Back from Carmel Valley Ranch (Hyatt Unbound Collection). 3rd night free rate. Split the payment 4 ways. Amex Offers $60 back on $300 x2. First payment was the deposit, second at the hotel just in the nick of time before it expires. Hopefully the Unbound Collection $75 back on $250 x2 too. But can't remember if I registered both of us. Guess I'll find out in a few days. 🤞 Q2 Bonus Journeys promo 2500 points already posted along with the regular stay points. As expected, only got elite nights for the 2 paid nights.

I put up a review on our hotel thread.

Would you say it’s worth 25k Hyatt/night? I’ve booked and canceled a weekend getaway at this place several times now.

I think so. The rooms are really nice and service is friendly. If you go in the summer, they have lavender fields. Looks beautiful in the photos. Did you take a look at the activities calendar online to see if there are things you'd want to do?

UPDATED SOUTHWEST CARD OFFERS:
The 30k + CP through 2/28/22 offer is still loading although it did technically expire yesterday.

NEW Support Links now show this offer on all 3 personal cards:
  • Earn 40,000 points Plus, earn 3x points on dining purchases for a year.
The Business offers remain unchanged. Now is not necessarily the time to grab a SW personal card. Hopefully something better will come along soon though. Please update links on DISchurners as necessary!
Not exactly sure when they died, but old support links for the CP offer are gone. May need to generate a new link for the new offer as it looks like they changed the URL (226 old, 257 new) so not all links automatically adjust - mine just opened an error page. Several folks on DISchurners do the same.

Now you have me thinking about moving my reservation to summer. You know I’m a sucker for lavender fields. Only 40k/night suites for the dates that I’m looking.

Question about Betterment and Hyatt...
How long do you have to keep the Betterment account open? I got the $127 posted to my rakutn account. Is there a specified length of time we need to keep it open?

For the Hyatt 5K bonus for spending 50 times, has anyone gotten that posted on their account? I thought it had posted but I'm thinking it the 40 nights tier award that's on my account.

Hello! I was wondering if any Bonvoy loyalists could offer any insight to this situation.
Both DH and I currently have accounts. He has the Marriott Bonvoy Amex (formerly SPG) and also the Marriott Bonvoy Business Amex. Both cards offer 15 free nights towards status benefits per year. Currently, he has 43 nights towards his status because of a promotion Marriott ran where they gave 13 extra nights.
I currently have the Marriott Bonvoy Amex (formerly SPG) and I have the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Visa. I thought that both of these cards also offered me 15 nights a year, but I currently only have 28 nights towards status. I spoke to customer service today and she told me that no matter how many cards you have you can only get 15 nights a year towards status, but that’s clearly not the case with DH.

Should I call and ask for my extra 15? Or did DH just luck out, so I shouldn’t call attention to that?

It really isn’t that big of a deal except that he does nothing involving our finances or traveling, so I’m a little salty that he will be getting the glory of platinum benefits and I will not 😆

I’d be grateful for any insight :)

We don't discuss Wells Fargo cards much, but I know some folks here have cards or were looking into their portfolio so I'll pass along a rumor that the Wells Fargo Propel cards may be discontinued next month.

Now, it sounds like WF does what many issuers do and removes the products for new applications but existing users are maintained for a period of time. No confirmation that is what they will do here, but it's logical.

The second 'source' in the thread says the Cash Wise card is affected too. I think that wouldn't leave them with much of a portfolio ending two card lines, so grain of salt, but anything is possible. Especially if they intend to introduce new products. So who knows what will happen in April.

Marriott changed the CC earned nights so that having a Biz card and a Personal card now stack and you get 15 for each card. This is only for holding a Business card and a personal card and maxes at 30 nights no matter how many biz or personal you have.

Since you have two personal cards you only get the 15.

The rep is remembering or reading the old rules that came out with the new Bonvoy program (2018). I think it was last year that they introduced the change that allows stacking again.

Thanks so much for this explanation! I guess I’m going to have to ride DH’s coattails with his platinum status this year :)

Yes. But keep in mind the deductible is $100. Depending on the model of your phone and where you do your repair, your cost may be around the deductible amount or a just little more. I’ve read the claims process is a PITA, so you need to decide if it’s worth your time.

See for example.

Here’s another DP: Credit card cell phone insurance success & lessons learned - Frequent Miler.
The microphone stopped working on my sons phone. I tried to do a claim and they told me it was not covered, it was considered normal wear and tear. It ended up working out ok for us because we traded in all of our phones with AT&T and got a really good deal on upgrades for the whole family instead.

I don't think this bonus has posted yet. I think the usual 6-8 week language applies, so probably won't see the 5k pts until next month sometime.

Question for anyone who has a BOA business card. DH applied for one a few weeks ago. Online it shows 2 biz cards with 2 different numbers. The first says something like CORP in front of it. They sent him a card with the 2nd number on it, and a letter reminding him of the bonus with the 1st card number listed on that. Is that normal? Thought I would check before I have him call. Do they set up some kind or parent account and then send out a card with a separate number? Don't want to put $5000 spend on the card if it is nor for the bonus. Not even sure I am making sense!

Is this your first bofa biz card? Their biz interface is the worst and I know I will grumble when I have to use it but also know I'm going to hit the spend with 2 purchases and then pay it off.

It's super confusing, but yes it's how it shows up. It would make sense if you had multiple cards as you'd want the charges all in one spot after thr statement hits but it makes it harder to track for me. I know I wasn't paying more but there were times I felt like I was paying more than I'd charged.

I agree. It is horrible. I hate going in and trying to figure out what to pay. It is a real pain.... Glad I only use it to meet MSR than it gets sock drawered and then cancelled the next year.

YES! Thanks. So I hesitated to even activate the card which I thought had the wrong number. Sounds like it is OK to do. Our moving expenses will about cover the MSR.

So, I'm guessing venmo on Amex for an MSR is a big fat no-no, correct?
Am I correct in this guess? DD would love some more Delta miles, and the 70k offer is amazing, but no way she can do $2k. She is moving out in May, and will have rent payments, (she will pay the roomie) but I'm sure there is no way to meet an AMEX MR that way.

On another note, DH $5 dining credit from 2/20 finally posted.

I would like to know also. Wanted to get this for DS22 but he won't be able to spend $2000. I still have $2000 on my BOA Card then will be doing the MDD on the CSR/CSP. Unless anyone know if I can Venmo with the BOA card? Then I could get that spend done anyway... I think the rules for Venmo change on April 1 is that correct (treated as a cash advance instead)???
