American Express Everyday => Everyday Preferred UPGRADE offer
There are reports on r/churning that a 40k MR for $2k MSR upgrade offer went out via email today. People that would want to watch for this would be Amex Everyday cardholders.

IF you go this offer and you have already earned an EDP bonus, this seems like a no-brainer! If you've never earned the bonus on an EDP, it still might warrant consideration even though it might rule you out from a future EDP bonus.

I am an Everyday cardholder and did NOT get this offer at this point so it is targeted.

Anyone use a Chromebook for web surfing?
It is almost all I use now. It's light, fast, incredible battery life, the one I bought has a touchscreen, runs apps like an android phone. Downsides are it takes a combination of buttons to right click, I haven't figured out how to caps lock, there is no delete key and the storage is minimal. There are work arounds for all of those issues. This is the one I am using now, although we actually have 4 of them in my house. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-14-...mmc-flash-memory-grey/6199102.p?skuId=6199102 I like it much more than the 17" Lenovo laptop I was using before. I got last years model with only 16gb for $200 a couple months ago.

So I must've missed that the discount doesn't apply if you get a GC and put an amount on it.... or I didn't yesterday at BJs. I saw the multipack $50 cards that were discounted but didn't want the hassle of using 3 different cards so I just got one and asked her to add $150. It didn't occur to me until I checked the receipt that I wouldn't get the discounted price. Grrr...
Yeah the reloadable ones aren't discounted at BJs. It's weird for sure.

I'd also like to hear more about the Chromebooks. Size was a plus as well as they had touchscreen. Not familiar with their features and operating system and would need to hold it and use it.

Once my last PC died I let them go. I don't work from home anymore, lol. My job provided me with the giant Dell laptop when I did work, and I definitely preferred my work desktop to that monster.

I really don't have a need for anything special. It's purely preference and want.
Not quite the same, but I have 2 laptops I've switched from Windows to ChromeOS and they are so much faster. These are older, cheap laptops. I did end up having to replace one with a windows machine for my daughter because her math app was not compatible. But, they seem great for little things. I use them mostly for Swagbucks right now or for testing when I'm working on a website.

Interesting. I know nothing about the Chrome OS. I'll have to check it out a bit more once I get back out into the world.

I'm also spoiled. I want fast. Can't stand anything spinning forever, lol.

Glad you complained to Delta. My 28 year old would have had anxiety about complaining also.

But, come'on, Mom! Give that poor baby that whole $100!! She suffered enough to deserve it!
Honestly she told me she didn't even want the $50! I swear this child is all over the place. But overall she's not too greedy. Like we're buying her a car and she's like I don't care if it's new or used, what color it is, etc....I'm just happy to have a car. They "poor" kid is likely about to have a new Trax, though, LOL

I was coming to ask about this. I never have had the EDP. I have the ED. It's the only MRs I have. I've been in Amex pop-up hell (I wanted to do the Plat). Trying to decide if this one is a good move. I don't have a ton of MRs, but I'm trying to start the stock up for my DD's 18th in Ireland.

I forgot to hit Staples this morning on the way home from my BFs this morning. So I'm gonna try to hit the one by school tomorrow. I need to start working on my $15k Surpass spend, LOL.

Can I ask how people are hitting the $7500 CIC/CIU's? Are you doing MS? Do you have that much organic spend? I'd love the URs but w/o MS there's no way I'm hitting $7500. I've thought if I do the $1k downpayment on my DDs car on it, that helps, but there's still $6500, LOL.

Re: EDP upgrade for 40k is a nice bonus. The normal SUB for the card isn't typically that high! Plus, you gotta ask yourself if you'd ever actually grab an EDP on its own. It would take a 5/24 slot, and carries Amex RAT risk with the SUB. Doing the upgrade seems like a safer play all around.

For me these CIC/CIU bonuses are all about slow and steady wins the race. I get a CIC if I feel like I can put a decent amount of office spend or prepay some of my cable bill. I get a CIU if it's more about everyday stuff. Try to find some MS plays if you need help getting there on the MSR - but overall they do provide a lucrative bonus with no hit to 5/24!

Hey friends,
I had gotten a room at Marriott Lakeshore Reserve for another friend who is now unable to travel. It is from March 4-11. I am not allowed to rent as it is an Interval International exchange so come as a guest. I have a 3BR townhouse for myself so I have no use for it and it will go to waste. SFF will post link on our other site. I’m not so useful there so PM works best for me. We are here now so I’ll check a few times a day.
Sorry for the delay - I posted this (finally) today on DISchurners on behalf of fellow member @brownhaired_girl.

Tried for the CSR this morning for P2 and after some issues getting the site to load, submitted application and got the 7-10 days message. Called recon, closed on Sunday. Called customer service and they couldn't locate the application and suggested re-submitting. Chase website says that part of the site isn't working right now. Odd... seems like the MDD isn't gonna happen and it's my own fault for not researching enough, but the site is also being a little weird.
Thank you! I thought the second needed to be approved same-day for it to work. Will try tomorrow.
@striker1064 - keep us posted! Good luck - hopefully you can come out of this with a successful MDD! The DPs are mixed and I can't say we've ever pinpointed why some work and others don't. I know that most people don't like to roll the dice, and instead call recon but it seems like you got dealt a strange hand today!

That is so nice of you to offer! I hope someone can use your generous offer!

The denial letter posted to P2's account overnight - too many requests for credit in the past 3/12 months and total available credit on credit lines. No hard denials like 5/24, so I am hoping I can chat through these. The CSP was approved with a $9.3k credit limit and I know the CSR needs $10k, so it's close.

This has been an interesting case study for me. P2 was a little anxious about the number of cards she had open, and with the pandemic I was fine closing cards for her as AFs posted and even a few no-AF cards here and there. And now I'm seeing "total available credit" as a denial reason - should've kept 1-2 more open, I guess!

Congrats! Do you currently hold a BoA biz cash card or did you cancel your other first?
I did not cancel first. So, assuming the card arrives, I will have two. I'm slightly concerned that I haven't received an email yet from BoA regarding the application, but hopefully all is well. I found some DPs of others with two cards, so that is somewhat reassuring.

How is the screen quality, if I were to watch Netflix?
Correct, there is a backspace key but no delete key. @softballpooh is correct, you can use Alt+Backspace as Delete and Alt+Click for right click. I always use a mouse with mine, my wife doesn't always remember that she has to hold Alt to get it to right click, but she switches back and forth between a Windows laptop for work and our Chromebooks at home.

Screen Quality, is variable by model. The panel on mine is 720P and seems fine for watching netflix or youtube. There are models available that are 1080, but how much resolution do you need on an 11, 14 or 15" screen?

Good luck! Interested in seeing what happens to see if I should apply for DH or not.

Update: CSR approved.

Recon agent asked why I was applying after just being approved for the CSP, ~5 min hold, asked me to re-verify income and housing payment, ~5 min hold, approved.

When I told the agent what we paid for rent, I said "Washington DC be crazy," and I like to think it was my wit and charm that got the approval. But really, I'm happy this all worked out in the end. Don't be like me, do your MDD during the week. Or at least start your MDD on Sunday and make your second application on Monday when recon was open.
