I ordered from Petsmart yesterday and immediately got the "congratulations you just used your offer" from Amex. $10 back on $75. I made sure to order $76 after all discounts. Well Petsmart shipped all but one item last night, and put a new total in the email. The other will ship later. That's going to cost me the $10 isn't it? Anyone been able to sweet talk Amex into giving the credit in this situation?

Does anyone have any DP on how the new pre-arrival notification for Hilton upgrades works? Are you more likely to receive an upgrade before arrival now? If you don't receive an upgrade, is that a hard no from the hotel or is it still worth asking upon arrival?

We've never received an automatic Hilton upgrade with diamond status, I always end up at the front desking asking when we arrive. We're debating between the Disney Springs Hilton options for our travel day in January. I have the Hilton Buena Vista Palace & the DoubleTree booked right now. Since the main draw to the HBV Palace would be an upgrade to a fireworks view room, if I don't see an upgrade 72 hours out, I figured I could cancel that room & just do the DoubleTree. Any issues with this plan? Both rooms are booked with points, so it looks like I can cancel up until midnight on the day before we arrive.

I had a stay this weekend. Received a notification that there was no pre-arrival upgrade but that I could go to the desk and ask when I got there. I'm guessing the no upgrade had something to do with the room type we had, this particular hotel did not have any two bed suites.
 
WHen I booked last month (LBV Palace) I got a notification in the app maybe a week before about the upgrade- I could either click 'yes' to agree to their upgrade choice,or go in and choose my own location. I wanted to choose my own,b/c I'm weird that way- I studied the map of the place well,and ended up having to call in b/c my choice was actually considered a downgrade.... it was a short easy call to ask for the room I wanted and it showed on app almost immediately. (I wanted pool view,island building,near the DS walkway,but I also knew if I chose right I could see fireworks...it was a great room. I could see Epcot and MK fireworks at night,plus the springs all lit up-it was 5th or 6th floor, the angle facing the pool but also towards those places.) Don't forget the food $12 per day comp (2 per room) that was convenient at the quick serve every morning
 
is anyone having issues with the Hilton App? I have an iPhone 11 pro max, and my Hilton App just auto closes everytime I open it. It pops up and then immediately closes.

iPhone 13 updated the app this morning. Appears to be working fine

I spent a week tweaking things and getting the Celebrity cruise AO to show up on 6 cards. I was thinking I’d wind up with $450 in statement credits and $45k MRs. When I finally read the T&Cs I realized it was for Celebrity cruise booked via Amex Travel. This wasn’t going to work since I’ve got a better deal with my TA. Rookie move and lesson learned. Sigh.

In more happy news I’ve upgraded my Hilton card and now have a second Aspire. Super excited about that!

I also maxed out both Freedom card PayPal 5x bonuses this morning with Bkack Friday discounted Disney GCs at BJs. That’ll be a nice savings towards the annual dues.

i just checked in for my stay at the HBVP. 4 days ago I got an email with available upgrade options (with a price per night attached). I ignored the email since with status, we usually get upgraded for free. I checked in today for my stay tomorrow and it just said check in now & we will try to upgrade at arrival. Instead, I sent a message to the front desk in the app and very politely asked if an upgrade to a fireworks view was a possibility. I got the upgrade immediately on a high floor, fireworks view, away from the elevator!

I've gotten credits when this has been done to me without calling, so I'd give it a few days.
 
I have a $250 SW voucher from the Oct SW cancellation/sickout debacle last month. If I use that to book a fare for myself, can I still book a CP flight for my companion? I've never used a voucher before so I'm not sure how they work. TIA!
