I will have met my MSR for my CIP in the next few days. That's about 45 days from card approval. I PC'ed my CSP to a CSR earlier this week and got the new card the next day! Already did some grocery shopping with the CSR including a gift card at Kroger to earn fuel points too. I would really like to get the CIC next month to take advantage of our office expenditures. If I get denied, can I reapply the following month or should I try for another biz card? I keep all biz expenses on biz cards and personal on personal cards. Just makes for easy bookkeeping.

Anyone use a Chromebook for web surfing? I have a desktop, that I use a lot, an iPhone and and iPad. I also have my dads old laptop. For webbrowsing/researchings things, I like to use right click to open multiple tabs. If not sitting in my office, the laptop works best for that. But this thing is a MONSTER! It's older and it's a 17 inch monitor with an old dying extended battery. It weighs a ton, and even on a lapdesk, it hurts my lap. I was thinking of maybe getting a Chromebook for this. I wouldn't be doing anything fancy, just surfing and maybe watching tv/movie on the go. Seems like that would work for what I need?

Any easy ways to use the $10 Gold credits without going out? Yes, I totally procrastinated on this.

Older DD called a couple of hours ago and asked me the same question. She was doing the $20 and $10 credits we just got, and still had her Uber Plat credit. :confused3 I told her to pick up a couple of loaves of bread at Panera and some BBQ from Mission BBQ. Both are close enough to her and don't have to be eaten tonight. She then told me she was going out to get something entirely different. :confused3

Not even a h/t. :rotfl:
Haha - well I didn't post that on r/churning or in any public spots (I don't think) other than our thread here. Since DoC seems to be the place where things go to die lately, our relationship isn't what it used to be 🤣 🤣 🤣 I see that other readers still find it necessary to send him things such as this though...

:tink: You are approved for the CIC next month.......if for some reason you aren’t you can reapply after 30 days for another business card...

@EACarlson said earlier today that he uses one all the time. I looked at a few online today, but I'm not quite sure if I want to give up my 'old' way of doing things. But the prices were a whole lot smaller than the $1200 I'd spend to get a similar laptop to what I've been using. Hopefully when my battery comes tomorrow I won't have to make any decisions.

Chick-fil-a reload.

I didn't know the Gold restaurant credit would work for a reload at CFA. I thought it was just Cheesecake Factory, Grubhub, Shake Shack and Ruth Chris?

I decided it was my fault. In haste on Fri, I forgot to take my Gold cards with me when we went to PF Chang’s since CF and Shake Shack are right in the same parking lot. Oh well. I used my Uber credits this month at Five Guys so I am considering it a win.

Oops. Guess I missed that LOL. I Saw your laptop saga but missed that, thanks! I wouldn’t be giving up anything since I only use the one I have for browsing anyway. I do real computer stuff on my desktop.

I have an Asus Chromebook that I use for surfing and streaming. I primarily use it when I need a larger screen or a real keyboard instead of using my iPhone or iPad. It’s over 3 years old and still going strong. The updates are quick and easy. I plan to buy another when it dies.

I'd also like to hear more about the Chromebooks. Size was a plus as well as they had touchscreen. Not familiar with their features and operating system and would need to hold it and use it.

Once my last PC died I let them go. I don't work from home anymore, lol. My job provided me with the giant Dell laptop when I did work, and I definitely preferred my work desktop to that monster.

I really don't have a need for anything special. It's purely preference and want.

The 90k Biz Gold offer is targeted, if you get the unavailable message that means you are not targeted right now. You could be targeted in the future, sometimes AmEx does waves, so you could try again. Sometimes if you were targeted before but wait too long to apply, you are not targeted anymore. AmEx is fickle, but doesn't hurt to try again.
Thank you! It seems like bait and switch that it shows in my Amex offers then isn't available if I actually want to apply. I guess I'll keep trying. Thanks for the explanation!

That is the deal I had and applied/approved February 5. No annual fee. The 15k MSR is steep but that really is such a good deal!
Thanks! Still trying to rack my brain and make it work.

Anyone use a Chromebook for web surfing?

I do and only for that reason! I have a Samsung one and love to have it to throw in my bag when I'm going out or use when I'm laying around and don't want to deal with my laptop in the office or for trying to see on my phone. I ended up buying one for my mom, daughter, and sister for $99 when they go on sale at BF. Battery life is excellent and sometimes I just need an actual keyboard.

If you already have a Sam's Club or BJ's membership, you can purchase Disney gift cards at either store for ~4% off (which is their standard discount),

So I must've missed that the discount doesn't apply if you get a GC and put an amount on it.... or I didn't yesterday at BJs. I saw the multipack $50 cards that were discounted but didn't want the hassle of using 3 different cards so I just got one and asked her to add $150. It didn't occur to me until I checked the receipt that I wouldn't get the discounted price. Grrr...
