Any thoughts or advice for me? Or am I already too late to avoid the annual fee that is hitting tomorrow?
Thanks again for the help.

As long as you cancel within 30 days the AF will be refunded. Good news is with Chase you can cancel a card by secure message, no need to call! So apply for a new card, then cancel the old one is fine.

Hello,
I am a dabbler in the SUB churning game.
I am currently looking for a new business card. I currently have Southwest Premier which I have had for 25 months and I just realized the annual fee will post tomorrow. I am contemplating applying for CIU today and calling to cancel the Southwest premier today to avoid the annual fee or will this raise flags?
My business is a sole proprietor with limited annual revenue (approximately $2500/year) but I do have good credit. Currently the Southwest Card is my only business card and I am 2/24 for my personal cards if that matters (but I didn’t think it did for business cards??)
Any thoughts or advice for me? Or am I already too late to avoid the annual fee that is hitting tomorrow?

:welcome:
With Chase you have 30 days from the date the statement with the annual fee closes to cancel the card and get the annual fee refunded...
If possible wait until the anniversary RR points post to your account before closing
Your plan is fine..just make sure your total credit limits with Chase are under 50% or about $75k of your household income

Anyone else patiently (on impatiently) waiting to see is CSP New 80,000 SUB will soon be allowed by referral. Waiting to do MDD but am seeing if referrals come available as they did last time...

It was about three weeks before RAF links got the offer in the fall. (Around 9/14 or 9/15 for the public offer, 10/5 for RAF links)

You still need to be under 5/24 to apply for Chase business cards. Chase doesn't report business cards to your personal credit report (unless you go delinquent) so getting a biz card won't add to your 5/24 count, but yes your 5/24 status matters.

I would apply for the CIU before you close the SW Biz. Chase has been stingy with CL on biz cards lately so you may want to transfer your existing CL to the new card. Or it could be helpful to offer to transfer credit should you need to recon the CIU application.

Plus you'll want to make sure your SW anniversary points posts to your RR account before canceling. If you cancel within 30 days of the AF posting you get a full refund. I cancelled mine by SM and the fee was refunded within a day or two.

I wish android would stop updating the software on my phone. Had another today with yet another "fix" that was unnecessary and I can't find a way to change it. This seems to be the pattern of their updates as all of the recent ones have changed something that didn't need to be changed. This one shows apparently we're lazy as when I go to switch to another open app it also gives me 5 icons at the bottom of my most used apps. Most of which are already open so...

Not an apple fan either but if they keep changing things I may have to see if samsung is doing the same as lg with these updates.
That sounds like a launcher update which is almost always the manufacturer and not the OS. When I go into the open apps list on my Samsung S10 it shows 4 on the bottom of the screen, sometimes they're the most used, sometimes not.
For all of us planning National Parks summer trips, lots of NPs announced that they are implementing a reservation system.
Is there a list somewhere? I'm taking the family to Rushmore as soon as school lets out.

Dh called Disney at 7 am and got right through to someone. The guy on the phone said we’re eligible to buy new APs but he isn’t able to do it for us. He had to fill out a form and send it to a different department that’s supposed to call us. I’m wondering how long that will take? I’m glad APs get a different pool of park reservations because May is starting to fill up for normal tickets. Having the AP will take a lot of pressure off our 2 days there. Instead of trying to go back to MK after ds’s nap we may just do 2 mornings and spend the rest of the day at the fort
Timelines I’ve seen on the AP thread vary from a couple days to a few weeks. No rhyme or reason. I would have the person whose phone number they have, have payment info on hand (like maybe store it in a note on your phone?) at all times so you’re ready when they call.

That’s a good idea. Today I was carrying around the card with me lol. I need to put it in my phone. I hope they call sooner rather than later. I don’t like waiting around wondering if they’ll ever call me

Dang. I was planning a potential drive across most of the US this summer, but if I can't just pop into a couple of parks (I don't know my dates yet, so I can't reserve anything) it sounds like it won't work out. :sad2:

I only checked details at Glacier, but they’ll have 2/3rd of the reservations available 60 days in advance and the other 1/3rd 2 days before. So you might have a chance.

Ugh. Chase needs to update their customer service a bit.

I got an email that they had declined a $1.19 charge for possible fraud. (I need to set up texts alerts. Got a new number this week.)
In any case, I didn’t want to reply to the email in case it wasn’t genuine. Called the number on the back of my card, and had a horrible connection. The agent asked if he could call me back, because he said he was working from home and the internet was bad. He did, but it was no better, so I told him I’d call back for another agent.

Second agent also had a very poor connection. We did get as far as him reading part of the merchant’s name to me, so at that point I knew the email was genuine, but I told him he was breaking up so much I could barely make out what he was saying. He put me on hold for a few minutes, and then I got hung up on.

It shouldn’t be so difficult to confirm fraud on a card. I was getting super frustrated. Forgot to mention I called a couple of times before the bad connection, and the system didn’t recognize my mother’s maiden name. I seem to remember the last time there was fraud on my card, I was able to speak directly to the fraud department by pushing a button. Just aggravating. I must be cranky tonight. Have been in quarantine and working from home for a couple of days because our classroom had a Covid case. But, the good news is I get my second vaccine on Monday. Yay!

Chase has been the worst of any of the companies I’ve called post-COVID shutdown. A number of companies had bad connections at the beginning sure- but Chase never fixed it :badpc:

Thanks for the heads up. I heard Glacier was thinking about a reservation system but wasn’t sure when they would announce it.

I am still planning Glacier For end of July/beg August. I’ll need to book an entry reservation for the beginning of my trip. I wanted to drive GTTSR to Many Glacier. I have room reservations in MG but that isn’t one of the hotels that has an entry reservation attached. My other nights in Rising Sun and Apgar Village Inn do include entry reservations. With all the road work this year, I don’t want to drive hwy 2 to get to MG but at least it is an option if I can’t get reservations. Or enter before 6am. No entry reservation needed before 6am or after 5pm. That actually isn’t too hard as I’ll probably stay on Eastern time.
