I’ll try to put together my full update with charts later…

ICYMI - Southwest extended their schedule today for flights through June 4, 2022.

Also of MAJOR importance Southwest Airlines next schedule release is expected to occur on THURSDAY December 16th. Yes - that is correct... just one week from tomorrow! For those planning to snag flights, set those calendar reminders so you don't forget! I'll post additional reminders as the date draws nearer.

Currently SW is offering flights through 6/4/22 and this next release will take their schedule out to 9/5/22. This will likely be a popular extension covering all of summer!

Yikes. I've been using mine almost daily since 3/2020. I know when mine goes it's getting replaced with a Bosch 800 series. I do see some of those available. But they're not inexpensive. And I had no clue dishwashers were an issue. I'd probably wait to and get what you want. But I also wonder when these supply chain issue will be resolved because it's feeling like things are not getting any better.
Why do you like the 800? I was looking at the 100. The ascenta (consumer reports top pick) is completely unavailable.

Mine is still ticking well, but I worry because it's 11plus years old. I've thought about just getting a new one before it fails but just haven't pulled the trigger. It's a Whirlpool and it's been excellent. Much better than the Bosch's DD has had at cleaning. But, not really sure what series she has had. But then, it's old school, which means it's not competing against today's models.

I've sporadically done some research and gone away undecided. I also want a dual fuel stove and haven't done that either.

My vote is get what you want and if you have to wait for it, so be it.

We replaced ours about four years ago with a Bosch and I would buy it all over again. Even if I had to wait for it. It's one of the few purchases that I've made that I would do all over again. It wasn't cheap but we use ours at least once a day, sometimes twice a day. It's so quiet you don't even know it's on.

So I would take your time, decide what you want and if its not available either wait till it is or order it. I'm over getting things just to get by, I usually end up hating those purchases!

Which Bosch did you buy?

I realize the rental car issue, but wow, booking a rental shouldn't be the most time consuming part of planning a trip. I currently booked through costco and will keep checking until my trip in March. There and the chase portal, since I have csr travel credit left. The amex portal is currently enough more it negates the difference in the 200 credit and what's left of the csr, plus I'd rather use my csr for the rental.

I do have some hope of prices going down after reading the transportation board, though that is all orlando evidence, and also saw car rental savers and how you get their confirmation and the car rental place, so like you get with costco. I tried googling it for reviews and they were almost all disney related message boards. Has anyone used them?
Autoslash is always my recommendation. I've used them to save money on rentals at MCO, DEN, DAL and CVG. You register your quote with them and they will check rates multiple times daily and let you know if you can save money. They will even check Costco, AAA and AARP rates. In the three years I've been using them they've saved me over $1,500.

Not liking what I’m seeing for the new SW schedule. After expanding nonstop options from our home airport to MCO over the last year, it looks like they’re back to Saturday only. Hopefully it’s just an “off season” thing.

So I currently have what is probably 2007's version of the 100 series. It's totally fine. Honestly my main complaint is the racks make it hard to figure out how to load. But it's quiet, does it's job, and is still going after 14 years. I just think the 800 series is Bosch's sweet spot--it's not cheap, but a lot of value is packed in (quieter, stainless tub, more flexibility with third rack, etc.)

Here's a website comparing the models which may or may not help:

My dishwasher just died (water all over my kitchen floor) and most of the consumer reports recommended dishwashers are out of stock or back ordered. The ones still available are really expensive. I'm seriously considering not replacing it until the supply issues are resolved.

I agree with this. We had a gigantic kitchen reno (due to a d/w leak!) 4 years ago and I purchased the Bosch I wanted and it was delivered and sat in our garage until the install day. It was literally the final day of our reno/remodel and it was 12/22. The d/w had a huge dent in it when they unpacked it! I was SO desperate to have a kitchen back and done that I settled for a "lower" model because it was available/in stock that day. In hindsight, I could have left it empty until the unit I wanted was back in stock. The one I have is fine, but I REALLY wish I'd waited.

My old one was a top of the line kitchenaid. I really loved it and it worked amazingly well up until last night, but at this point it's over 11 years old (bought it in June 2010) and I don't think it's worth even getting a repairman out to look at it.

I use both carrentalsavers and autoslash.... the former usually has the best rates, and I back it up with the latter just to make sure lol. pre covid costco travel used to be cheapest but I'm not seeing that now

Seems to just be Saturday's here too to/from MCO. I will find out next week for sure when I book the return flights but late May its just Sat offerings. Might just have to add one day to our trip as I was assuming a non-stop Friday route home. :cool1:

Honestly this is my same struggle with SW! I've been prepping for a year to earn a CP for next year, but the flight options out of SW have become so limited it's causing me to be hesitant that it'll be worth it for us. The last 4 flights to MCO we've elected Delta over SW because of nonstop options and I'm wondering if I need to be considering a Delta card vs SW cards for a CP. I'm 4/24 so it does impact me for awhile.

Thank you to all that commented about the tax situation. The ex was/is a CPA (he let his license lapse...not my circus not my monkeys, LOL). Anyways, he still looks over my taxes each year. He said I don't qualify for deductions since they are so high. But told me to hold off till 2022, in case Biden changes some tax laws. So I guess I'll be waiting, LOL.

Depends on your tax situation….if you itemize and aren’t already above the $10k SALT limit ….
pay now it would be a 2021 deduction, in January a 2022 deduction
Nice that you can pay the taxes with the $200 GCs…..here I can only use one payment method to pay the full amount owed
Well I haven't tried the GCs yet. But the payment allows multiple payments of any amount, so I think I can likely use them. If not, I'll use a CC, and have to MS the $2200 I have, LOL.

My almost 13 yo "forgets" deodorant too 🙄 and it's quite the effort to get him to shower. I'd settle for foot powder daily because he has the sweatiest stankiest feet. No way he'd wear cologne. When DS had the puberty talk at school, the nurse doing the parent briefing was male and admitted to faking showers when forced. He would go in the bathroom, turn on shower, get water on his hair, then sit and wait until it was "long enough" before turning off the shower. He said his mom caught on gave him lots of "hug & sniff" after showers and sent him back to take a real shower. 😂. Boys.
My son came home from school and stank! I told him he needed to shower last night. This morning I was like dude, put on deodorant. He's like nah, I'm good! I showered. UGH!

Having my first remodel panic attack. Not sure what happened, but the ceiling below my master bath is now damaged. One of the recessed lights is hanging and the joints are super pronounced. Trying to take it in stride but I hate things out of order and having my kitchen ceiling all messed up is going to stress me out. At least the bathroom door I can keep closed.
My ceilings have cracks and nail pops. And in general need attention. I don't think we painted them 17 years ago when we moved in. And I know we haven't since. The BF just did all of them in his house in the last year. So I'm hoping to rope him into doing mine, LOL.

My dishwasher just died (water all over my kitchen floor) and most of the consumer reports recommended dishwashers are out of stock or back ordered. The ones still available are really expensive. I'm seriously considering not replacing it until the supply issues are resolved.
Dishwashers are a mess! I had to get a new one in August and the ex just had the fun of finding one. The one I really wanted wasn't available in white. I was told it could be YEARS before production picks back up fully. So you might want to get an idea on the timeline! The week mine was down was annoying, LOL.

Also "learning" a new dishwasher sucks! My new one is absolutely terrible for dish layout. Sadly to find one I had to only look online and had no way of seeing any in person. Since the layout sucks, I can't get as many items as I used to be able to. So I'm running it more often. UGH.

I'm agreeing with you and I'm a big Costco fan. Just guessing what's happening. Recently car rentals were sky high. Costco may have some sort of agreement or contract at certain price points and are stuck there for some unknown to me period.

I looked at their daily deals for a room at the Swan. I thought it looked a little high so I priced out the same dates on Costco.com and directly with the hotel. I was able to easily beat the price! This surprised me.

So some prices are dropping in the travel industry. Whether they will continue to drop or spike again, I don't know. What I think I know is that people are going to travel domestically regardless. So prices will start following supply and demand.

I've been prepping for a year to earn a CP for next year, but the flight options out of SW have become so limited it's causing me to be hesitant that it'll be worth it for us. This is why SW will never be in my pocket. A CP would be great, but honestly, they have so few direct flights from DTW. And the prices are way higher than the other DTW options. If I ever get the BF to list me as a domestic partner, I would get SW flight privileges, which would be nice. But more so, so I have other options when non-revving and getting stuck, LOL. Right now (well Jan), I'll get Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant, and Alaska. I'll need to look more into how the AA/Jet Blue thing works to see if I can fly under his Jet Blue perks on AA.

We have a Bosch, circa 2016. I looked it up, it's a 500 series. It's insanely quiet, thank goodness for the red dot in shines on the floor. It does take a long time to run a cycle. It doesn't have a heating element, so it doesn't dry plastic well, we just open the door when it's done to let them air dry. It does a great job cleaning though, we have no complaints.
