Holy smokes, dd decided we should sell our Harry Styles tix . Prices were insane on stubhub so I listed wayyyy lower than the others in similar sections, thinking that would work. Well I guess I went too low, they sold in 20 minutes!! We made a profit of over $200 a ticket LOL, guess I should have gone for more. Judging by the guys email address, I suspect he might resell them, but oh well.
Wow he turned around and relisted them immediately on Stubhub for $360 more each than he paid for them.

PS No wait on the chat option. Reservation fixed.
I might have to try that. It still wont let me pick the option I want for my outbound flight. But I was able to reserve it as a new flight. So it makes no sense. It was 600 points higher. So depending on the value of points like 7-12 dollars. That wasn’t worth the 77 minute wait time that was quoted. I haven’t cancelled the first one yet so I might try chatting to see if they will change it to what I want.

Now my return flight was changed to a two stop instead of a one stop. I just changed that, all the options were available. The new flight is currently 10,000 points higher than what I paid. I wasn’t going to pay that. I would have waited on hold for that kind of difference.

But, but, I'm like Smaug of URs. 😅

I do totally see your point about transferring URs, and as long as I have a CP then I can get 2.4c per UR by redeeming with SW. I've been doing pretty well with transferring to Hyatt too. But sometimes booking through Chase travel at 1.5x is better than transferring URs (I'm looking at you, United) so I want to keep a decent stash of URs at the ready.

So I am viewing at it as paying 1.57 cpp and getting 2.4 cpp out (bc of CP, with the caveat being that I need a new CP for 2022-2023). I gotta say, the change window is amazing and that stretches the cpp of each RR even further, for however long it lasts. I love being able to speculatively book with RRs knowing that I'll get all the RRs back if I cancel with no expiration. It's hard to put a concrete dollar value on that flexibility, but I am willing to pay something for it.
I read that article..... honestly RR's are so valuable to me for booking/cancel/speculative bookings that it still seems like a decent deal to me....I value that flexibility a lot.

Our original flight was TUL -->DAL --> MCO it was changed to: DAL--> IAH-->MSY-->MCO. Even the chat agent commented on the crazy change.

Thanks, I saw that after I had figured it out on my own. I was looking for my brother, who was able to save about 5k/flight to pick the exact flights he wanted.

I told myself that with this next change window I would make a decision about Hawaii. I change my mind depending on the day. After reading your post I was leaning toward going. Then the news about a second rapid test on arrival in Maui had me leaning no. But I have three FNC expiring in August and 4 in May. There is absolutely no availability for the Grand Wailea when we could go. I even checked during non school times and just have my husband and I go, and there is still nothing. So then I think, just go. It won't be the same as pre Covid, but I don't know when we will get the opportunity to stay at the Grand Wailea using 7 FNC.

I'm in the same boat, but with 3 FNC, 2 expiring. Was thinking about dropping the Maui part after Kauai since if things don't change, we'd have to test in Kauai. But can't think of anywhere else I'd want to use my FNCs. There's a new Waldorf in Southern CA I wouldn't mind going to, but of course couldn't find any standard nights. I'm worried about the vacation rental we have booked in Hana since we'd lose money if we canceled within 2 weeks before. I do have back up nights booked at the Grand Hyatt Kauai, so I could drop Hana and just go to the Grand Wailea.

Hawaii is looking to expand the vaccine passport by July 4. There's talk of dropping the interisland testing requirement then too. Our trip is mid July, so cutting it close! I'm keeping plans as is for now, will have to watch and decide later.

Does anybody know if some kind of a tracker exists for the grocery spend on the Freedom Unlimited? I could've sworn there was a way to track it previously but I can't find it now. We get 5% for the first year or up to $10,000 (I think?) and I feel like we are getting close and will want to switch our grocery spend to a different card.

I have looked and can't find it either. I am still getting 5x but would like to figure it out before I buy a GC at the grocery store.

My DD is begging me to buy her tickets. I told her I will once I know a concert is actually happening, LOL

I wanted to go to his concert in Orlando but it’s sold out

Ours says it is too, but I don't recall hearing it sold out. I am thinking, at least here, that they halted additional sales in case they have to limit capacity.

I was suprised my dd said to sell, I was relieved frankly, it's on a Wed night and it's almost an hour each way LOL. I do like Harry though. We paid for these in November of 2019 and won't get our money from the sale until 9/23. Yikes.

That makes sense. I’m not sure how ds would do there anyway and Dh doesn’t want to go lol

DH's last Amex card was 12/20 (Biz Green), "he's" going to apply for the Hilton Biz, what are the odds he doesn't get a HP? I'm concerned about the HP because "he's" going to attempt the Sapphire MDD next month - early next month).

Good point, but I never think about that when making purchases. I would have to use the card on the purchase to get that benefit :teeth:!
One other point is that you can turn off the auto-renewal feature for the Costco membership. I don't know if it will eventually close the card, but I have turned auto renewal off and then I wait until I go to use it again to pay the membership fee.

DH and I both have old Amex cards. Neither of us has ever gotten a hard pull in the 20+ Amex cards since starting this hobby.

If he hasn't had a hard pull since his first Amex, I'd say chances are pretty good. Even better if his first one was a long time ago.

It does run from the airport to downtown! You may have to change trains at Union station but I'm not 100% on that. The Hyatt Regency is at the convention center station and that is obviously a big destination for those coming from the airport so may not even need to change. Once you are at the Hyatt, as @StephPlum said, it's very walkable to a lot of restaurants (iirc, there is a Rock Bottom brewery and Bubba Gumps right there).

I noticed they've been releasing the dates for ticket sales really slowly! Makes it hard to plan I know lol!!
Excellent info. Booked the Hyatt Regency today. Thanks!

On the app, click “see all transactions” and then “spending summary.” You can filter by time period and spending category, including groceries.

Thanks for the tips! We do plan do have Dh board first and I’ll keep ds with me to run around the airport until about the last second to board. His pediatrician said they don’t recommend meds at this age so we’ll just go without. I’m planning on using his pacifier a ton. It should help a lot. He loves his pacifier. So far he’s never been interested in watching anything. Maybe that’ll be different on the plane but he doesn’t have the attention span to sit and watch something
He's young yet! Mine didn't really have any interest in watching anything until 2.5yo-ish.
