Hi. I'm new here, and I'm thinking about getting the CSP card for the 60,000 bonus point offer (good for $750 when redeemed through Chase Ultimate Rewards).

I've not applied for any cards within the past 24 months.

I can meet a spend of $4000 (maybe $5000, but I'd have to look more diligently) during the first three months. I plan on putting ~$2000 worth of that on the card with my hotel booking through UndercoverTourist.

I'm planning on a trip to WDW for 2 in late January 2022. We're planning to stay 10 nights at Pop Century. I fly out of Denver which generally means Southwest, United, or Frontier.

Can I book Southwest flights with Chase Ultimate Rewards? My quick Googling shows me that there is some conflicting information due to a change of system a while back.

Is this the right card to be looking at for this situation? I'm mainly looking for very cheap flights. It seems that's the biggest bang for the buck regarding signup bonuses when it comes to staying on-property at Disney World. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Approved for CIU! Took 4 days. No status on the regular line, so tried the recon line that people on r/churning have been using. Got press 0 to speak with a rep during business hours and 7-10 days after hours. So not sure how much help that line is. Got an e-mail saying they're reviewing my application the day before approval.

Looking into a Wdw/universal trip at the end of April. I’ve been trying to figure out the best places to buy discounted tickets so I can use PYB and use my URs, but I feel like I’m missing something. I think We want 5 day PH and 2 day universal passes that we will probably upgrade to season passes. If the links aren’t allowed can someone PM me? I know I should “probably” ask on other threads, but everyone here is so helpful it felt easier! Thanks

On the CIU spend...when I got the card, I thought I was going to owe $4k or so in Fed taxes, so I figured that, prop taxes and some vet bills would easily top that out. Now I owe wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy less in Fed taxes, so I am going to struggle some I think. I would see where I am closer to the end of the month but may have to Venmo some funds.
Yeah, I just finished my MSR,and it was a battle (all organic) I got lucky bc my Dad asked me to buy him an Ipad pro,and he gave me a check for it...whew!

Credit inquiries.....I'm looking to finance a car and I have 2 dealerships running my paperwork. Will 2 inquiries hurt me?
It didn’t hurt me when I bought my Hyundai last year...
What annoyed me was the dealership ran my credit and Hyundai
Motor Finance did so at the same time so 2 inquiries for 1 0 interest loan...they wouldn’t take one off

Congrats party:

I'm not sure but here's my recent experience with buying ds's car. I was pre-approved with Capital One at 2.65% up to 72 months. Go to the dealership and tell the sales guy I have capital one pre-approval. Go to the finance guy and tell him I don't want all the extras they try to sell me and I start signing things then ask what the APR is. He's going through BofA at 5.3%. Ugh. So we had to start over and go back through Capial One. At 9 PM two hours from home. I think I only got one hit on my credit.

ETA: It looks like I did have two inquiries (one from C1 and one from Citizens One not B of A) so who knows. I have 8 inquiries in two years which is bad but credit score is above 800, so I don't really care.

Well I'm going through GM financial I think. Try to lock 0% for 84 mos. We were going to lease her car, but after thinking about it, my DS is going to need a car in 4 years. We were saying it would have been nice to have a lead on something used for my DD right now. So in 4 years, we'll have a used Trax for him. We can either pass it to him, or use it as a trade for something for him. The ex and I have never been used people. We lease. And we know what we do to cars, so we're hesitant to buy. Plus the used market is pretty high right now. I guess Ex is most worried as he needs to get himself a new Wrangler ASAP too. He's worried he won't get approved for 2 cars. We both have great credit. And his debt to income ratio is WAY lower than me, LOL

Welcome!

I think you can book Southwest through Chase travel by calling. But it's probably less points transferring UR to Southwest and booking it as an award ticket instead. They transfer 1:1 and Southwest points are usually worth about 1.6 cents per point. If you booked through Chase travel, you'd get 1.25 with the CSP.

But if Southwest points are the goal, then maybe you'd want a Southwest card instead. Do you want to go for a CP? Feel free to ask more about this, we have SW experts on here.

You can also Pay Yourself Back at the 1.25 rate for restaurants/grocery/home improvement through April 30. After that, the categories are probably changing.

Is anyone else waiting until tomorrow to use all your Amex Credits? I was about to start making payments on my cell phone bill, but remembered how frustrating it was for those that made the transactions on the 1st.
I am. Still haven't got my Paypal credit from 2/1. I chatted for the second time today and said don't tell me it's going to be 12 weeks again, this is ridiculous. He gave me a $30 statement credit that would post in 24-24 hours.

Quick question about getting DH another chase ink card.....and potential implications on our credit score since we are looking at replacing our Traverse with a Yukon XL or Suburban (because with 4 kids are are rapidly out-growing our Traverse.)

I got a CFU in January. Added him as an AU in mid-February as the rewards are better than our older CF, and once that card is paid off (this month) I will be dropping the credit limit down to like $500 and not using it any longer (the older CF.) So I am 1/24.

He also did the 0% card for a spin bike (Synchrony bank) in early January (his name) and as soon as that's paid off it'll be closed.

Chase isn't affiliated with Synchrony, so from chase's point of view is he 1/24? or not because the card was opened in my name. Does this even matter since it's a business card? He's getting pre-approval stuff in the mail about it (ink card) every other week right now.

Is all of this recent card activity going to majorly impact our credit score for financing a vehicle around mid-summer? Should I be lowering credit limits on the personal cards NOW that are mostly just hanging out at this point? DH has good credit (high 700s-low 800s depending on who it's pulled from) and mine is mid-700s, but I'm not working right now.

OH! And can anyone help with a calendar for SW flights in March of 2022? We are supposed to go on a cruise (fingers crossed that covid has chilled out by then!) and I'm actively hoarding our URs for airfare. I know they release them a month or few months at a time, but i don't even know when the last group got released, or if i'm 1 or 2 cycles away from that happening for March dates. (I'm sure that was as clear as mud.)

You'll need to check his credit report to make sure that the Synchrony bank isn't on his credit report, but I have a feeling that it will be. But not a big deal since he would still be at 2/24.

In regards to your car loan, you should be okay as long as you pay off your personal cards every month. I had 8 credit inquiries in the last 24 months before DH and I applied for our car loan in Jan and we got the best rate available.

I bought my PH tix directly through Disney. (4+2 promo - you need to be staying on site for this.). I bought Disney gift cards at rite aide using URs, target (5% off) using discover It cash back and the grocery store using PYB. If they didn’t have this promo I would have looked into a reseller, but not sure how I could have used PYB with that.
If you are staying on-site look into the 4+2 deal. It may be cheaper than a 5 day. You can then pay with Disney gift cards and buy them at a grocery store and use PYB.

I'd sit back and get comfortable on that one. You're probably looking at a release of those dates in the August-October time frame. The next release in late April only goes through Nov of 2021.

Thank you.

I haven't looked into the CP too much, but it seems it's going to take a lot of spending. In a given year, I probably spend $12,000 on a credit card - all paid off immediately. If I needed to, I could put my $1500 per month rent on there as well, but there's a $30 fee to do that that may negate some of the value. I'm not too into the other options for manufactured spending right now.

How do the CP requirements compare?

Just got my new CIC in the mail after asking by SM that they expedite it! (Asked on Friday and received card on Monday!)

I’ve got another CIC with a credit limit of about $10k. This one has $3k, which will make hitting that $7500 spend a little trickier. Can I ask Chase to move some of CIC #1 credit line over to CIC #2 by SM? Or would I need to call? And in either case, is this going to draw unwanted attention to the fact that I’ve got 2 CICs, such that I should just keep quiet and deal with it??

I just used PYB with my CSP UR's to buy Disney gift cards to pay for park tickets. I suppose the same could be done for resort stays/packages. CSR would give a better rate for PYB.

Caution: When I called to buy the park tickets (DVC MS) only two forms of payment could be applied. I had two gift cards and the remainder was to be put on a CC. They could not do that. Luckily, I had exactly the right amount on gift cards for 3 of the park tickets. So I was able to split the 4 tickets into 2 transactions: 3 tix on GCs, the third on my CC. Not sure if the same holds true for non DVC transactions. (Ticket paid for with CC was for a non-family member who will be joining us and paid for her own tix.)

This is what I did too. Only I have the CSR. So, $1500 in Gift Cards cost me 100,000 UR's. I may have to cash some more out this way before they PYB ends for future trips.

@SouthFayetteFan - I got my AMEX Everyday in October. So in theory, if I upgrade with this new offer, I should keep the new card until at least November of 2022 before downgrading back to the no fee Everyday. Is this correct?
