Sounds like everybody’s busy! We are just making string beans w garlic and cranberries, and stuffing with apples, sausage and all the other stuff tomorrow morning, and bringing a rum cake. FIL, a professional baker, used to always make one, so I thought it would be fitting. Happy that DS and his gf and the kids are able to come to Thanksgiving this year, they usually have to work. (GF still hasn’t met some of the family because she’s usually working. DS would often come and stay for an hour before he had to leave, as he works evening shift.) We’ll be going to my SIL’s house, as always. They’re bringing a fruit tray as the young boy loves fruit. DD is making an appetizer that involves Brie and some jam if I recall. We always arrive early so appetizers work. (We never assign the “late” family to that, lol.) We’ll probably also do a turkey dinner at home on Sunday.
@Snowysmom, how do you make your lasagna? I’ve made it several times and it never comes out as good as other peoples’ seem to. We do have a few good places you can buy it, but I really like homemade. I watch people make theirs online and they make it look easy. I think it probably boils down to I am not a huge ricotta fan. I like just a little. Although I love stuffed shells and raviolis, so go figure. It could just be that what I don’t like is mixing egg and other stuff with it. Maybe I should just use it plain. I did see one elderly Italian lady cook online do it that way, so there’s no right or wrong way, I guess.
@lynxstch Wow, I can’t believe Summer finally bought a new car! I hope it’s a good one

and that she drives it in good health (as my mother would say).

She didn’t trade in the clunker? Will her husband drive it? I hope they don’t still have to invest money into it, if so. I saw who won DWTS and even though I’ve never watched the show (and didn’t know that person was in it), I was happy. I have to get my car into the shop. There was an old bottom of a light post sitting in a parking lot and I made the mistake of parking up against it, head in. I forgot it was there when I came out and pulled forward, right into it.

So my front panel is banged up. So irritated! Dumb place for that to be. And dumb for me to park near it.
Bobbi, so glad you’re going to be home for Thanksgiving, and Mona, glad you got some good quality sleep. It bears well that you were able to walk better with sleep. When you get home in your own bed you’ll feel so much better.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving if I don’t get by before tomorrow. I know I have a lot to be thankful this year, for sure. I had wonderful medical care, and people around me have been so good to me. Prayer carried me through, too. If you have your health, count your blessings! We tend to take it for granted until something happens. I always said that if you have your health, anything is possible. Without it, not much is.
