Question on point combining.... Can you combine IHG points between P1 and P2? I can just book with P2's points but it would make it easier on me to combine and manage from one account. Thanks.

My SW biz just arrived yesterday, after no new credit cards for me for over a year. It took almost 2 weeks to get it. Goal is getting back in the game with a shiny new companion pass. I really could have used it this past year, I flew a lot more than I was expecting to. DH had it (we alternate) but I flew more with kids and without him this year. (Un)lucky for me, I have a $2700 car insurance bill due next week, thanks to a teen driver with an accident, so there's my first charge.

not sure "like" is the right thing with teenage drivers. We had two of them and plenty of spend/insurance claims. It's quieter and cheaper now as empty nesters

My amex gold fee just posted. I called for a retention offer last year and got one. There's no way I can close this card. It's my oldest card... over 23 years. I'm thinking if they don't give me a retention offer I will keep it anyway.

Going through my junk emails I had one from AARP offering a 0.1% bonus on Marcus online savings rate for 24 months. I have an existing account, which is paying 0.5% interest now, and was able to add the bonus to it. Small potatoes, but it is a 20% interest rate increase.

Ooh, and DH had a Cap One 360 account he drained last April but didn't close. He got an email offer this week to add $50,000 by Dec 17, keep it there for 3 months, get $450 bonus. I was going to move some money from the Marcus savings, but may look elsewhere at other savings.

I just realized that WM grocery pickup is no longer coding as grocery on my BCP. It must have changed when WM updated their system. I need to pay more attention. Losing out on rewards by using the wrong card is so frustrating.

I just let mine go. Last year I got a retention offer and then the $200 for pay over time. I didn't ask this year for an offer as I made up my mind it wasn't worth $250 to me. But they offered me $100 anyway, with spend. $100 wasn't enough to make me keep it so I didn't even register what the spend was but for $100 anything over 1K was too high in my mind.

Slowly I'm getting rid of cards. The CSP was on the list to be pc'ed and decided to keep it with the hotel credit added, but we will see.

I do have a question- anyone know where I can buy Steam gift cards at any sort of discount or attached to a deal? My Fry's (Kroger) apparently doesn't sell them.

Well I called on my AA Barclay Card. They didn't offer me anything to keep the card so I closed it. I wanted to churn it at some point anyways. I have the Barclay Biz too but that AF will likely post next month. I'll close that too. With the reduced mileage awards gone, and not flying AA till likely summer, doesn't make sense to keep right now. I figure worst case, I can grab a citi AA for perks if I need one sooner than later. Though I think the barclay card still had the cell phone protection that my IHG card is losing. I guess it's time to find another card w/ the coverage.

Did one last grab of $400 cards at OD. The cashier didn't even ask what amount I wanted on the cards or check my IDs, LOL. Only $1k left on my CIC spend.

So, is there anywhere to track points used with Hilton. I'm trying to figure out how our second night at Hilton Bonnet Creek was paid. I booked the first night with my FNC, I booked the second with P2s. My account has my parking receipt, P2's account shows his parking receipt. Both receipts have the same "rate plan" of L-HHNSRR. Both email confirmations look the same, Standard Reward Night at 60K points. I'm beginning to think points were used and not the FNC, I wasn't tracking points then so I didn't notice (I now track weekly).

Kind of irritating that she may have booked the second night using his points and Gold status, at least it could have gone on my Diamond status. I got a lot more points for that one night stay than he did, I think there was some type of bonus promo on my acct.

This happened to me in Feb. They booked my FNC as points. I called and got the points back. I had to call the Diamond line and get it escalated. They let me keep the FNC too! You can see what's been taken out of your account online. For me it was like 100k or something. So I really argued for those back!

Do you have more than 1 Hilton card? DH got the e-mail for his Surpass, but it was actually targeted for his Aspire.

It also shows up on our Amex Offers under Featured.

The MR portal is pricing sky high for some reason. At least the UR portal is working normally - I'd just rather burn other points first. But whatever. Argh! #FirstWorldProblems

I've purchased them at Target (near electronics), Walmart, CVS, BestBuy, Rite Aid, and Walgreens. You should be able to get at least 5% discount with Target card or WM Freedom category. There's the BestBuy amex offer 25/250, if you have it and want to spend that much at BB. I think there's also a Rite Aid offer on some Chase cards. Some wholesale clubs also sell them. I bought some once from Sam's online and they came unactivated. That was a big mess to fix.
