I was soooo dumb, I only charged $3006 (mine was $3K spend), and then 2 weeks ago I cancelled our flights which means I had a refund of $22. I can't believe I did it. There goes 60,000 AA miles.
My Barclay statement closed today and I see in the statement that I did get the 60K AA miles! They haven't posted on my account, but I hope to see them there tomorrow.

I would like to know this too. From what I read, you have to be staying there, but I am not sure. I don't have an Aspire for this reason.
We might have to try eating at the restaurant there one night just to see if it credits, but I also realized I could book a room at one of the resort properties for next summer and that would trigger the credit once booked. We haven't had problems using the credits the past 2 years, but scrapped both of our shorter stays at Hilton resort properties for a longer stay on HHI.

I plan on transferring all our MRs over to Hilton - I will need to book 2 rooms at Grand Wailea - I'll have 556,000 HH. I'll be 204,000 points short. DH is eligible for the HH Biz card, but because the Amex Green charge card counts as a credit card he's at 4 CCs - I've seen mix reviews on 4 CC limit. Anyone have any better information on CC limit? I might just have DH cancel his Bonvoy Biz, but I was hoping not to do that until the next AF in August.
Have you purchased HH points yet? They're selling at a 100% match right now on up to a 160k points purchase, comes out to 0.5cpp.

I've been trying to transfer my husbands UR from his business cards to my CSR and I keep getting "An unexpected error occurred". I have no way of doing a daisy chain because all of his business cards have the same options - transfer to another business card or add a card and adding my CSR isn't working. Finally, I thought to add his CSR and that worked. Are business cards UR transfers limited to other business cards and personal cards of the same owner? Why wouldn't it take my CSR but allow it to add his (I have a different last name)?

Have you considered cashing out all those MRs via Schwab? 556k MRs = $6,950... At least that way if something happens to change your plans you aren't stuck with all those hard earned points as Hilton.

We're not planning to stay anywhere that we can use our Hilton resort credits from our Aspires this year, but we are planning a trip to HHI this spring. Can we buy a gift card at the Hilton Grand Vacations resort on HHI that falls into the resort category? If not, would any purchase at the resort qualify for the credit (ie: eat at the restaurant, buy something at the gift shop - we are staying at another resort, not Hilton)

The restaurant will likely charge as their own entity, similarly for the gift shop. If you were staying there, you would charge to room so that the charge comes from the hotel. The gift card will probably work if the front desk sells it, but I don't know if they do.

Thanks for the tip, I think that might actually be a better idea than having DH apply for another card. I could just buy 104K points for $1,040 and not have to worry about applying for another card and help with the CIU MSR.

Has anyone used VGC to buy Hilton Points?

Between DH & I we have 195K MRs, with the Hilton transfer bonus going on right now we would get 546K Hilton points.
ETA: I'm at 4/24 - don't plan to apply for the Schwab until 4/22. Our trip is for 6/22.

Turn off POT on the Green. Then if P2 is denied because Amex is counting the Green as a credit card, recon.

Any reason why you’re holding off canceling the Bonvoy Biz until the AF hits? Is it >1 yr.?

When do you need to book by? If only Amex would run another 40% transfer bonus, you’d have your points right there!
I know it’s typically frowned upon to buy points, but they are doing a 100% points purchase match right now, so buying the points you’d need would cost about $1000. I estimate Grand Wailea rooms at about $900 a night including taxes and fees, so at 95,000 points a night, you’d be getting $1932 in value. But hopefully you could wait for a transfer bonus instead if you have time.

ETA: OMG, I see now that a transfer bonus is on right now, and you already factored that in. Thanks for that info- I need that bonus!!

I usually order keurig kcups from Staples. Just got a $10 off $50 coupon so considered using my $25 off $100 offer from Amex.

Then I remembered my CIC and used that for the 5%. Will just get s Disney GC instore instead.

So now I've got months of Keurig coffee along with Nespresso coffee.

Oh yes, my question: I went through the Chase portal and it was 2x, but last time I did this with the CIC, it didn't credit. I just got 1x/4x. Should that be 2x/4x? Or am I not reading some obscure rule?

DVC peeps- I just posted a question on the DVC MS thread. Can anyone help?:)
Nevermind. I got the help I needed.

Wow, good info. I think Pay Over Time came automatically turned on for my Gold and Plat. I gotta check on that. Thanks!

Several weeks ago someone (I'm sorry I can't remember who) was talking about using money orders to pay off their vehicle loan (which they have through a financial institution). I am very interested in this as I owe less than $3K on my loan and would love to get it paid off AND get points for it.

I've never used/bought/received a money order in my life, so can someone tell me whether I have the steps right?

1- purchase Visa GC's (preferably at Staples or something when they are doing the "no fee" promotion, of course using a CIC that I'm trying to meet MSR on)
2- take those Visa GC's to... Frys, maybe? and use them to purchase money orders (not really sure where I can buy them that will accept the GCs as payment. Are GCs considered "debit" cards??? I see the post office says I can purchase money orders with a debit card but not a credit card)
3- deposit those money orders, either to the Credit Union who my vehicle loan is through, OR, could I deposit them in my own Credit Union and then just have the money in my account to send via bill pay to the other credit union? I feel like there is something wrong with the second scenario.

What I am I missing/what do I have wrong? (Probably a lot wrong!)
I paid most of dd's $15k car loan off with MOs. I think #2 is the one that may be YMMV. Food Lion allows visa gift cards since they are pin-based debit cards. That's all FL cares about. But FL is the only place I've purchased MOs so hopefully others can chime in. And correct on 3. I took mine right to B of A. But occassionally I'd deposit them with one of my banks and then just use that money to pay the car payment.
I thought there was someone else who mentioned using Food Lion to buy Money Orders with Visa GCs ... turns out it was @havaneselover that time too. :D

Anyone know if the CIP cell phone coverage covers a cracked screen? Asking for a teenager...What I've read doesn't clearly answer the question for me.

Yes. But keep in mind the deductible is $100. Depending on the model of your phone and where you do your repair, your cost may be around the deductible amount or a just little more. I’ve read the claims process is a PITA, so you need to decide if it’s worth your time.

See for example.

Back from Carmel Valley Ranch (Hyatt Unbound Collection). 3rd night free rate. Split the payment 4 ways. Amex Offers $60 back on $300 x2. First payment was the deposit, second at the hotel just in the nick of time before it expires. Hopefully the Unbound Collection $75 back on $250 x2 too. But can't remember if I registered both of us. Guess I'll find out in a few days. 🤞 Q2 Bonus Journeys promo 2500 points already posted along with the regular stay points. As expected, only got elite nights for the 2 paid nights.

I put up a review on our hotel thread.
