Another option when you get a passport, also get a passport card. You can use the passport card as the Real ID.

I didn’t want to go through all of the hoops of getting the Real ID, so when I renewed my passport, I added the passport card which was the same cost as updating my license to the Real ID. It means carrying another card in my wallet along with my license, but I don’t care.
I figured my passport is good for another five years, I will just use that instead of bothering with a REAL ID.
I also learned that the Global Entry card (which is otherwise not used) works for TSA. Just in case someone has that and doesn't want to deal with a real ID. I have used it in the past (wanted to test it while I could still use my normal DL if it failed) and had no issue. I plan to use that or my passport card instead.

Is getting a Real ID that much hassle? I have an enhanced driver's license so I can cross the border w/o a passport. When you live in MI, and Canada is closer than Ohio, it just makes sense, LOL. I now have the passport too though.

My DD just got her driver's license. I decided to pay the extra $15 to get her the enhanced license (since she doesn't have a passport yet). It took all of 30 extra seconds to get that vs the regular license. I know it requires more "papers" but we had her birth cert and everything else for her license anyways.

I've had the enhanced for years...essentially since MI started to offer them. And the enhanced is essentially the same as a passport card so it's already a Real ID. I'm just shocked if it's that much of a PITA in other states.
It was super easy in MD. I took the requested documents, they scanned them, updated the system and I was out the door. Five minutes tops. MD allows you to make appts specifically for it. MD had a big push for it and I think we have one of the higher compliance rates.

Has anyone had a Hyatt stay delay posting? Our Tahoe stay was under 2 back-to-back reservations. Seems like that messed something up. The first reservation posted quickly. But the second one hasn't posted. I did the request missing credit after 72 hours, didn't hear anything back, so chatted a couple days after that. But was told the request is in and it takes 5-10(?) business days. Good thing I don't actually need the points or elite nights yet. But annoying since I just want to see it and keep checking.

Learned something new tonight. GE expires on your birthday, not 5 years from the day you get it. DH had looked his up and said we had several months to renew, but then when looking more carefully, he found that DD's has already expired. It was really hard to get those interview dates 5 years ago, so I'm not looking forward to this. Here we GO(ES) again. :rolleyes1
Ooh, I got mine summer of 2016 and my birthday is in May. Have to look into that. My DL also expires in May and we just moved. Planning to go to St Lucia end of May, though I see the State Dept just added it and a huge number of places to its DO NOT TRAVEL list due to covid variants.

Just logged into trusted traveler site, and it says I was approved in August 2016 but don't expire until May 2022. Phew.

I think the PITA is just having to go to the DMV (which has been open/closed/open through the pandemic) when your DL hasn't expired yet. Securing the proper paperwork is NBD. Budgeting 2+ hours to stand in line is a PITA.

I already got approved for my travel insurance claim from CSR for our flight on 4/11 that was cancelled due to weather. Didn't have a huge claim as we were able to head back to our FL home for lodging. I submitted rental car, breakfast at the airport and 2 extra days of parking at MDW. Not bad for only having paid $5.60 on the CSR for my DH's companion ticket!

My 0% interest is ending on my BOA card on 11/7/2021. I feel like I always get nailed not doing this correctly. So when do I want to either transfer the balance by or have it paid off? I only have $3k on the card right now. I have the money to pay it off (always have). But I was letting that sit in HYSA and collecting interest on it, vs paying the card down. I don't think there's a $0fee/0% card I can transfer to, so it'll be time to pay it off.

I guess I wanna hold onto the $1800 (the payoff amount) for as long as I can, LOL.

Can I upgrade my CSP to CSR over SM or do I have to call?

ACK!!! I got my sapphire card mixed up with DH's. Mine has been opened under a year! Dang!

How long do you have to PC a CIP after AF? The annual fee posted 4/1 and have not had time for (DH) to call. Wondering if you have 30 days after the fee posts to still get it refunded?
