Just wondering if anyone knows how the Global Entry is going now? We are in the midwest and fly out of STL. DH has been approved, but needs his appointment. Last he checked, they were not doing them in STL and said appointment could be done at incoming airport from an international flight. Well, we're not flying internationally right now, so that's not an option. We will be going on a cruise at the end of this month and have to go through customs at the end of that. Do you know if that qualifies as an entry point to do the appointment?

If so, DH will be able to get his done, but I had applied a long time ago and mine expired, so I guess I'd have to get approved again. At this point, I'm sure I wouldn't get the initial approval for an appointment at the end of this month, but we are scheduled for a cruise in February, so might go ahead with application with intention of doing the appointment at that point.

I am thinking of just doing the TSA precheck since I know I can get that done locally and we have enough credit card offers to get it free even though it would be doubling up.

Finally, we also have "Clear" free through AmEx, but I'd much rather have the precheck, but wondered if anyone does both?
Your husband would depend on if they have GE interview capability at the port and have available appointment times. There used to be walkin times at most major international airports. But that's probably not happening now.
Clear works to get you, in my opinion unfairly, to the front of whatever line you need to be in for screening. I know people that have both, they tell me that it can be a huge timesaver depending entirely on the lines. Personally I've never seen a situation where having Clear would save me more than a couple minutes. Where as having Pre routinely saves me over 30 minutes.

I'm about to make my first transfer of URs to Hyatt and I'm nervous. I'm planning to book a property that is 60,000 points per night. We're going to do 3 nights, so I'd need to transfer 180,000 points. Since I currently have zero Hyatt points I can only get so far in the booking. I attached a screenshot of how far I can get. If I hit select it says something along the lines of "you don't have enough points to book this."
If I can get this far, should I be confident that once I transfer the points I'll be able to book the 3 nights for 180,000 points? The cash price with taxes and fees would be $8,703!

Edit to add: I got antsy and just did it. All booked. Ton of points, but I've been wanting to try this place for a long time.
Cancellation policy said refundable 30 days before check in. Is that standard? Would definitely have preferred more like 48 or 24 hours since we're going in February and the weather could be a factor.

This is the language regarding cancellation:

Premium Suite Free Night
Deposit Policy
Deposit By Credit Card Required Deposit Required By October 09, 2021 50 Pct Of 3 Night(s) Deposit Will Be Charged To Credit Card
Cancellation Policy
30 Days Prior or 50 Percent of Stay: 50 Percent Deposit

I booked with points, no free night certs. Can anyone explain this for me?
I've been collecting points for a while now, but still such a newbie when it comes to booking with points.

Where in Buffalo? My hometown!
We are staying in Amherst. We usually stay at the Mosey in Williamsville but decided to try out the Hyatt. We plan on going to the falls, do some shopping and lots of eating lol we love Di Camilo bakery so we will be bringing lots of goodies back!

On Chase biz apps, what General Industry and Category should be used for sale of used items, clothing, etc? There is not a category that matches very well to online sales.

I don’t know what to do. I just applied for a CIC and I have the spinning wheel “Verifying your information...Don't refresh or hit the back arrow or your request will be lost... “ This has been continuing for over 30 minutes. It has asked me if I want to extend the session at least 5 times. I'm thinking it's never going to finish on its own. Has this ever happened to anyone?

After 26 days, dd was approved for CF Student. This is her first card. Yippee!

Congrats - and for another DP - I actually forgot to post, but a couple days ago I convinced DS (also in college) to apply for the CSP before the 100k offer went away - Instant approval - his first chase card. He has had a Discover It for 18 months.

At last - DS can start contributing to the pot of UR's. I might let him have a few for his own use. :P

This happened to DS applying for his CSP I mentioned in the post above. We closed it after about 15 minutes - checked creditkarma after a couple of hours - decided nothing had gotten submitted so we redid the application and got approved.

We also called the chase application status line, but that wasn't helpful - gave some vague message that just said application hasn't been processed yet.

Also - I don't know if it made a difference - but we had the problem using Firefox - when we resubmitted the application we used Edge browser.

Thank you. I just closed it. I will do what you did and check credit karma later this evening. Usually CK emails me right away, and they haven't, so it probably didn't go through. Did you change anything when you redid the application?

It's not typical, but yes there are properties with cancellation policies like this. There are even ones with totally nonrefundable deposits at booking. I believe the policy is that the penalty is in cash, not points. In an emergency, perhaps the hotel would be willing to be flexible, but no guarantees.

So since I booked with points, there’s no deposit, right? Do you think if I end up cancelling before the 30-day mark I won’t lose any points?

I think to Chase it doesn't matter where the sale occurs (online versus offline) but what it is you are selling.

I'd start in the "Retail" categories and select which one more closely matches the type of things you sell. I mostly do used/vintage/collectible items so I pick Retail: Books, Hobbies, Music, Sports, General, Nonstore retail which then gives me an option to pick Used Merchandise Stores. Sounds like that might be a good fit for you as well.

I applied for a CIC on Monday - first business card, sole proprietorship, rather low yearly income (I think I put either $1000 or $2000). Got the "received your request, we'll let you know our decision asap" message and e-mail. Still haven't heard anything from them. Is this a normal waiting time to be approved? Any numbers I should call to follow-up on it? I'm getting mixed messages about how to proceed from Reddit posts.

Took like 10 days for my husbands approval last month.
