My statement closes 12/09. I take your comment to mean they would not apply to RR until a month later? On the spend side, I’m not even touching my card until next year to play it safe (we’re finishing our MSR on P2 Sapphire anyway and got until 2/9 to get $2000).
The support links end 12/1... if she applies 12/1, there is a chance that the 20K will go pending on Tuesday 12/7 (referral points always go pending on Tuesdays), so they might post on your 12/9 statement.

Well I see OD/OM and Staples have VGC this week. Looks like I'll be trying to hit as many OD/OM as I can, to try and knock out more of my CIC MSR. I never did get to Meijer to do their offer last week...partly because I'd have to wait in a checkout line and they are ALWAYS so long.

I have the $8k FNC offer from Hilton. I was seeing on FB that most are suggesting waiting until Jan 1 to hit that spend heavy, so the $8k also goes towards the $15k spend. I'm not sure if I'm going to tackle this, as $8k is a HUGE spend to go after for only 1 FNC. But at the same time, a FNC at Hilton can be worth something. I know the fine print says excludes GC purchases....so hmmmm, LOL.

Oh and if you remember my "he's an ex for a reason" post (my ex exchanged his URs for amazon).....the BF asked me this weekend the best way to use HIS URs! I was like, THANK YOU for asking me.....he only has a CFU, so he decided to cash them out. We're not the same household to transfer them to get the 1.5x I can get, LOL.

Just an FYI, OD/OMax are only allowing 1 offer per household so your mileage may vary.

Also Staples is doing Mastercards. The Visa deal ended on Saturday and MC started Sunday - how do I know? I messed up and missed the Saturday cutoff.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I think I’ll hold off on that. I don’t imagine another 100k offer will show up soon, but at least then I’d have a better idea of where I stand. It might be more practical to wait until end of 2022 and see if we can go for 2023-2024 so we can have overlap, but also some value for 2024. I don’t imagine I will go for a second CP myself, but who knows where we’ll be in 2024.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but I just cancelled my trip with ds to see the Christmas markets in Vienna, Salzburg and Munich (I cancelled Prague and Bratislava a few weeks ago). Germany, in the last few days, designated Austria a 'high risk' area and mandated a 10 day self-isolation for all travelers arriving from there. That would leave just Vienna and Salzburg on the agenda and with cases spiraling there currently, we decided we would just wait until next year :sad:. I am absolutely gutted that I had to cancel this trip. Never imagined that we would still be at this point almost 2 years later.

The hotel in Salzburg I booked 2 rooms: 1 on UR points and the other cash with AmEx (using the $200.00 hotel credit, $200.00 travel credit and the rest cash), had a 30 day cancellation window that passed on November 10th. I called the hotel and they agreed to cancel (they said they have been bombarded with cancellations requests all morning) and provided me with cancellation numbers. Just got off the phone with Chase, they contacted the hotel who confirmed the cancellation and they said they will refund the URs to my account. Thank goodness because I would hate to lose the UR points and cash. Not sure what will happen with the AmEx hotel and travel credits -- anyone know if this would qualify as the "refundable hotel trick" (I've never done this).

Oh I'm okay w/ only getting 1/day. My OD/OM is super close. I used to have 2 w/in 5 minutes. But I'll take the 1 I have. I slept on yesterday, but if I can do the next 6 days, that still gets me $2400 in spend.

A couple of Chase rumors:

- New Ink premium business card coming out. Hope the details are announced soon so I can decide if I go to 5/24 until May with a SW personal card.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-to-launch-new-business-credit-card-chase-ink-business-premier/
- SW biz performance current SUB ending 12/31. I'm thinking it'll go back down to 70k.

From a Chase insider on reddit:

I saw those rumors on FB this weekend. It'll be interesting to see if my decision to bypass the MDD w/ the 100k CSP was a good one.

Sorry to hear. 😞 I can commiserate as there's news coming out of Japan that has me worried for our June trip.

With Amex, I think you never know when they'll decide to claw back. You still have time to book something else. If they ever clawed it back, you can point to the fact that you reused it.

Dang it! My 2-year wait for the SW Biz performance ends in January. Bummer.

Got my Hyatt points refund from the peak/non-peak changes. Was tipped off when I got the points deducted e-mail like @afan mentioned.

Interesting how they did it. In the transactions, looks like they delete the initial booking record and then recharge it at the new rate. But the confirmation still shows the old rate.

What news? I haven't seen anything negative in a long time. They just changed the restrictions for biz travelers and tdlr has put out info on tickets.

I'm so sorry, I just read that Europe is seeing an all time high again. DD's school trip to Germany is mid Feb., hoping it doesn't get pushed back.

Well, I guess I'll be holding off on the Biz Plat, I can't do the $15K MSR and the $5K for the SW performance.

Been following r/JapanTravel. There's news that the domestic Go To Travel program is restarting later than people expected. The expectation is that international travel will restart after that, so the timeline that people hoped for is getting pushed back. Speculation seems to be May/June, which feels very down to the wire for me. Your trip is later, so I think yours is more likely to be okay.

Oh well, will just have to wait and see. But the news prompted me to start thinking what if we had to drop Japan and just went to South Korea. They seem more likely to reopen without quarantine.

The article I saw thought it'd restart in feb. Hadn't seen rumors about it. I follow the same reddit but I generally don't read their news posts each month. I don't find it helpful and look at other sources on twitter.

Does anyone know if Southwest releases more "Wanna Get Away" fares after they've been unavailable for awhile? I've been holding off on booking Christmas tickets to see my parents, and the nonstop flights are all showing Unavailable now. Just wondering if I should wait for WGA flights to come back, or bite the bullet and book an Anytime fare.

I guess it's possible, but I don't think super likely. But can't you book now and rebook if the price drops?

It's going to be a $600 cash fare, so I don't want to have that much money tied up in travel funds if I'm able to rebook. But I do have summer travel plans that I could potentially use the travel funds.
