I *just* used this on my SW Premier Biz. I transferred from several accounts to my own, and all credited and soon as the charges left “pending” status. I was relieved!

Trying to find another sw flight to book for my Amex credit. Seeing lots of $104 options. I know $101 works. Anybody done a $104 fare?

Well my test to see if the travel credit still covers groceries worked! $2.49 charge, refunded as the travel credit! So today I'm off to get some VGC at OD/OM and a giftcard at Kroger. Now the last piece of the puzzle, use the GE on my BF, or TSA on the 16yo. I plan on getting her GE once we do passports. So she'd be double covered. I think I might just do the GE for the BF. He can hop customs if in uniform, but not as a general person. Either way I can get appts for either GE or TSA immediately. So I should be able to get the credit used.

Now fingers crossed all I need is my drain snaked tomorrow. REALLY hoping that it's just my drains are clogged and not that roots are growing through again.
