How likely is it to have your closing date changed with SW? I was approved on 10/22 using a link from DS. My payment due date is December 18th but I don’t see my closing date on the app. My DS’s SW closing date is the 24th of the month and his account has yet to post the points for him. SW RR customer service said it could take up to 8 weeks. Hoping they post at his next closing date as that will earn him a CP for 2022. I did call SW on 10/28 when I had not received the card so they expedited one for me as I was leaving for Germany on 10/31. She even asked if I wanted to change the closing date then but I didn’t see the benefits then. Also, is any spend I put on the card after an early December closing date count towards 2022? Hope that makes sense. I’m in Germany until January 1st and could make some headway on purchases over the holidays here.😁

Wondering the same thing. My first statement is due 1/2. I think this means the statement cfloses 12/7. So I'm not spending until then. Of course I have two bills due 12/6 (water and personal property tax).

The 2 shoprites by me all have signs that gift cards are cash only :sad1:…haven’t attempted to buy with a cc
We like the prisoner wine also

My shop rite also has the cash only sign for gift cards, but I’ve never been denied using a credit card. I always buy a few groceries along with the card, though, usually about ten dollars worth of sale stuff. It’s worth a try. Good luck.

It could have changed, but usually Chase will change your payment due date which will in turn change your closing date. It's possible they can directly change the statement dates now, but just be sure you and the rep are on the same page when having something changed.

There are a couple ways to find your statement closing date (there was just a question on r/churning about this with good info
) but I'd guess you're setup with the "3 day" system based on your dates. Many Chase personal cards have payment due 3 days before a statement close. You can call to confirm, but with an approval date of 10/22, 11/21 would be a month long statement cycle and would give you a 12/18 payment due date.

If you want a CP for 2022-2023, then you want to make sure you do not complete the spend until after your Dec closing date. I'm guessing that is around 12/21 but call to confirm. Chase sends the points to your SW RR account a day or two after statement close. So if you make spend before Dec closing, your points will post in 2021. Likewise, if your DS has had a statement close already with some spending on it, those points should have posted by now. Your DS should check with Chase and make sure they have the right RR account number and nothing is wrong with the link to SW.

your best bet is to join the waitlist whenever sony has their own release. I think if u got PS+, u may get some priority. other than that, i would try joining Best Buy waitlist.
Target has their drop around 7am est, so if ur up that early, u can try but they arent easy to grab. avoid walmart. and good luck!
I do get up early but I never know when target will drop. i guess I just need to check every day. I can’t find a way to join a waitlist at Best Buy.

If you cancel, any travel fund you combine will go with the earliest expiration date. If you're short and add cash to the reservation, that will also go with the earliest expiration date if it ends up becoming a travel fund. Travel fund expiration is travel by and not book by (maybe obvious, but I always have to remind myself of this one).
Ok thanks...she should be fine.... they expire 9/22 and she's traveling in January.

So I managed to get $800 in VGC at OD yesterday. I went afterschool. Then the BF wanted to look at office chairs, so I grabbed another $400. We ended up ordering his chair online, so I get to go back and pick that up today...and get another $400, LOL. I think my goal is getting the $2800. And then pushing through Serve.....My OD had NO signs up, which means they had a ton of cards!

My new SW Biz card has a due date already (12/18) but under closing date says "not available ". On the app there is a place to request changing due date but it says unable to change date, account too new. Not sure if they'd change if you call, but apparently not on app.

Looks like I got approved for the SW card on October 22, and my sons closing date was October 24, a Sunday. I have access to his RR account as I set it up for him when he was a kid so I get all his SW emails. He’s 24 now. He didn’t understand the value of RR points until I explained how they worked, as I usually book his SW tickets. Now he’s got 101,000 RR points earned since February, plus an additional 15,000 points given to him by SW this year, so he only needs 9000 points towards a CP! I’m being careful about using my SW card here. Charging most things on my United Quest since most of my tickets are booked thru United for Europe and I anticipate at least yearly trips here for the next few years. DD is stationed here in the Air Force. DS and DH will be joining me before Christmas to spend time with our DD, DSIL, and soon to be born GS.
I did send a message to Chase through the App to ask when my closing date was and to ask about changing it.

Mine says the same thing. Hate to call from Germany, hope I can get it changed thru messaging them.

Well, so much for timing the application date for a personal SW card. DH was instantly approved this morning, and the new card is showing up in his account with a Jan 12 due date. That should mean his closing date is the 15th of the month. It doesn't fit the pattern I was expecting (15-17 days after application). Oh well. I'm glad that the biz card signups are not at an all time high, otherwise I'd be annoyed. As it stands, I'll go for a SW Biz after Dec 15 to make sure his support points don't post until the 2022 statement.

anyone know if Capital One considers Venmo a cash advance? I need to make a legit Venmo payment, only like $15 and I am in my MSR phase.

Holy cats. Chase UR customer service is annoying the heck out of me. It's been 3 weeks now and we still haven't heard anything about the "stuck" car rental that no one can seem to manage to cancel (us, Chase, or Alamo) and I just spent THREE HOURS on the phone cancelling our spring break cruise (because the covid protocols with a 2-year old won't make for an enjoyable vacation for us.) And at the end of the call the CS representative says that it'll take Carnival up to 14 days to process the refund, and then Chase "up to 1-2 billing cycles" to refund us. Ummmm. So we might not get our points and money back until February or March???? Please tell me that this is CYA on their part laguage and not what we should actually expect because I would like to be able to use our 300k+ points to book something else for our family.

Also, is the ability to purchase Universal tickets gone from the UR portal? Or is it in a really weird spot that I'm not seeing?

That's typical refund info, not specific to UR. I'm always told that it can take that long, but it never does. Ive never had anything refund in a different billing cycle, even when they say it can take 2.

I had a $5000 credit due back to me via Chase SW card. Once I saw it hit, I filled out some form on the web (can't recall where it was but seemed easy to find) and then they sent me an email w/in a day asking me to confirm my repayment method. It hit my checking account a few days later. This was not any kind of cancelation of purchase/booking via Chase travel, but just a reversed charge.

Finally got Shop Small offers on mine and DH's HH Amex. It's spend $15, get $5 back, and can be used twice. I know it works at the Chinese takeout we always order from, so we should have no issue using all 4 of these by expiration, which is 12/31/2021. Check your cards!

ETA: My 2 FNC from IHG (issued this year) *finally* had expiration dates updated as well to 12/31/2022!

I checked all my cards a couple of hours ago, and had nothing :-(
