I have a 10% back (up to $60) offer on my CFU at Best Buy. I don't NEED anything at BB at the moment, would that apply to gift cards they carry there as well (if they carry any other than BB)? All of this is still kind of new to me, so thanks to everyone answering questions!
Yep. It should work on a GC bought in store or online. (Just not the eGC since that goes through Cashstar.)

Looking for my next card. This will be the first time since I’ve started this hobby that’ll I’ll be applying for a car loan (most likely June/July when I make my last payment). Would opening a card now impact the interest rates for the car loan?

Highly unlikely. I open lots of cards and keep my credit score > 800. I think if your credit score is above 750ish you are generally getting the best rates. And rates are generally dirt cheap right now.

also look with the dealership too... my friend walked out with a .9% interest loan directly with them.
she has fun with it when loan ppl try to beat it... they usually cant XD

It didn’t make a difference for me....last year I got a 0 interest rate 60 month loan with the dealer

Tried for the CSR this morning for P2 and after some issues getting the site to load, submitted application and got the 7-10 days message. Called recon, closed on Sunday. Called customer service and they couldn't locate the application and suggested re-submitting. Chase website says that part of the site isn't working right now. Odd... seems like the MDD isn't gonna happen and it's my own fault for not researching enough, but the site is also being a little weird.
So this is interesting. I applied for the CIC on Thursday and got the “we need more time” message. Friday when I tried to check the status online it wasn’t there, and when I called CS they had no record of it. But they didn’t suggest I reapply. Do you guys think I should?

Thanks everyone! I went through the dealership last time but just wanted to be sure this wouldn't get in the way of that.
You know you it's time to open a card when P2 (who previously was wary of this!) says isn't time to open a card we have the car insurance coming up LOL I think he has finally seen all the extra traveling we can do without it affecting our credit!

Now to finalize which one to get!

Are you checking the status from your Chase personal online account? I don't think business apps would show up there. Weird that CS has no record either (maybe the line you called can only see personal apps?). Since you got the e-mail, I think it went through. If you got the hard pull(s), then definitely.

The regular status line doesn't seem to be working for business apps. You can call 888-270-2127. You might get press 0 to speak to a rep about your app status. I would just hang up and let it work its way through. But at least you'd know they have it.

What’s the easiest way to check? Usually I get emails from credit monitoring if there’s any change to my credit.
I usually get an email immediately from Experian, which is the bureau they pull for me. Chase also has a credit journey section that shows your current score. On mine it will show my recent inquiries. But I agree with @wanderlust7, if you received an email after your application it more than likely went through. The email usually says “thank you for your application” something like that.

I would love this to be true!

I know the US Bank Altitude Reserve doesn’t get much love at it’s a bit niche to acquire- need a low x/24 + relationship with US Bank (if you live within their branch footprint and want a relationship start one up under their next checking account bonus, that’s how I got it. 6 months after my account opened I got an AR). This is one card I’m eternally grateful I used a 5/24 slot on years ago. I abide by the no giftcard purchases suggestion (US Bank has shut people down for that and 0% get reinstated once shutdown, even people with over $100k on deposit with them don’t get reinstated 😬). 3% back on mobile wallet purchases + real time rewards + fairly generous retention offers (5k-15k points no spend offers) + my safety premier travel card if the worst happens and Amex and chase shut me down someday = keeper!

(There are no support links, I just like the card 😆)

Wow - something momentous has occurred today in my churning career. We got our 100th card as churners! 57 for me; 43 for her - and it all adds up to 100. An Ink card of course will appropriately mark the occasion.

This month also is our 6 year anniversary of hardcore churning. Prior to March 2015 I had merely dabbled in the game with a SW CP and a few other cards.

Trying to make sure I understand PYB, transactions need to both post and be redeemed by April 30th, correct? If so, that's going to significantly change how I think about the CSP/CSR. Right now the SUBs have the most value to us with the 1.5x cash out, and it looks like both statements will close by April 1, so we'll only have one billing cycle to hit MSR.

Since you have 90 days to redeem, it seems like the transactions just need to post by 4/30 and then you will have until July to redeem.

FINALLY got that credit balance on my (closed) Amex Hilton Biz transferred to the BBP.

From the date first I chatted with them, which I think was Feb 22, it took about 6 business days. Longer than I expected and longer than what they told me. Just glad it's finally finished.
